Fab photos! I remember going to the stately home at Erddig and the kitchen had me fascinated. They even had "faux" peacocks ready to serve up

All the servants bells as well, fascinating stuff. Wonder how The Queen summons staff these days? A quick text or Snapchat maybe :D A great place to visit (with the best adventure playground for kids, and penguins!) if anyone is in Yorkshire.

Yes they do, all along the wall above the fireplace. Imagine waiting for one to ring and legging it upstairs to the correct room, ready to deal with whatever random request is thrown at them!

Unless they threaten their safety they should learn to ignore them like most of the celebrities seem to do. Get used to being on the front page of every mag in the checkout line of supermarkets across North America with ridiculous stories claiming inside information. As usual PH over -reacts and loses his temper. Just what media likes.... Paps are everywhere. He can't fight all the newspapers in the world and he definitely can't do anything about FB or Twitter. Before long the residents of that private enclave will be begging them to leave - their lives will be disrupted too.

I don't follow many celebrities but Alec Baldwin's wife Hilaria posts a picture every morning on instagram with her outfit for the day and asks all of the celebrity magazines to use her photo instead of buying photos of her from the paparazzi. She said they still follow her sometimes but it has gotten much better for her since anyone writing a story about her has lots of free photos to choose from! I thought that was a creative way to deal with the issue.

Harry and Meghan claim paparazzi 'stalked' them within hours of their reunion in Canada

The incident will raise questions about the couple’s decision to quit the UK due to the “bullying” British tabloids when they were rarely pursued by paparazzi photographers due to a longstanding agreement between the palace and newspaper editors not to publish any intrusive images following the death of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Now no longer members of the royal family, nor subject to the royal rota system which provides the UK media with lawfully obtained imagery - the couple are effectively being treated as ‘celebrities’ in North America - which one paparazzo told the Telegraph was “like the wild west compared to Britain”.

Sources close to the celebrity picture agencies, which are both based in Los Angeles but have photographers based around the world, insist that the Duchesses’ bodyguards were aware the latest pictures were being taken in a public place.

Do they want to be famous? Or do they want complete anonymity?

Meghan chose to marry Prince Harry, now she complains about the press?

rsbm: Captain Obvious can see they were aware :)

I can't figure out if PH knew this all along or he just believed MM when she told him it would be better in NA. I know he has lived a sheltered life, but how could he not know?

I saw The Queen Mother when I was about 7, she landed at an RAF base near our house. There was quite a crowd of adults and kids waving flags and cheering and of course she smiled and waved at everyone. My sister, who was about 4, remains convinced QM waved directly at her. Apparently Andrew was there too, but I have no recollection of him at all!
I visited Diana’s dresses tour when they came close to me - I knew she was slim but she was really tiny - waist and hips just super slim - the dresses were so beautiful - I have two of the auction catalogs still- I’ve searched everywhere for a picture of her wearing the floral one shoulder featured in the crown as I was certain I saw her in an almost identical dress but I still can’t find it ...

Thanks for that, really interesting article.

So glad you got to Cornwall. It's my favourite place in the UK and we go every year. Hope you saw Tintagel castle with the King Arthur legend.

Is that castle in ruin? If so, yes we saw it.
We had the most delicious fish and chips in the entire universe there.

I was a teacher and we learned that a step in reading is learning how to rhyme. Children would learn nursery rhymes.
After my tour in England, I never looked at nursery rhymes the same again. They are not for children.

This article gives a very abbreviated version of what the rhymes are about.

Kate's ability to squat so low in heels never ceases to amaze me
