I am very pleased to admit I was wrong about GBC giving evidence. This is great. I owe a few of you $10 which I am very happy to pay. You know who you are.

Me too, I'm more than happy to be wrong, hope the Prosecution were expecting this opportunity.

12:13pm: Mr Byrne has detailed the Gerard and Allison's relationship from its early days to the first sign of her depression.

"They both worked at Flight Centre ...

"They worked in the George Street office and they became friends. They began to date and he will explain to you spark and connection between them and that for him that meant a long term relationship. He'll tell you and he'll be frank in what he tells you about all of these things, he never really connected with Allison's family, but he certainly connected with her.

"The next year, 1996, he proposed to her and she accepted. They immediately drove down the coast and told [Allison's parents] about that and they were both warmly congratulated.

"They both started planning their life together ... with a lengthy overseas working holiday/honeymoon, which they undertook.

"For them it was meant to be a journey of a lifetime and experience and travel the world together and experience this together. They were both young. They were married on the 23rd of August 1997 and a week later they left the country. They went to Kuala Lumpa, the Maldives, Spain, Turkey and Morocco.

"They were both high achievers. Whilst they were in London they got jobs. Gerard worked as a financial systems consultant for Blockbuster International. Allison worked as a trainer."

Im feeling a bit sick actually! I hope you are right... I have faith in QPS and prosecution, but getting nervous about whether the defence will sow enough seeds of doubt for the jury...

Thinking of Allisons Family and friends..

i agree, also feeling worried, and they have had 2 years to prepare, and possibly reading forums like this etc, imagine ow determined to get her brother free and doing lots of research.
i wonder if they will say allison suicided at home so they disposed of her body (nbc) to save the girls from knowing?

See, this is where it so unfair for the victim.
Allison can't put her side of the story.

The prosecution needs to take Allison's place and challenge every witness and statement that even has a whiff of untruthfulness.
IMHO the prosecution needs to be a lot more aggressive now than they were in presenting their case.

There is plenty of law in Australia but I do worry about the justice side of it.

A young lady was murdered so don't give the perpetrator wriggle room.

Just all my opinion.

Defence showing closer version of time lapse of tide levels and debris at Kholo Creek. #badenclay

Her body was never submerged or in Kholo Creek, so what is the relevance of this?

Byrne says they were a private couple and wouldn't talk about Allison's condition "whatever it was". #badenclay

We are not living in the dark ages! If he really cared he would have sought help for "whatever it was..."

Byrne says Allison became "insular" and didn't want to socialise as much. Gerard took on more of a role looking after the household.

Oh please! :waiting:
