I know. She has plenty of gloves. It couldn't possibly be her because she'd be humane and would wear gloves.

I know...good God. Do you think she did?

:welcome6: sourgrapes!!! Great 1st post.

Why did she wait that long knowing the roommate could come home?

I ruined my eyes during the CA trial. I felt so abused in the end...no lube, no keychain either.

(my smilies came back!)

:thumb: True, young people fool themselves and believe their own bs when they say "I don't care anymore". They need reminders of what they really do care about before they decide to throw it all away.

:jail:

I've watch those tv shows of real prison life, especially in the old jails with the noisy doors and yelling. :scream: That noise would be torture for me year after year. I don't want to sleep on the middle bunk bed either, or room with people who kill. :shakehead: But that's just me.

I've watched a few of those shows as well back when I was a teen myself. I knew right then I would never do anything to land in jail or prison.

No whirlpool tubs
Two inch mattresses
1 crappy pillow
Lousy thread count or sheets and you just know there is no fabric softener
Crappy sandals
Ugly wardrobe
No choice for meals
Stubby pencils
No HD, premium channels, or dvr
No ipad or iPhone

I'd rather be dead

I do. But then she cut herself, she probably took that one off to check out her wound. Curious if her finger injury is on the same hand as the palm print left on the wall with both of their blood.

i everyone! :seeya: I'm a new poster, but long-time reader.

I began reading all of your (excellent) posts on the JA case five days ago! The past two days my eyes have been blood-shot red. I'm not sure if it is due to no sleep, no blinking, or both! I do know that my reading these posts are the reason. I just can't stop, it is like an addiction.

Anyway, I do have a question (or two?) and just can't seem to get caught up to see if they have already been answered somewhere in these threads. Forgive me, if it/they have been.

I just can't come up with a good reason for Jodi to wait to the very last minute to commit the murder. Why did she wait until minutes before the roommate was due home? Why not when Travis was vulnerable, in bed and naked? That was a great opportunity to shoot the gun, instead of the camera.

(Speaking of camera) Was she EXPECTING to change her mind? Why take pictures, unless to have evidence of their (perceived) sexual relationship? For Mimi to see? hmmm?

I know that there has been many discussions as to the possibility of her hoping Travis would change his mind and bring her along on the trip, instead of Mimi. But, then doesn't that negate the idea of her taking photos for evidence of their relationship?

I'm sorry, just thinking out loud here. I know that answers to these questions aren't necessary for the trial (or guilty conviction); however, (like a few other posters here) I like to get inside the mind of the killer. I simply cannot accept the idea of "well, she is just ___(insert label)" and leave it alone.

hi sourgrapes,

First of all I'm right there with you trying to get inside the head of this killer AND what I know is that no matter how hard you try , you really can't understand the workings of this kind of (evil) toxic mind. Doesn't mean we don't try to though. It's like studying some kind of alien being under a micrcoscope.

I'm thinking the camera and last minute speak to the same thing. Jodi was desperately hoping she could influence Travis to get back to some kind of special relationship with her. She was prepared to be disappointed for the last time. But she still was holding out. Thus the (maybe) sex, the photos, the waiting. I think those things demonstrate what lingering ambivalence she had. BUT I also think she was fully prepared to kill him should the inevitable occur (inevitable meaning his continued rejection of her).

But it could also be the humiliation with the photos notion..but that doesn't equate with her trying to destroy the camera (why she didn't just take that camera with her I'll never understand...unless she just brought with her, that which she brought to the scene...worried maybe she'd get busted with anything from his home in her car).

That's all I got...welcome! Got Visine? ;) :seeya:

in opening statements juan said she washed him off with a cup. i heard it this am replaying in sesions

Did you listen to defense openings again? I just did and about the only thing I got out of it was the lawyer tried to argue the killing was not premeditated because of the short time frame, but the PA objected and it was not allowed.

That is what my husband thinks. He does not watch the trial or read forums, I just filled him in on a few details and he thinks the gunshot came last. I read alot and sometimes my mind spins with all the info so I am not sure. But my husb. thought after all the damage JA inflicted on TA and in his last breath, movement, she shot him because he would not die.

Hi, I cant see how anyone would really move with their throat totally slit to the spine, unless the body was having reflex movement and she thought he was still alive. It could scare the carp out of you ( my funeral director boss) told me it happened to him on one of his first calls, they burp and all sometimes. A slit throat cuts breathing and all. Maybe it is possible I'm not sure...Sulamith nice to meet you.:seeya:

I saw Dear Zachary a few years ago. It is horrible. Sometimes I wish I would have never watched it but when I watched it I had no idea that a baby was involved. IMHO..I could never compare it to JA murdering TA. Zachary was a 13 month old baby who was murdered. Totally innocent.

Very disturbing, heart wrenching documentary so beware.

I compare the pathology to Jodi in the fact that this obsessed woman, a pathological liar, the same kind of glib inappropriate voice/affect, drove hundreds of miles for the sole purpose of murdering the man who jilted her. It's a cautionary tale about what can happen if a person like this is left "on the loose" imo.

I can relate to wishing I hadn't watched it but later I was glad I did if nothing else for solidarity and compassion for the grieving family. I've written them a couple of times after seeing it. Unimaginable grief. And I know something about grief.

I appreciate your warnings. Scared to watch it right now. Sounds like it's going to rip my heart out.

I'm with you here. I suspect she kept all her "murder kit" items neatly organized in a backpack (didn't she say she went in with a backpack?).

It will. But with that said, it is a very very well done film. And a cautionary tale. I personally found it important to view it because it really did happen...and this poor family really are living with this tragedy every day. :(

I haven't heard that part...where are you listening Jax?

I believe it wasn't about taking photos, she used the camera to lure him into a vulnerable position in the shower so she could plunge that knife in his chest.

I think she shot him to make it appear that there were two perps involved.

I think Jodi decided Travis was going to die that day no matter what.

Linda, you really thought about it. Wow. I might be able to live with lousy thread count and no fabric softener. Crappy pillows are a deal breaker though. Can I have an electric blanket on cold nights?

Yeah, it's called rubbing your hair on your scratchy pillow case until it creates some "electricity". That's all the electric blanket you get. :jail:
