Gerard #badenclay is talking about the International Scout Centre again. He is great-grandson of Scouts founder Robert Baden-Powell.

OMG, was he? I never knew that! Then he must be innocent! Yes, for sure he is innocent if he has Scouting lineage!

She became very anxious, became worse over time, distressed if I left the house - Gerard #badenclay

Why not...I seem to remember from one picture he had reasonably well developed man 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.

Maybe she was soo anxious in case Bwana and the other in-law would stand on their doorstep..

Oh boy - the prosecution are really going to have to sort through all this guff and focus on the bits they can challenge him on. Not Kieran Perkins winning the swimming, or 9/11, or whatever. But to focus the minds of the jurors onto things like all the inconsistencies in his story.

Including that no matter how much of a picture he has painted of Allison's depression, the fact remains that she did NOT overdose on Zoloft, she did NOT jump off the bridge after transporting herself there, and he did NOT cause those scratches on his face with a razor.

3:00pm: Mr Byrne: "What were your plans for your life with Allison?"

Mr Baden-Clay: "We were planning to spend the rest of our lives together. We were working on making that a reality after the infidelity I'd had in the past."

nice linguistic technique to deny your own agency in that...

"Unfortunately I picked up a bad case of infidelity - I blame some dodgy meal from that South American holiday."

Gerard said Allison passed out at the wheel. Their daughter, aged about one, was in the car. She'd pulled over. #badenclay

Gerard: She felt very uncomfortable about driving anywhere so she stopped driving. #badenclay

Gerard: She was very, very nervous even as a passenger. #badenclay

Gerard: Going to the airport was a real challenge. #badenclay

How many countries? Was he trying out for the 100 club?

He reminds me of the My Kitchen Rules girl that could only talk about how visiting 42 Countries, travelled all over the world.... By the way, she LOST! Hope it's an omen!

He sounds a lot like my father when he talks. Wonder if he has a form of Aspergers?

:banghead: I have to go to bed. WAY past my bedtime. I'd love to stay and hear more about GBC's grandiose thoughts about himself, but I really do need my sleep for work tomorrow. (Still Wednesday on my side of the planet).

G'night mates! I'll see you all on the morrow! :grouphug:

He's making a mockery of the whole of Allison's life. Her parents must be livid! jmo

I honest;y don't know how her family are able to sit through this tripe and not scream, or walk out. I think I'd not be able to control myself.

This is basically invalidating her as a person, a mother.....character assassination. Just about as low as you can get.

Poor old Gerard...His wife was paranoid, depressed, anxious, apparently for years....and he was the caring husband, 'doing everything', 'covering for her' when she didn't want to go out.

What a crock!

4:05pm: Mr Baden-Clay has further explained the development of his wife's depression after the birth of their first daughter.

"To be perfectly candid with you it came to a point where I was doing 80 to 90 to 95 ... I couldn't breastfeed obviously [but] I was doing everything in the home because Allison was in a depressed state that wouldn't really enable her to do anything," he said.

"It was during that time that I lined up an intercom facility from the garage to the house so if she ever needed me she could press a button ... and I would come."

Despite his wife's mental state Mr Baden-Clay said he agreed to travel overseas with his brother Adam.

Yet, Mr Baden-Clay said he returned early from the trip, sensing something was not right with his wife.

Exactly, Neuro: like measles. Or depression, that is passing and can be cured or snapped out of
