The Police Officers in this case

Edward ,If you feel like that about ST-I can only imagine what you think of Chief Kolar!
Both of these gentlemen are the only ones who ever wanted to get justice for JB-
We won't even talk about John and Pasty's form of justice for their daughter!!

Since you asked, I don't think much of Chief Kolar's detective work either.

I'm not nearly convinced that either of these gentlemen are as much committed to getting justice for JonBenet as they are in selling books.

BTW: It is particularly irksome when someone drops the ball so badly and then writes a book about it. It would have been much more polite to quietly fade away.

neither one of these men dropped the ball--it was Hunter,Lacy and the Ramsey & Co who dropped the ball on this!!

speaking of needing to fade away instead of writing books??? maybe JR should listen to that bit of advice. It's 1 thing for a cop to make money off his job, but a whole other for the father of a murdered child to make money off of that child...especially, after a grand jury voted to indict him for her murder! (ewww, just the thought gives me shivers). Maybe instead of writing books and going on book tours, he should have thanked his lucky stars for AH, and then 'quietly faded away'. But really? in the long run, I'm GLAD he writes books and gives interviews...because every time he writes a word or opens his mouth, (just more drama), not only do we get a glimpse of the real man, but we also get to compare all of his many variations of stories. So, he can keep on writing and talking. All moo.

Excuse me, but their job was to figure out who committed this heinous crime. They failed to do this, and they failed badly. Ergo, they dropped the ball.

This was not Hunter's job, nor was it Lacy's job, and it certainly was not the job of the Ramseys or their attorneys.

Both of these men did submitted thorough and laborious presentations to the District Attorneys as to their conclusions about the perpetrators and had recommendations for prosecution, which were not honored by either Hunter (Thomas) or Lacy (Kolar). The investigators did their jobs.

To top it all off, in between the two, the GJ did it's job. So, I rather think the first job slacker was Hunter, and next in line was Lacy, when she issued an "exoneration" based on her own unintelligent appraisal of the results of testing from submitted low quality tDNA.

Fortunately, Garnett has corrected Lacy's statement, stating the R's have not been exonerated. And it remains to be seen what effect learning of the GJ vote, followed by Hunter's ineptitude, might be.

Neither ever presented strong enough evidence to take the case to trial, and certainly not against the bereaved parents of a murdered child.

Despite what Kolar may suggest to the contrary, no evidence of an intruder having been discovered at a crime scene that was highly contaminated and literally trampled under foot, does NOT necessarily translate into there having been no intruder. You cannot go to trial on such bad logic and hope to pull the wool over the jury's eyes. Not only would this be unethical, it would also be extremely foolish considering the caliber of defense which the Ramseys would have retained.

Exactly. I completely agree that the combination of a poorly protected crime scene, and an immediate and overwhelming line of defense is the reason for the R's being able to avoid being charged in these events which they are clearly involved with. JMO of course.

The reporters name is Mitchell Byars. Send your E-mail to byarsm@daily camera.com.
From the article I would say that Assistant DA Ryan Brackely is the man who is spearheading this investigation into the cold case files.
