I am extremely excited as I believe that a cross examination of Gerred will open up the huge discrepancies in everything he said and everything he has done. I commend the prosecution on getting him to go on the stand.

Thinking of the Dickies and the girls.

Im feeling a bit sick actually! I hope you are right... I have faith in QPS and prosecution, but getting nervous about whether the defence will sow enough seeds of doubt for the jury...

Thinking of Allisons Family and friends..

I think that Allison was a woman of exceptional character and self-control.

She had every reason to become extremely distressed and angry, but for the sake of her marriage and her children she was able to maintain control of her emotions. This is very rare.

She seems to have made a huge effort to work on the marriage, and to discuss issues reasonably and fairly.

Her husband's infidelity and criticism was eroding her own confidence (as we know from her diary entries) but still she kept trying.

A narcissist has a way of making the victim feel that all the problems are their fault.

She may also have had some instinctive knowledge that it was necessary to stay non-confrontational for her own safety and survival. I don't know.

Byrne says Allison became "insular" and didn't want to socialise as much. Gerard took on more of a role looking after the household.
