Hi Everyone, long time guest lurker so I thought I should finally sign in now that things are heating up.
I have only just renewed my ties with this forum again since the trial commenced. I was an avid reader during the peak period from April June 2012. I can recall so many names here: Thinking, Trooper, Spratsmum, Alioop, Fuskier, Bikerchick, whatif?, lynette, Kimster, Ippygal, Makara, Marlywings (Im sure you werent an administrator back then), Mrs G Norris (who should be doing stand up - somewhere respectable of course) and last but not least kiwijayne. It was kiwijaynes initial posts that I first recall, as she was geographically very close to the scene of this tragedy.
Someone mentioned just yesterday, about a former sleuther H_______( later identified as Hawkins). Where is Hawkins? It was awesome to read every analytical and definitive post he put forward. Seeing Hawkins was not about, I wondered if he was presiding over the case (one can only hope), and therefore ineligible to post here any longer.
I guess I have seen far too many films, as initially I almost wanted there to be a surprise twist: the accused was innocent, or a random opportunist was the perpetrator, or a late night tryst gone wrong (no disrespect intended). It seems the evidence has become so obvious, and many of the testimonies are a total farce. Like everyone else, Im waiting for the roundabout to clinch it!
Theres one other thing I havent seen mentioned, and something I have thought about countless times since that fateful day. Was the Kenmore-Brookfield area covered in fog on the Friday morning? I live about 50km south east of Brookfield and show dogs fairly regularly. I remember taking the Friday off work, as I had entered two of my dogs in the Kilcoy Ag Show held that weekend. I left early and travelled via the Warrego Hwy, Bris Valley Hwy and actually went the east side of Wivenhoe Dam for a change. I distinctly recall stopping in Fernvale just after 7am and it was like pea soup all around there. I returned home about 6pm, and it was only then that the news was surfacing on the networks. I have always wondered if Allison was already at the Creek as I drove virtually parallel to it, via the Bris Valley Hwy. I know we had a lot of rain in the days before she was finally found. There was a fair amount of speculation she had been washed down from somewhere closer to her home.
Nice to finally sign in and say gday, we all share a similar vision to see a justified outcome for Allison.
Im sure justice will prevail for Allison, and I believe her daughters and family and friends will soon be able to pick up the pieces and close the B-C chapter of their lives.
