I guess I am dumb as a stump.. have a few questions for you.
When this crime first came to light, thanks to your first post, I could easily find Janet's murder BLOG entries. Now I can't.
Have you moved them?
No -- one I have put back in "draft" -- offline -- status, but the other two are available here;
The Murder of Janet Abaroa...Quiet, Questions...
A Real Crime from April 26, 2005 - The Murder of Janet Abaroa
I was given (legal) advice that I might need to be more careful with some of what I wrote, so I left one entry off-line and edited the other a bit.

Is there ANY chance that you will consider please putting her photo and her story as we know it from the news reports only back to front and center?
I keep thinking that somewhere, some way, someone can force this murder into the public eye in a big way.
I know people are looking at your BLOG, but as I understand it, you have at least 2 BLOGs. Could it be that they are looking at the " Shoeless murder in Louisiana" article and NOT Janet's ( the ones I can't find now are hers).
I am new to the concept of BLOGGING and if your focus is to be absolutely up to date topically, then I can see why her story is pushed back.
Trust me here -- few look at my other blog, it's more just personal blather, non-crime related usually. It would be very hard to ever confuse the two. The shoeless murder articles are in the same blog as the Abaroa murder entries. Here's the key to navigating a blog -- which you can just write in lower case, because it's short for "weblog" -- look on the main page --
http://www.planethuff.com/darkside -- on the right-hand side are various lists of links you can click. They are all pretty well-defined. Among them are my "true crime" archives. The Abaroa murder is always under "unsolved" at the moment. Blogs are always structured this way -- the main page, or index page, which will contain the most current entries, and yes, mine is tied into the news, it's true; my personal, "Steve" blog is not, but the Dark Side is -- and archives. So, when you look at the main page of a blog, look for a search box, and look for archives. If you happen onto archives directly, look at the top of the page for "Main" or just click on the blog's title.

I read at Psyche's Knot BLOG, but something happened to cause her to lock the site or something and now I don't know how to read there. I thought it was great, and I read from it on the BTK case first. Yours is the second BLOG I have read. So both of you have gotten me interested in two fascinating cases.
It has been extremely rewarding to see the BTK killer named, proven by DNA and in jail awaiting trial.
I don't know why Psyche closed her blog to general visitors -- she's very good. I think she may have been unnerved by some of her readers. When you write extensively about true crime, I'm beginning to think that the occasional scary comment or e-mail goes with the territory.

Please continue to champion Janet's case. She deserves justice and a murderer needs to be caught.
One thing that has crossed my mind- have we discussed anything here which could be construed as a " tip" type of info? It would be very interesting to me to see how active LE is working on her case. It seems that Durham has NOT called in any outside help, probably under their belief that it is not a random crime, thus not involving any other jurisdiction.
I have read their area news daily and the numbers of murders and family related assaults seems to have captured the headlines daily in that area. Has her case been pushed aside by LE? Is there " something" which is causing the seeming apathy?
Forums have effected change and provided information to news outlets and LE in the past, as I understand it.
This is one case that I think needs some outside " push" to propel it forward. Maybe we have posted something here which might make a difference?
As far as we know, Raven Abaroa is not under any " umbrella of suspicion". It has not been reported that he has been questioned by police, etc.. Why, with his current pending criminal charges and seeming lack of employment, would he not flee the US *if* he is involved in any way in her murder? I keep thinking that he could easily do so because of his almost total anonymity due to her crime and photos of the couple never being publicized well.
( remembering Scott Peterson's dyed hair, fake ID attempt to flee to Mexico).
I haven't started ignoring the case -- I am just tied to the flow of news, and there has been no news on this one for more than a week. I don't have the resources to investigate certain things myself -- believe me, if I did, I would. The closest I may come is the idea I have that I may attend the Barton Corbin trial here in Georgia when it begins, which would not tax me unduly as it's in the next county over and if it begins this summer my wife, who is a teacher, would be home.
I am going to do this, though -- I'm going to change the post date of the most recent Abaroa entry to keep it near the top of the main index page. I agree that this one needs to stay in the spotlight.
