I have to say this though it won't be popular.

I think the reason that the jurors had the questions they did was because they feel (at this point) that "something isn't right" with the witnesses testimony.

I started out watching this being completely objective. I didn't know about the case, nor did I have any preconceived notions.

I felt Flores was cagey. Although his video'd interrogation was mostly superb, his testimony in court felt very engineered, like it was designed to only reveal pro-prosecution info, but that he was withholding stuff. I can't think of an example right now, but I had a distinct impression.

Then Melendez testified and I felt a similar feeling. On direct, Juan got Melendez to say that the last activity on the computer was at 3:34PM. BUT THEN in cross, the defense confirmed, after an objection and sidebar which was apparent to the jury, that the actual last activity on the computer was 4:54PM. That's over an hour difference. Maybe it's an innocent mistake, but there was an objection by Juan and a sidebar to discuss this timing difference.

The ME testimony in some ways does not seem to match his report, and there is the whole deal about whether he spoke with Flores about the gunshot being first, which Flores put into his report. While the ME may never have said this, the controversy may well be causing the jury to wonder about what he might be withholding or hiding or even misrepresenting.

I think the jury may be picking up on some feelings of having something pertinent purposely withheld from them. Whether it makes a difference or not, who knows, but no one likes feeling manipulated by misinformation or partial truths, IMO.

There are some other things I noticed, but I can't think of them right now. But something doesn't feel right.

That said, the more I learn, the more I personally feel that this was premeditated. But I am eagerly awaiting JA's "story". If nothing else, it should be fascinating.

T's sister - the girl they keep showing.

  • #1,384
Who is that woman they keep showing in the gallery of the courtroom.

The one who looks to have dyed very dark black hair?

tia

Just logged in and reading backwards so I've got to ask. Where are y'all seeing this? Live now or replaying the trial?
After Friday I will be able to get Trutv and Insessions but right now I watch trial live on computer.

I think so.

They show Travis sister T <mod snip> quite a bit who has very long straight hair black with blond streaks. She usually has a look on her face of extreme pain. She's probably early 30's?

Jodi's Mom looks middle aged, shorter wavy hair..glasses?

Just to add about T <mod snip>...I sat directly behind her the day I went to court. She's very pretty in person. She looks a lot like Travis. Her husband is extremely attentive to her in court. She smiled at me when i took my seat which made me feel good..that she could still smile.

Katie,
Remember in the FL, CA case, we had access to all evidence, witness lists, jail visits, ect?
FL has the "sunshine law" to release all info.
Someone legal can explain it better than I, but I WANT it in this case. lol

I guess I'm still confused about the cross when D brings up a witness.
If the DT brings up a text, or e-mail, can the state ONLY talk to those specific ones on cross examination, or can they go through all of them?

Well I think if they are still discussing text or email the state will be able to widen the scope.

I know the defense has asked questions that werent follow up questions that had already been asked by the state so I dont see why it would be any different in the defense case.

imo

Oh thanks. She is probably so angry and hurt its hard to sit there in the same room with whoredom.

Is this the same sister that had long blonde hair and she and Travis took their pic together about 2 weeks before he was killed?

imo

BBM. Well then, JA herself, would be the person causing the Jury the most problems in this area. No?

They are replaying the ME's testimony today on In Session...with tons of commentary and even more commercials.

THE most interesting thing today was that the defense motion to toss out the Felony Murder option was denied. That surprised me honestly. But it works well for the State (and will be appealed ad nauseum after she's convicted and sentenced to Death for sure--really hope the Judge has good support for this decision).

Now the jury can be split on whether or not they agree to the premeditation and still convict her on First Degree Murder and qualify her for the DP.

Hmmm I don't think so. but that sister is also in court. They just seem to focus more on Tanisha. Probably because her emotions are so readable on her face.

The jury saw her interrogation where Jodi says that she never met with the friend she intended to see in LA. In fact, she never had even made plans with that Laura girl in LA to visit -- she had just called Laura and was waiting to hear back from her; meanwhile she traverses the whole state of California in a rental car to visit Laura, even though she had not heard back from her. Uh huh ....

Thanks! I must have missed that part of the interrogation video.
