So we have motion hearings on the 6th, 10th, and 11th of May...plus today's in the civil case.

KC is going to be busy...Jose will be busy...

I want to say "How is it working for you?"

And a question What exactly will be happening at the budget meeting? I know basically it is setting limits on spending for the defense...but what will that mean for KC, Jose, and the trial?

I wonder if his Honor JP is setting these tight deadlines for a reason? He has now let the defense know exactly what he expects from them - oh and the State too. Somehow I don't think the State will have a problem with all this. That old saying "Fish or cut bait" keeps leaping to mind. IF JP feels the defense intends to take this to trial he is telling them get your rear in gear! On the other hand, if the defense has been stalling, lolly gagging, etc. because they know they are going to ask for a plea deal at some point, this is going to make them take those first steps towards talking about a plea. They are not going to do all this work (remember they are getting costs only, not attorney's fees) for no reason, if they are planning on a plea. I think the next 45 days are going to be very interesting!

Okay after looking at the "Order Setting Motion Hearings" here: http://marinadedave.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/order-setting-motion-hearings-5-03-2010.pdf

I am wondering if we have a list of which pending motions that are ripe for hearing. One article I read talked about the COV motion...what other motions will be addressed on the 6th?

I just keep thinking....:croc: sorry can't help it

From what I understand the hearing for the 6th is only to address the issues of budget in this case, and whether the expert witnesses can comply with the JAC rates set forth. It also says "including but not limited to an estimate of hours to be expended by the expert witnesses."

So then on the 10th all other motions (except for any death penalty) which are "ripe" for consideration will be addressed. However Judge Perry wanted a list of those motions along with any witnesses that would be needed to testify in advance. I do not see the COV motion mentioned so now I am wondering if it is considered to be part of the "ripe" motions or is it ot yet "ripe"? LOL!

Lastly the 11th is set to hear all of the death penalty motions that are of issue. So it shall be a very busy week of court dates for Inmate Anthony and her defense team! I wonder who will represent her for the civil suit?

Wow love Judge Perry, he's ready to rock! :)

I honestly think this is why KC was looking so uptight ---a plea is being discussed. What do you bet! But that would irk her sooooo much because remember, she did not do anything..and "will not admit to a crime that she did not do".
JB only got into this for the name recognition. Mason wants to do it for fun (I believe his fun has already ended) and Lyon (no s) also just wants notoriety. None of KC's attorneys really give a fig about her. She is probably now being told that the big party is winding down. They'll want her to plead. With Strickland they would have been able to milk everything forever....the atmosphere is so changed..they've got nothing, we know they've got nothing, it is a lot like when KC reached the end of the hall and was forced into admitting she didn't work at Universal. We're at the end of the hall.

Macushla Judge Perry stated last week that he is strictly for judicial expediency and also judicial economics! In other words he doesn't want to waste state's time or money! :)

ita....I think they thought they could just keep fling and waiting around...I still remember the look on jb when the Judge told him the budget bit should have been done yesterday and that he HAD time next week...jb wasn't ready for that one....can only imagine what is going on at that camp now...
Shouldn't most of what they have already been set forth by now? (in real world/atty paperwork?)--think that all this waiting around and doing nothing then thinking the state would pay for upcoming events....looking forward to the upcoming events...(i also hope that the Judge mentions that they went to interview immediatly after court Thurs --- when jb was supposed to be arranging jac mtg....)

Did I miss it or is there a thread with a bulleted calendar for all the events coming up?. Too hard to scroll through and pick out the dates.

If someone would post them on the case calendar then they will even show up on the main index page

time outs coming for those that insist on using this thread for petty bash posts. It is getting old. Scratch that, it IS old.
Most come to the court calendar thread to see what is up with the new deadlines imposed by the judge and instead we have to wade through posts about KC's ears and what she looks like in what she wearing.
enough already.

where this post lands is random. sort of like a lot of the posts on this thread. :)

You might want to check it and make sure I did it correctly, though. ;)

First time I have ever made an calendar entry. Everything I posted is in May 2010.

Let me know if I need to do it differently. I don't mind keeping up with posting the pertinent dates at all. It is the least I can do around here!

I love this new and improved court calendar, and I love the judge that imposed it! Chief Judge Perry came in the courtroom, sat down, and then proceeded to tell both sides how this case would be run. These hearings and the trial will be run with the dignity that Caylee deserves. With frequently scheduled hearings, the case will move along on schedule and just maybe the trial will start on time.
