YUmm, a bakery..... What are your Canadian offerings? My sweet Mother-in-law grew up in Prince Edward Island and every Thanksgiving she made delicious glazed fruit pastries and blueberry strudel and pumpkin/cranberry spice bread.

We make butter tarts and Nanaimo bars and donuts and maple bacon cookies amongst several dozen other things. Your mom-in-law's treats sound amazing! Did she bake them for Canadian or American Thanksgiving?

We are baking pumpkin apple bread for the holidays. And pies too! I know you're on the west coast so if your're ever in Vegas, please PM me and I'll spoil u rotten if u stop by to visit. My shop is called Salted Malted and we are the only Canadian restaurant in he US (as far as Google shows LOL). (Ps I'm a Kate and I did I did!)

OMG the Whipped Cream flavor!! LOVE!!! Sigh....

The manufacturers are definitely trying to appeal to young drinkers - which is kinda sad. They have a Swedish Fish flavor for goodness sake. What'a next? Gummy Bears? Skittles???

ETA So sorry - replying to Katy's comment about flavored vodkas...

Oh I will. LOL My kids dragged me to Vegas for my birthday last year and I LOVED IT. we had way too much fun.

My MIL moved to Boston with her family as a teen. But those were all family recipes from her grandmother in PEI. I have asked my sis-in-law for copies of the recipes and if she ever sends them I will PM you a copy. lol

I love butter tarts. My DH would love maple bacon cookies. We might have to make another trip to Vegas. Especially if My RAIDERS move out there.

I KNOW. My daughter and her best friend got really sick a few years ago, when they were first legal drinking age, by guzzling down ' cake batter' Smirnoff and milk. She said it was like drinking a shake. And lots of college kids at the party were doing the same.

Oh, wow. Taleka Patrick. I honestly haven't though of her in a long time. I followed that one, too. So incredibly sad. It's weird how some cases/people slip away through good intentions and some stay with you forever. Cooper will stay with me forever.

Alanna Gallagher was the first one I really followed and commented on here. That was right in my neighborhood at the time.

I was on Dr Patrick's case. The video of her in the hotel...just standing there. Strangest thing. And her love affair that wasn't or was it? I was so troubled by that case.

Holiday cocktail: Spiced Apple Vodka shaken; not stirred, with Ginger Ale Bellisimo!

Whipped vodka with Sunkist orange soda is like a freaking adult Creamsicle.

I am seriously beside myself with joy right now. My boyfriend is officially out of Kuwait, on a plane to Germany for reintegration! He's been gone since February and will be home in three weeks!!!!!!!!! :loveyou:

They're coming!!! Plus NHL! Vegas is joining the big leagues finally.

And ps . The thought of meeting u in person actually makes me tremble a bit. Is that weird and if yes sorry but I spend a bit of time wondering what brilliance would look like in person! I'm a fairly novice forum participant - WS my only) so I may be out of line wishing I could share this obsession with like-minded folks over a cup of coffee (or vodka, or wine ...)

Quoting u again but "DRAGGED you to Vegas"??? Must have been so hard for you to finally agree :( LOL Hope u had an amazing time. I live in the 'burbs and don't do much outside of running my store and hanging out here with all of you, but I must admit I live in a pretty exciting city! Cant figure out your locale tho - could be LA or Bay Area because RAIDERS!!!

Grew up in Bay Area---hence the Raiders. But married and moved to Southern Cali 35 years ago. We lived in Venice/Santa Monica area for 15 years, Ventura County for 17 years, and just recently moved to woodland hills area in the dreaded valley.

I said 'dragged' me to Vegas because I had wanted to go up North to Santa Barbara to lounge on the beach and visit the wineries. But my daughter thought that sounded way to boring so she and my son and husband took control of the situation, lol...it was fun for sure. Stayed at Luxor and drank a lot and lost plenty of $ at the games, but I guess that is what they mean by ' it STAYS in Vegas,,,'

PS===also, my 86 yr old mom and my brothers and families live in Reno area. So if my whole family goes on a vacation, I felt we should go to Reno not Vegas...but I do go to Reno every 2 months or so..

I prefer elk meat to venison. My former grandmother in-law would make mince meat pie filling with elk meat if the boys bagged an elk during hunting season. It makes the best mince meat pie ever!

I prefer a good cabernet to hard alcohol cocktails. I also love a big mug of Irish Breakfast tea with a shot of Baileys in it. The latter is how we start our mornings at Burning Man every year :happydance:

Some of the best things to come out of Canada are poutine and nanaimo bars. And one of my best friends, who lives outside of Montreal.

I'm celebrating the closing today of a new loan refinancing my mortgages. Saving about $350/month with my new payments and getting enough cash out of my equity to renovate my bathroom. woohoo!

The jurors and Cooper are in my thoughts and prayers tonight.

I had bear for the first time a few years ago, but drenched in brown sugar and butter... it was amazing!

Wow. Who woulda thunk it! I guess the bottom line is anything that doesn't come out of a plastic package is probably pretty good.

Looks nice!!! I am headed to TX on Wednesdays, but to the Waco area. Headed to my daughters as she is having surgery on Thursday. I will most likely miss the Verdict. As I have missed most of the trial, and played catch up. My phone will get a workout.

Have family in the Waco to thru Ft Worth Dallas area. Be down that way around Thanksgiving. Thought I was going to have to listen to trial on vacation too lol. Has anyone heard of anyone giving verdict alert text for this case? Years ago I followed some FL cases and signed up for alerts with Orlando Sentinel. They gave heads up verdict is in text messages. TIA if anyone knows of any.
