That makes no sense - it is well known, and widely reported in the medical as well as mainstream media, that the risk of post-natal depression is HIGHER after caesarean section than after normal vaginal birth.

I don't know of ANY obstetricians who would recommend an elective C-section on the grounds that the mother is prone to post natal depression. If you were aiming to reduce the "psychological pressure of birth" on the mother, you would recommend a vaginal birth - far easier to get over, both physically and psychologically.

Having had one of each I can completely agree with the physical side.

Gerard says he never intended to leave his wife. #badenclay

Well, he did leave his wife......at Kholo Creek

Gerard says Toni called him, he never called her. He would delete the calls from his call history. #badenclay :banghead:

Well, that would be very easy to prove or disprove from phone records.

Gerard says they spent about 20 minutes, maybe a bit more, in the car. Allison didn't finish all the questions she had. #badenclay

Gerard says Allison must have been keeping an eye on the time, because she told him when they should stop. #badenclay

Gerard says they were sitting in their seats in the car, turned to face one another. #badenclay

It might have been Mike Munro and his big red book looking for Gerred.

Mike would need a wheel barrow to carry all the big red books.

Gerard says Allison told him she was feeling very sad about what happened and could she ask him her questions? #badenclay

Gerard says it was not the first time they'd discussed the affair. They'd talked about it many times. #badenclay

Gerard says Toni didn't like what she was doing. Told him she'd had an anxiety attack at work and passed out. #badenclay

Gerard: I was obviously concerned about her. #badenclay

Gerard says he and Toni met on a couple of occasions "and there were two occasions when we did have some physical contact". #badenclay

Methinks he's read too many Bronte novels where the women all get the vapours and pass out at regular intervals - and of course just can't live without him.

the partners statements under oath directly contradict all of Gerards waffling..

Yes but the jury won't be seeing these statements so they aren't very helpful unfortunately :(

  • #817
Gerard said one of the themes Allison would ask about is where he and Toni had "been intimate". #badenclay

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 17s

Gerard says he'd already told her he'd had sex with Toni in the Prado and she refused to drive it after that. #badenclay

2:50pm: Defence counsel Michael Byrne has continued questioning Gerard Baden-Clay about emails between him and his long-time mistress Toni McHugh.

Mr Byrne showed the court the email Mr Baden-Clay sent to Ms McHugh on April 11, 2012, telling her he loved her.

The email read: "This is agony for me too. I love you. I'm sorry you hung up on me. It sounded like you were getting very angry. I love you GG. Leave things to me now. I love you GM."

The court has previously heard the lovers called each other GG for "Gorgeous Girl" and GM for "Gorgeous Man".

Mr Baden-Clay said he wrote the email in an attempt to placate Ms McHugh who was demanding he leave his wife to be with her.

Mr Baden-Clay insisted he never had any intention to leave his wife.
