I think she was found lying on her right side (maybe) so decomposition happened faster where she was in contact with the ground. Don't quote me on that though.

Yes I think the moisture in the muddy ground hastened the process on her right hand. There had been a complete skin slippage on that hand so there was nothing left to hold those fingernails in place. So sad :(

12:53pm: Dr Beaven: "Towards the end of the consultation he asked how long I had been at the practice and whether I lived locally. I said I'd been at the practice for about a year and a half and that I lived out past Springfield Lakes, but was looking to move to the area.

"And he handed me his business card and [said] that he might be able to help me with that."

I think the above may have a profound effect on jury members. They're heard about his ongoing affair & now there he is passing out his business card.....

.....................all while his wife is missing.........

Can anyone enlighten us to the reactions of GBC and the rest of the clan to the evidence in court.

  • #505
Has it been verified if he called the lady Allison was going to the conference with to check if she had heard from Allison?

GBC said he rang Kate at about ten past ni-, ah 7

then Kate rang back as GBC was being chatted to by police at the house.
Sgt Curtis then spoke to Kate

(transcript of police record of interview)

Hi Everyone, long time ‘guest lurker’ so I thought I should finally sign in now that things are heating up.

I have only just renewed my ties with this forum again since the trial commenced. I was an avid reader during the peak period from April – June 2012. I can recall so many names here: Thinking, Trooper, Spratsmum, Alioop, Fuskier, Bikerchick, whatif?, lynette, Kimster, Ippygal, Makara, Marlywings (I’m sure you weren’t an administrator back then), Mrs G Norris (who should be doing stand up - somewhere respectable of course) and last but not least kiwijayne. It was kiwijayne’s initial posts that I first recall, as she was geographically very close to the scene of this tragedy.

Someone mentioned just yesterday, about a former sleuther ‘H_______’( later identified as Hawkins). Where is Hawkins? It was awesome to read every analytical and definitive post he put forward. Seeing Hawkins was not about, I wondered if he was presiding over the case (one can only hope), and therefore ineligible to post here any longer.

I guess I have seen far too many films, as initially I almost wanted there to be a surprise twist: the accused was innocent, or a random opportunist was the perpetrator, or a late night tryst gone wrong (no disrespect intended). It seems the evidence has become so obvious, and many of the testimonies are a total farce. Like everyone else, I’m waiting for the roundabout to clinch it!

There’s one other thing I haven’t seen mentioned, and something I have thought about countless times since that fateful day. Was the Kenmore-Brookfield area covered in fog on the Friday morning? I live about 50km south east of Brookfield and show dogs fairly regularly. I remember taking the Friday off work, as I had entered two of my dogs in the Kilcoy Ag Show held that weekend. I left early and travelled via the Warrego Hwy, Bris Valley Hwy and actually went the east side of Wivenhoe Dam for a change. I distinctly recall stopping in Fernvale just after 7am and it was like pea soup all around there. I returned home about 6pm, and it was only then that the news was surfacing on the networks. I have always wondered if Allison was already at the Creek as I drove virtually parallel to it, via the Bris Valley Hwy. I know we had a lot of rain in the days before she was finally found. There was a fair amount of speculation she had been washed down from somewhere closer to her home.

Nice to finally sign in and say g’day, we all share a similar vision to see a justified outcome for Allison.

I’m sure justice will prevail for Allison, and I believe her daughters and family and friends will soon be able to pick up the pieces and close the B-C chapter of their lives.

I know the business card thing shocked me. This proves he must have a personality problem. How could you not know that this is inappropriate.

Okay so assuming he is guilty (bear with me here), he doesn't seem to be laying the groundwork for a suicide but rather a woman grabbed off the street and attacked at random. He is saying there was no fight, all was calm last night, he can't think of a reason why she would have disappeared.i think the mention of depression and him being so forthcoming with details of the affair is to give the illusion of transparency.

BBM Exactly Minerva. The master at manipulation: illusion of transparency.

Thanks Odd, Marly and others for the right side info

Altho just because the body is right side down, it doesn't tell us where the right hand itself is.

The autopsy said her hands were entangled in the jumper that was twisted around her neck, so they could have been crossed over her chest or anything like that. Hard to know without exact details.

Trial hears Gerard Baden-Clay gave his business card to a female GP the day after his wife went missing #badenclay (@liztilley84)

Interesting......this tweet sounds like it's implying he was "giving her his number".....

Welcome bronson :) interesting post. So you're saying that the fog would've made it hard to see a body in a creek?

Some people have suggested Narcisstic Personality but I go with Sociopath, with some Mania thrown in. :twocents:

The lady called Gerard to find out where Allison was and why she hadn't arrived to meet her yet.

I've wondered about this. When did she first call? There was chat in previous discussion threads that Allison had arranged to travel into the city with her, GBC was unaware of this arrangement and this might have pushed the phone call to the police forward on GBC's timetable.

It would make far more sense (if it was premeditated) that Allison not appear at the conference and thereby give GBC more time to get his house in order before giving the performance of a lifetime, as well as a more realistic elapse of time before raising the alarm. If she only had $20 on her, that wouldn't be enough to pay for parking in the city for the day and to buy lunch. There are buses that go straight from Brookfield Rd into the CBD. Maybe that was the initial plan that GBC was aware of, before she decided to catch a lift with Kate Rankin instead.

"What do you mean, Allison never showed up?" Etc etc.

Further to the scratch photos being examined by Dr Stark, why was there no mention of the other injuries? Armpits, chest etc? To me they looked substantial enough to warrant a comment?

The police wrote in their Witness Statements that when asked by police what the girls had been told about their mother's absence, OBW replied that GBC had said to the girls, 'Gerald told the girls shortly after 6 am that Mummy had gone for a walk and probably fell down a hole and would not be back'. She then asked, 'Is that ok?'

I want the jury to hear that. If the jury hears that, it will inform them that no matter what waffle followed through the past two years and in the court, Gerald showed no concern for the girls'. Did nothing at all to alleviate their anxiety. Showed utter coldness and callousness within himself and towards Allison and her daughters

If you are remotely concerned for your missing wife or your children, you would not -- would not -- say what Olivia Baden Walton told police that morning

was all this emphasis on allison not driving to fit in with the suicide scenario, as explanation why her car wasnt found at the bridge, she walked there and jumped off?

Just quoting you bearbear because I think it's relevant. Is there anyone on here who takes antidepressants? Please can you pull out the information leaflet and tell me what it says about driving whilst taking them?

TM is the kind of woman who would have made sure Allison knew that she and Gerrid had resumed the affair if you ask me, accidentally of course .. you know, like by accidentally confiding in someone who worked in the industry or knew Allison or similar .. same way she did it last time.

Yes I would have thought she'd want everyone to know and I was surprised how angry she got with ?Phil who was accused of telling the tuckshop ladies (lol) etc.

Altho I wouldn't be surprised if GBC had told her something like "If you ever tell my wife, I'm ditching you", which would be par for the course for a lying manipulator, and explain why TM was avoiding confrontations at all cost.
