I've been busy nursing a sick cat and two new kittens and only caught some of the IS coverage today.

It bothered me a great deal when, in her interrogation with Flores, Jodi started going on and on about how Travis' death must have had a terrible impact on them. Concerning that, she mentioned that it was TEMPROARY!

That one little comment made me realize that Jodi has no concept of the impact of the death of a loved one has on those around him/her. Add to that a heinous, vicious, and cruel murder, and you have pain in those friends and family members.

For her, it was a temporary condition which would magically disappear as they moved on with their lives.

As for Jodi, she got over it pretty fast. Snap of a finger and she had already moved on... to Ryan.

Hi, CarolinaMoon. I suspect that Jodi has very little compassion for Travis' family and friends because she believes (in most instances, quite rightfully) that they were skeptical of the match.

I think there were at least 2 "bullies" on the Pinellas 12 jury-- from the media interviews they gave after the verdict.

I'm on the fence about the value and wisdom of jury sequestration.

The bigger issue with the jury selection process is, IMO, that the more high profile (and longer) the case, the narrower the slice of the population that is available, willing, and able to serve. Very few employed people can afford to be on a trial longer than a few days or a week duration. Employers seldom provide more than a few days wages to employees on jury duty (if they have compensation at all), and the states only pay $10-20/ day. So what we have is a skewed pool of applicants for jury duty before the voir dire ever begins. And that skewed pool, IMO, excludes most employed people (which includes more educated people, professionals, self employed, etc), people with small children, etc. I am not saying the pool we have left is not good, only that the available pool increasingly represents a smaller slice of the population. I don't think that is a good trend. Combine that with attorney preference for "blank slate" jurors (less educated, less life experience), and the trend is compounded.

In the CA trial, there were people who got excused because they had plants to water and house cats to feed.

In any case, I don't want to derail the thread with discussions about jury reforms, but I do think it is one of our biggest needs in both the civil and criminal trial process. We have a good system of justice, but there are many areas, IMO, that need reforms.

There is a lot of wisdom in what you are saying. And a lot to think about for the future of our legal system.

Oh, I don't think I'd want to put her on a chain gang. She needs to be locked up tight. jmo

I imagine she will be going to Federal prison.:jail: I think Sheriff Joe likes to brag about his women's chain gang!

Anyone have a link to the forensic astrology site? Thank you in advance.

Not sure what you mean. Why would she go to Federal prison?

I'm pretty sure there are armed guards watching them. At least that's how it's done out here in Texas.

Surprises me, but I get a sense many of us on here are already discounting the idea she could really get the Death Penalty. Just saying. LWOP would be fine with me, but I really do not want this woman out ever.

September 2006- as far as I understand.

I really need to see a visual calendar to understand how things progressed. Will the jurors have a firm grasp on the timing of their relationship? There was a lot of distance in miles for a great part of it, which makes Jodi's obsession seem more senseless, IMO.

If I were Martinez I sure would be going after the how accurate and relevant this old boyfriend is.

For the person that mentioned bruises could be hickies......good one! Hope Martinez reads here...lol

(Respectfully sniped for space)

When I heard her say temporary I was almost physically ill. She really just doesn't seem to 'get it'.

You are welcome! It was ME! :great:

Thank you miss krissy! I got the heebee jeebees when I read the part saying something happened to her at age 7, and then saw a post about Nancy Grace saying the babysitter said something happened when JA was seven!

I don't know when that came out on the NG show or if that was generally known before, but the whole description of Jodi was so interesting!

We have them here, too, but not the women. I would think if she were on death row she would not be doing that. I could just see her removing her clothes....because she's too hot. lol

I'm so sorry, and I mean no disrespect, but, these posts remind me of the CA trial... and we know how that one turned out. UGGGGHHHH!! It makes me sick that the detectives overlooked 'Fool-Proof Suffocation Methods' in the Google search!!!
I can't even bring myself to think about JA's computer. The evidence in the bathroom is solid proof that she killed TA. I can appreciate the PA's "keep it simple' approach.

Sustained - I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing!! I know boys will be boys, but come'on!! They had to notice that it was a smell other than stinky feet!! Also, I wondered if there was a mutual understanding with the roommates about taking care of the dog - I mean, did they feed him all the time or only when Travis asked them to bc he'd be gone. When Mimi said Napoleon was going crazy at the door I was worried he hadn't eaten in a few days!

There were only two roommates. And one wasn't there all that week. He was house sitting for someone else, the other worked. Maybe he doesn't have a sense of smell.

I don't think that was what she was referring to at all. Mormons have a very strong belief that a family bound to each other will be reunited in the afterlife. I'm pretty sure that's what she was trying to say. I don't think she cares at all about Travis' family, but was going for the whole "I'm so spiritual" thing. jmo

I hope LWOP , but I'm afraid it will be less. I do think she will play on her "celebrity" while in prison.

And you know all the nuts will come out of the woodwork with marriage proposals and financial support. LWOP won't stop JA from manipulating... but it will limit her manipulation. Anything less than LWOP will destroy any faith I have left in the legal system.

I live about 50 miles from Huntsville, about 25 miles from the Palestine area where FLDS "Prophet" Warren Jeffs is incarcerated. I would love to talk to him.

Seriously, though, I think it's the warden at that prison.
