Gerard says they stopped at a town and Allison couldn't get out of bed at all. #badenclay

Gerard says Allison was sometimes fully engaged and at other times completely withdrawn. #badenclay

GBC is going to sink himself by breaking the golden rule: Never speak ill of the dead.

He will alienate the whole jury in the next half hour.

#badenclay very emotional as recounts how he and Allison kissed on the top step. Hence their business name.

Baden-Clay is still talking about h'moon, Allison being nervous of safety in Rio: "I've always been naturally protective of her" #badenclay

Which is why I made her feel like itwas her fault that I had affairs

3:34pm: Mr Baden-Clay is recalling their trip through South America in great detail.

He said he first noticed signs of her depression in Rio after the couple learned other tourists had been mugged.

He said Allison's mood began to fluctuate thereafter.

"I've always been naturally protective of her. It was just natural for me to protect her I suppose," he said.

"Her mood fluctuated from one end of the spectrum ... from normal Al, who's just a lovely, kind, gentle person, but with a great sense of humour and love of life, though to some really deep depression ...

"Back in 1998 I had no idea, none of us had really any idea, what depression was."

Gerard says at the end of the tour they stayed with friends, remembers there was a day when Allison was normal, a day when she was not right

Gerard says the next day Allison then woke up normal. Her mood fluctuated throughout their overseas trip. @7NewsBrisbane #badenclay

It is very interesting to hear only Alison's failings, nothing about how clever, beautiful and loving she was but more about her anxiety, depression, mood fluctuations, nervousness - this must be very telling for the jury. More a justification than a recollection of their early life together.

Probably because his true colors came out and she wondered "oh dear, what have I done?"

No doubt...after he would have told all on the trip (those who wanted, and those who couldn't get away) how he was the bigger earner, had the better job, fixed her computer, was Baden Powell's grandson. I can only imagine :vomit:

"Psychopaths can suffer emotional pain for a variety of reasons. Like anyone else, psychopaths have a deep wish to be loved and cared for. This desire remains frequently unfulfilled, however, as it is obviously not easy for another person to get close to someone with such repellent personality characteristics". - See more at: http://www.psychiatrictimes.com/psy...n-suffering-psychopath-0#sthash.bpLldwkX.dpuf
