I believe the Law of Attraction comes from the book The Secret which was a very popular self help book that focused a lot on how to attract money to your life among other things.

I believe there are references to it on one of their blogs

Hi, Human. The Law of Attraction has a long history dating back to the late nineteenth century. In our time, The Secret certainly popularized it.

Jodi seemed to view it as a kind of justification of destiny.

P.S. A completely unrelated aside: In the recent Arias interview mentioned previously here, she mentions that she was disciplined for hiding pens while incarcerated. It occurs to me that Jodi might have used these instruments to concoct her Travis "I am a deviant" forgery. It exists only as a photocopy (probably smuggled out of prison), but even such a derivative copy could be easily identified as having been written in (jailhouse permissible) pencil or (outlawed) pen.

Maybe the bottom of the shower door frame?

If you look at the photo in the upper left side it looks like the same zipper as in the dragging photo but from another angle. So possibly an additional dragging or pushing photo where it is just her thigh/lower leg and in the colorization used to enhance the photo again .. it is definitely where the carpet meets the tile hall and the threshold over that seam in the floor but zipper is in this one again

You would think that with all the true crime shows about women that men would be scared poopless of us. Deadly Women, Wives With Knives, Snapped.:gasp:

Don't forget deadly sins. And women with knives

.25's are small guns and have been known to jam. There is no way of knowing when the gun may have been cleaned last or how old it was. It was her grandfathers, so who knows? Different things could cause a gun to jam.

Ask any LE if they would even consider using a .25 and the answer would be no. I think Jodi took the .25 because it was small and could be easily concealed. I further think that it was her weapon of choice and she shot TA using a throw pillow with tassels from the bedroom to muffle the sound.

As far as the bullet casing on the floor, I have often thought they were wrong about the blood pooling. The bullet casing could have already been on the floor and the blood slowly pooling around it. That could possibly be the reason there was no blood found on the top of the casing. Anyway; just my thoughts!

I just have to say that I believe the gunshot was first, then the stabbings, then the throat cut because TA was still clinging to life.

Just jmo.
I agree with everyone.. everyone has made good points that is for sure!

I wonder if Jodi's cell mates see trial coverage, it has got to be all over the evening news in Arizona, they could watch with their dinner. Even Jodi herself.

Think Tv has limatations on what is viewed

Hi obe!! :seeya:

I think she's a textbook sociopath which is with "morbid curiosity" that I watch her. I first saw this chick on the 48 Hrs episode and honestly I rewound that show and watched the entire thing over again to just watch her spin her spin.

The question I keep asking is if the defense can put on a (preposterous) theory and offer expert opinions on the "abuse" and "self defense" , why can't the State put up their own expert to explain to the jury the elements of sociopathy and lay it all out for them from that angle? I don't think I've ever seen that in court. I'd love to see it. In fact, I could pick just the expert to do it (Candace De Long). :D

Rebuttal. I think the prosecutor is waiting for the defense so the last thing the jury hears is an expert explaining who JA really is and why she killed TA, which had nothing to do with abuse. Not sure defense wants to open that door and I bet they are hoping to work on Jodi to get her to agree to a plea agreement before the trial continues. My guess is they will get the same blank stare that Anthony's attorney, Mason got from KC. jmo

welcome laceybug :cheer: !!!

totally good point that the dark hair was so she looked like mimi!

(and that is creepy to think about)

I too wondered about the roommates and, as a juror, would have asked the same questions.

Did Mimi also drive a white car?

I agree! Great thoughts texasbluesman!

(I might I have to change my vote)
:escape:

question however: can she shoot this gun with one hand? she had the camera in the other hand

Yes, she can SHOOT the gun with one hand, and I have thought about the camera, too.

As any lefty will tell you, we live in a right-handed world. Cameras are made for right-handed people with the shutter release on the top right. If this were her first time with a camera in her right hand, I would see a problem. But, what are we told but she is a photographer? So I think it's safe to assume that she is more comfortable with a camera in her non-dominant hand than she would be with a gun.

So, in this situation, she uses the gun in her naturally dominant hand and the camera in the other.

The problem for her if/when the gun jams is that she can't clear it easily. She needs two hands for that. AND, again the right-handed-world problem, since the shell casing is now caught in the frame opening on the top right she can see it and see the problem, but not how to fix it. If she drops the camera, she still is not sure how to clear the weapon. She would naturally use her left hand to hold the grip while pulling the slide back with her right, but she would have to put her right hand over the shell casing, possibly keeping it from ejecting. What she NEEDS to do is move the pistol into her right hand and pull the slide with her left, allowing the casing to eject from the top right.

I'm guessing, since all of this happened very quickly, she dropped the gun, went to the knife. After things settled down a bit, she came back to the gun and CLEARED the slide using both hands.

Shoot with one hand? yes. Clear? no

Good morning!

I am catching up...a little confusing on IS this am as Jodi's in that green shirt she wore the last day .

I heard Christi Paul say people were guessing Jodi didn't know the camera was in the wash and had gotten it caught up in the clothing when she grabbed them to put in the wash.

I disagree with that. I think she was trying to destroy any fingerprint evidence on the camera and just thought her deleted photos were gone forever.

Also the fact that someone stayed long enough to do the frikkin laundry (at least one full wash cycle then reload the washer) is someone who was very comfortable in that home.
Did Martinez point that out in his closing?

BBM

Very very good point.

Somebody who knew that there wouldn't be a person coming home and walking through the door.

I will have to find the picture I saw.. but I saw a picture of her holding a camera in her right hand (it was a picture of someone taking a picture of her taking a picture lol)

can guns be shot in either hand??? (I only ask because I know NOTHING about guns... I can drop an ET tube or an NG tube but don't know the first thing about a gun)

I think guns are ambidextrous.

Why have a camera in her hand and a gun in the other? Do you think she practiced shooting the gun? I think for a novice, you would want to be really concentrating on doing a good job of shooting.

She is crazy, but does she really believe that she would be that competent with a gun?

I think most people know that shooting a gun and hitting the target where you want to is not easy. Or does she think she is that special?

  • #856
Me too .he did show her two photos.

I think the main point he wanted to make is this woman really doesnt know the real Jodi Arias at all. He brought it back to reality imo.

And how many times have we heard others say in so many other cases..........'omg I would have never dreamed they could do something like this........they were always so nice and sweet.' No one really knows what is in someone's mind or what they are capable of doing.

Ted Bundy comes to mind.

I would not be surprised to see new attorneys or added after the hiatus.

I think defense needs the time off to subpoena, Lisa, the woman who did not want to testify. jmo

I'm a righty but looking at my 38 semi automatic pistol it looks like it wouldn't make a difference in pulling the trigger.

ETA: re earlier discussion of who keeps a pistol in the bath -- I do. Well, at least I sometimes do. Living alone after being widowed I sometimes tuck a pistol under a towel on the bathroom counter.
