And compartmentalization is a common trait for sociopaths and narcissists. A quick google search verifies that. Not to say all people who can do this are sociopaths of course, but IMO Ross was a master manipulator.

Maybe it was something like that. But he was very gregarious and laughing very hard. Not that earth shattering or that important. But it really struck me because I was feeling so emotional about Cooper and nervous about the gravity of the situation and the jury watch beginning---and it seemed so odd to see the defendant so relaxed and unconcerned---when he is the one who would be the most impacted by this situation.

And Gnight---get some rest and relaxation. Tomorrow is a busy day...

I'll have yours Bette. Please!

Be my guest :) I rarely drink an alcoholic beverage other than wine (primarily red). An occasional Margarita or Sangria at a Mexican restaurant. I DO use Tequila or Vodka in marinades, Cognac in gravies, Pernod with seafood, good wines for cooking (and drink the rest) ;)

I don't think anyone is begrudging him to ability to laugh or joke and force him to be solemn and condemned to be miserable every second every minute of every day. I think in this case it was a time and place issue....they just did closing arguments and said sad and awful things about him and accused him of murder of his baby. He is absolutely, without question, going to jail for quite a long time due to the minor charges. That should have been hitting him like this :bricks:
Instead the booming laughter mere seconds after he looked so devastated to the jury as the walked out the door was disconcerting. It's not rational within context.

Good red my main tipple too. I've never used Pernod with seafood, only chicken. Is it mainly prawns/lobster you use it with?

I've never had venison. I was just talking to someone who was raised in venison as a staple. They didn't have a lot of money but there were lots of deer and they hunted. She told me she hated it and hates it now because it was greasy and "gamy". How would you describe it?

I'm assuming this is an invitation to dinner at your place.

Thanks!

:)

Come on over! Mesquite grilled ribeyes. No fancy drinks though. We have beer. Or water, or beer

Respectfully, who are we as the public not involve but following from afar, to have any say in how he or anyone else acts? Not meaning to be snarky. But we are not his keeper or have a say on how he acts, or whom he interacts with. Not our place.

Trying to get caught up in this new thread and for a few minutes I was almost giddy thinking that once drinks were served we were all getting along a bit better (adversaries Thanking each others' posts, a bit of lighthearted discussion over wine) but reading further it seems things are getting uglier than ever. :(

Please, for the sake of this poor baby who suffered a horrific death while in his father's care (whether accidentally or purposefully - we all pretty much know where we stand individually), can we just try to be less judgemental of each other, less harsh. Clearly many of us are stressed out (no thanks to the election, let alone the verdict watch) but a little kindness and understanding - or a lot less negativity - would seem to be in order for those who are here in part to honor the memory of little Cooper

MOO - peace.

Not greasy or gamey at all. If you clean it properly and process it (I do all that...clean it, quarter it then cut up into back straps , cutlets, roasts, grind some for ground meat and strips for jerky). Then freezer paper.
It's very lean

I've never had it either, and part of the reason is because that's the exact description I've always heard as well! I'm most interested in that cheesey heavenly looking thingy!

Oh and the beer....with a side of beer as well

Since we are on the subject of alcoholic beverages, am I the only person alive who dislikes Tequila?? I'm more of a rum girl myself...

Thats what I figured. They don't seem like they'd be greasy or gamy. Anything that free range has to be pretty good.
Now BEAR. That seems like it would be a different story. Ok. I will try it next time I get the chance.

We host duck hunters at our field outside of our city. It depends on how you cook anything you are hunting. And prep it. I'm always in for a nice glass of Pinio. Just so ya know.

Apparently one has to try the good tequila. Petron I believe it's called. I still didn't like it.

I really like vodka best I think...current drink of choice is blueberry vodka with cranberry juice....

That was not my quote - I was pasting and quoting someone else and it somehow didn't show up.

glad to see everyone relaxing and getting a bit more comfortable. The point of a sidebar thread when the trial enters the deliberation phase, at least I have always believed, is to give everyone a place to gather with fellow obsessed case followers, unwind, and recall what we like about each other.

The case has been argued, both in the courtroom and out. Both sides of the case have launched impassioned arguments here and in the courtroom. That phase is over. It's in the jury's hands now.

Time for us to wait. Pull up a chair, sit a spell and unwind. And hey if you want to tell me what awesome thing you are having for dinner, so much the better. Especially those of you living out of the microwave and crockpot the last several weeks. :)
