Saw this on another site.... not very reassuring... makes sense of why the sudden rest. :dunno:

OMG that is terrifying! Is it possible to link to this site, I am dying to read all I can about this case.

Yes, I see it. Looks tubular and metallic!

Wish we could see this pic like the jury did, as seeing the other 'dragging' photo as on their screen made it so much clearer.

I am not too worried about this motion for mistrial (the argument was crazy... they have the texts that they were arguing about.. and the state did not even introduce them)

I don't think that is why the court schedule is messed up.. it has been messed up from the start.

I think the state presented solid evidence.. and enough too. All of it? no. But they don't need to.

If the defense tries to open cans of worms (I am sure they will) during their CIC I am sure they will regret it.

Good morning!

I am catching up...a little confusing on IS this am as Jodi's in that green shirt she wore the last day .

I heard Christi Paul say people were guessing Jodi didn't know the camera was in the wash and had gotten it caught up in the clothing when she grabbed them to put in the wash.

I disagree with that. I think she was trying to destroy any fingerprint evidence on the camera and just thought her deleted photos were gone forever.

Also the fact that someone stayed long enough to do the frikkin laundry (at least one full wash cycle then reload the washer) is someone who was very comfortable in that home.

Did Martinez point that out in his closing?

Jumping off your post.

I strongly lean towards her putting the camera in the washer on purpose to wash any trace of her DNA/prints off of it.

If she was a real photographer she would know that the memory card could survive a wash cycle and deleted photos can most times be recovered.

Do you remember Christi Paul when she was a weekend anchor on channel 3 here in Phoenix? Took me a bit to figure out where I remembered her from.
:)

If Jodi is going for self defense, isn't it the responsibility of the Defense to prove this? I think the prosecution did what they needed to, now it's the defense problem to prove self defense. Am I on track?

I hate to start the debate again about what came first - the stab or the gun shot but - i was a believer that she stabbed him first. However I have changed my mind because I just can't bring myself to believe that JA would try to strike an initial incapicating blow with a knife. Just doesn't seem logical that she would do that. Too chancy. Nobody is going to take a knife to a gun fight so to speak

Think about it. TA is sitting in those last two pics with his back against the shower wall and his right forehead is facing JA as she took those two pics. I think she is pointing the gun at him and eventually shoots him in that position. The trajectory would be correct. From above down from right forehead to the left cheek.

But after being shot he defies odds and manages to get up. He is obviously totally disoriented and does not recall what has happened to him. Maybe he knocks the gun from her hand. Maybe it jammed.

Travis makes it to the sink and is bleeding profusely from the gun shot. He is bleeding from the forehead and the mouth hence the blood pattern here. Maybe his sight is affected.

JA begins to viciously stab him in the back. He turns around to protect himself. This is where the defensive hand wounds were inflicted. JA manages here to plunge the knife into his chest mortally wounding him again. All of the chest wounds were inflicted here.

Travis collapses and tries to crawl out of hell. He makes it to the threshold where the bit**inflicts the final blow. He dies here.

JA rolls Travis on to a sheet and drags him back to the bathroom. In doing so she manages to kick the bullet casing and it ends up on top of a blood splatter which then glues it in place.

I am rambling I know but that's how I see it happening.

This is exactly the way I see but you have laid it out so much better. thank you for this post.

I think that shot to the head affected his eyesight so IMO he is swinging his arms blindly, kwim. I think this is where he knocks the camera out of her hands and we get the picture of the ceiling.

That's why she looks so familiar! I was trying to figure out where I had seen her before. :applause:

*What if* the defense decides to just go to closing arguments and argue that the prosecution has never met it’s burden and that there can only be a finding of not guilty as she is charged. I have an uneasy feeling with it being such a long time til they are back in the court room... and with Mr. Martinez resting... just like that.. out of the blue.

Yes and I think this also best explains why he couldn't seem to defend himself by hurting her back. Whatever first blow she landed, it had to have been quite disabling immediately.

if they just go to closing arguments.. well this is all over and let's wire up the needle now :-) :twocents:

they have shown premeditation, murder, and connect her to it.. with no remorse (two utah witnesses) after the fact.

The state met their burden imhoo.

I am almost positive the defense team will be back with the entire kitchen sink in a catapult-type implement

the delay could also be related to the juror misconduct allegations... (just throwing that out there)

it is in the timeline thread (the post from the minutes)

Hi LB...

they don't make cameras for lefties. Not economically feasible. Only 11% of the population is left-handed.

Haven't seen the image yet, the link to the photo you're talking about isn't working. Are you sure she is not shooting into a mirror?

A lefty could use a right handed camera upside down and use left thumb to operate camera

I will have to find it, but I recall Sheriff Joe letting them watch some news, educational programming and Disney movies. He instituted that at the same time he made the inmates wear pink and served them bologna sandwiches.

Like i hate when theres a trial like this one...and the jurors are not in a hotel with no visitations and etc....Because hey i am in canada..i watch FRENCH news and its on every day...like so i dont believe that none of them saw, heard, talked about it or even read about it.

I'm just not understanding this. She has confessed about killing Travis, this is a given. The defense has to try to prove self defense, I don't think the prosecution has disproven this, unless we have juror transplants from Florida.

ETA: even if the defense rested, closing arguments will open the big can of worms and it will be the last things the jury will hear. I think that is what they will remember. The prosecution will pull out the big big guns in closing.

Beth Karas said something this morning about the defense needing more time. Apparently 4 years wasn't long enough. :pullhair:
