I sometimes think the judge may say "overruled" to Nurmi because SHE wants to hear the answer!

Well at least I'm not the ONLY one who thinks this!! I've thought the same A LOT of times when listening to this trial!

I love the Psychologist Nancy Grace just had on, and did not catch her name?

Anyone? A lady blonde hair.

Jumping off of your post annagrammy. If JA did confess murder to a Mormon bishop does not mean she would be excommunicated. I give you Anne Perry aka Juliet Hulme. There was a movie about her. Heavenly Creatures She was a murderer, yet the Mormon church embraced her. https://www.lds.org/ensign/1984/01/...velist-with-a-commitment-to-morality?lang=eng No mention of the murder.

I'm a newbie here, so...sorry if I'm out of line, but for those who believe JM did not score some severely major points today, I have to respectfully disagree. First, cross examination is about keeping the witness unstable and off-guard; the whole point is to not let the witness prepare for her answers. So, if you noticed, JM was moving from topic to topic without any transitions...lack of organization is completely by design to keep JA off-guard. Second, cross (or in this case follow-up) is not about landing the ultimate "Perry Mason" moment. Rather, it is about gathering inconsistencies to be argued in closing argument.

So, today we learned:
1. That Jodi said last week that she thought the gun was in a holster, but today....she suddenly can't remember.
2. The 62 second timeline is impossible.
3. No reasonable person could believe that she climbed on the closet shelves without disturbing anything, or flipping one of the shelves.
4. She saw the gun three times: but, none of those times included seeing Travis "load the gun and take it with him." Today was the first time we heard this claim.
5. She remembers, crystal clear, only the events that support her self-defense claims. 6. The height of the closet will not support her version (IMO demonstrated clearly on closing).
7. She only uses Mormon doctrine when it demonstrates that Travis was a heretic.

There are more points that were made, but I thought today was the best day JM had so far. IMHO, at the end of the day, some of the subtle points of today will bite JA in the behind more than any of the obvious inconsistencies.

Please pardon the pretension of my first post, but I am an avid follower of this trial and have been a consistent lurker here!

Great post! Looking forward to reading more from you! :):seeya:

Grrr....just typed something hit backspace and lost it all!!!

Did you hear her when they were talking during the whole "perhaps Travis had the knife" thing? Juan said she never said any of that before. She said no one asked her that question.
She's basically saying unless you are absolutely specific, she can say whatever.

( I'm pretty sure it was the knife. The more I think maybe it was about the gun.) I'm sorry! I'm foggy!

I believe it was the knife.

BBM- great post, thank you. :)

For anyone who doesn't understand what JM is doing, they're thinking WAY too linearly. This is a boxing match and they have to fashion him into a prizefighter. JM is too cagey and smart to go for a knockout in one punch. He hustles and flows, fakes out his opponent, jab, jab, jab...then in rebuttal, BOOM!

She's on the ropes and the jury knows it. Expect her to suck the canvas in 3 weeks. :thud:

And ITA that Matt's voice sounds bizarre- like he's gargling with cut glass. Yikes.

Love, love, love your analogy of a prizefighter. He is sparring with her, and she is losing every time. I'm confident the jury gets that ;).

LOL The guest on NG said Nurmi is over there like he's reading
Goodnight Moon!...

Notice when NG is on the screne with her guests on both sides of her...
Her guests appear crisp and clear, yet NG is slightly blurred...
I think it's a haze filter over the lense to take away the flaws...
I have to say I like her hair tonight.. Much classier than the bowl doooo.

The fact she said she climbed on the shelf story is total lie. There is no way that kind of shelf will hold her weight.
It would either break the pins that hold the shelf up.Or tip the shelf and dump the contents of the shelf onto the floor.
If those shelves are made from particle board would make them even weaker. The board it's self would snap.
The fact she could not reach the gun without climbing onto the shelves is very damming to her story because if the shelves would not hold her weight then there was no gun period.
So how could she have shot Travis? She would have had to have the gun and likely the knife with her when she attacked Travis.
So that would prove her whole story is a lie and would be premeditated murder.

Love it! NG just asked Matt Zarel to recite Jodi's version of the sequence of events and it took him 43 seconds just to say it and he left stuff out... 62 seconds impossible ..as we knew.

Yes and this was my face...

Her big mouth and ego are truly what is going to give her the guilty verdict. This Jury is not stupid.

NG on the phone with Duane Tolman, friend of Travis' who survived the armed robbery with Travis.

I am not sure if this has been posted yet, but why is NG "fuzzed" out? Watching HLN and when the three person split screen is shown, Nancy is kind of blurred compared to the left and right HD resolutions. Vanity? Hide the blemishes/aging? Don't meow me 'cause I'm a guy. I think Oprah was doing the same near the end of her regular shows before the network stuff......just wonderin'

Just continuing her pattern of fitting her story to fit whatever the latest evidence she becomes aware of.

She becomes aware the timeline does not allow for her trying to locate the knife (she had already invented a rope to explain why there was a knife in the bedroom!) so...well maybe Travis had it--ever think about THAT Mr. Martinez?? You didn't ask the right question..

Well Miss Jodi, the guy you killed coming at you with a KNIFE is generally information you VOLUNTEER in a SELF DEFENSE case :banghead::banghead::banghead:

She didn't need to walk or run to the knife. The rope had a noose on the end... So she simply lassoed the knife with the rope! Yee Haw!

JM was grinning a bit when JA said that she was 5'6" (66") and could look at eye level at the photo on the first shelf. He knew she pulled yet another boner.

Eye level is 5" from the top of your (adult) head, so (according to JA) the middle of the photo on the shelf would have to be 61" (5'1") from the floor of the closet, meaning that the shelf is only 56" (4'8") from the floor.

Typical doors are 81" from the floor to the bottom of the door jamb. According to Jodi, that door must be about 6" high!

Typical doorknobs are 36" from the floor. You can easily see in the photo where the doorknob is and where it connects with the door jamb.

I believe the measurements on the floorplan JM used in his OS only include widths and lengths, but not the heights.

If Jodi stepped onto the third shelf from the floor, that would be like stepping up about 30" - 36". Try that at home!

Great post! Even if we don't know the measurements of the room, if you look at the duffle bag/briefcase on the floor that looks to be about a foot or so high, then the jeans are hanging long-wise above them (and Travis was almost 6'), you're already looking at 7' approximately right there. She's 5'6" and is looking at that picture eye-level??? :waitasec:

A little OT but just trying to possibly help Brandi out or any of you who accidentally hit their "backspace" bar. I have a Mac so not sure if this works the same on a PC but if/when I accidentally hit "delete" on my Mac (which is the same as what "backspace" is on a PC) and accidentally erase what I've typed, if you go up to the bar for your web browser (see my pic below to see what I'm talking about exactly) and click "Edit", in the drop-down menu there should be an option for "Undo"; when I click that, it makes my accidentally released stuff reappear (most of the time). Not sure if it works the same on PC but incase it does, just trying to help provide and easy fix/solution for future accidents.
