Byrne says Gerard even demonstrated to the jury using a highlighter how he cut himself. #badenclay

Byrne says if they are not shaving scrapes, what are their significance in this trial? #badenclay

So now they are SCRAPES and not CUTS?

OMG for a second there I thought you said Scraps and wondered if the dog was called to the stand.

She agreed there were limitations without a forensic examination - defence #badenclay

I never knew that to be a good defence lawyer was mostly about spin. Do the best ones do marketing degrees first so they know how to sell?
:scared:
Mostly tongue in cheek

Do you think gerred missed his calling?

Dr Stark said only people present knew how injuries were caused - defence #badenclay

And with that, it's time for another short break at the Queensland Supreme Court to give the jury some relief. Defence continues. #badenclay
Byrne: Stark said her opinion was that the scrapes were from fingernails, but couldn't say so definitively. #badenclay

HERE WE GO :

Byrne is now discussing "the marks on the face of Gerard Baden-Clay".

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 4s
Byrne says Gerard has never, from April 20, 2012, to last week when he gave evidence, made any attempt to conceal the marks. #badenclay

Erm ... how could he have possibly concealed those big wide scrapes down his cheek?

#badenclay jury having another short break to consider the latest in the closing argument from the defence. @7NewsBrisbane

David Murray ‏@TheMurrayD 47s
Jurors, notebooks in hand, leave the court for a brief break #badenclay

This is where I speculated yesterday that the prosecution was going to come undone. Insufficient botanical surveying and the failure to investigate Ms Apps' admission effectively killed off 2 of the prosecutions strongest leads.

Even if you argued that the Ms Apps' evidence was not necessarily fatal to the prosecution cause in itself, if it had come to light earlier then I am quite certain that the PT would have restructured their case in a not insignificant manner. I'm sure Messrs Boyle and Fuller wanted to tear their hair out when informed that investigators had completely overlooked something so vital.

I am still uncomfortable with Mrs Apps coming out so late.

No but the slight inconsistencies that run through this whole trial are astounding :)

I am starting to think that we will not hear the Crown's summing up today....

Almost certainly not, even if the defence wrapped up shortly after the break court will be adjourned until tomorrow morning.

So Allison's hair wasn't completely covered by her jumper? That seems to be what Byrne is suggesting if he is pointing out her hair in the photo.

Our sleuthers in court will confirm this.

Au contraire, Batty: perhaps he has found hs future career....

Funnily enough didn't I read that he was studying law?

Im sick, Im disgusted, had no idea the Law was about lying

The defence are actually connecting some dots for the jury re how Allison came to be changed from pyjamas to walking clothes. Maybe some items of clothing didn't need to be changed, mainly just pyjama pants?
That was my theory. The top half was similar to what people wear to bed. I think he just changed the pants.
