Haha I learned from watching the Catfish show. I tried it with my picture and all it showed me was baby pictures! So not sure how good it really is because I sure am not a baby. lol

Here I am thinking it uses the sort of face recognition ... All high tech...

I want someone to run her art through it. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1359236278.897755.jpg

Not initially. I'm wondering if Travis didn't want to aggravate her and/or didn't want to air his dirty laundry.

I think Travis had a naive idea of what people are truly capable of and I think it stemmed from his childhood. He had meth addicted parents, but in his blog we read mostly about his mother.

TA's mother was a drug addict of the gnarliest sort. People on any type of amphetamine have the double whammy of being amped up and artificially energized for extended lengths of time- that is where the double whammy comes in- then they aren't able to sleep.

We need our sleep people.

After any extended period of time without sleep people can become deluded, aggressive, and paranoid.

I am fairly certain that TA and his siblings went through this with their mother.

In his blog he wrote about how violent she would become when anyone woke her up. She'd whoop them, according to Travis.

She never stabbed her children or shot at them, and in Travis' mind she was the worst of the worst as far as human beings he was exposed to. Add to that, when you are raised in circumstances such as these what is normal behavior becomes very skewed.

I speak of this from experience. The crazy stuff that goes on in your house becomes normal. Later on in life we accept things that others wouldn't because in the scheme of our lives they aren't that crazy.

Jodi wasn't doing meth, and as far as we know she had never hit Travis, so in his skewed reality she probably seemed rather harmless.

I think because of his own abandonment issues from childhood, he cut her a lot of slack. Even though he said some things to other people, I honestly don't believe Travis really believed that Jodi was dangerous.

One of my sister's killers' attorneys requested delays and delays for this mental retardation mini trial putting my 70 something (then) father on hold literally for years as he (we) had to retestify. Once they finally landed on a firm date, my father had a prepaid trip to China which the Judge refused to push back the hearing for ONE WEEK so my Dad could go. After 7 yrs of adjusting his life around proposed dates, it ended up he had to cancel that trip and will likely never go now.

In that hearing the Judge was the only finder of fact, was a known DP opponent, ruled every single thing in favor of the defense and in the end ruled he was mentally retarded (after ruling that no evidence could be submitted of his behavior after the age of 18...meaning the CRIME with it's sophisticated premeditation and cover up could not be admitted as evidence toward this new sentencing for THAT CRIME). Talk about insanity. Millions of dollars...MILLIONS. OUR money. Our system in so many ways is so insanely skewed toward the evil worst of the worst in our culture it's ...inject your ow

n adjective. Scary doesn't do it.

I just know how hard it is to get and keep a murderer in prison. This man, after having spent nearly 2 decades in prison on DEATH ROW almost was put in a position where he would be up for parole in 5 more years I think. I drove by myself out of town to read this Impact Statement and the State's atty told me he thought this was the reason our biased Judge didn't give him a new sentence that could allow for a possible release (this was her last case before she retired...it was so obvious where her head was at).

Sorry for what you have been thrum. That impact statement stated what is wro ng with our judicial system and prison. :banghead: God bless you and your family

One thing that just occurred to me. It would not be out of the realm of possibility to see Jodi try and fire her attorneys during the course of this trial. It would not be out of the realm of possibility for her to try and "flip her story yet once again, claim she wasn't there (again) and didn't do it. Claim her attorneys coerced her to admitting she did it.

Now that would be interesting , legally, in a DP trial. But it would not surprise me in the least. Esp after she's heard the jury questions.

Thoughts?

It occurred to me and I really think it is possible, that she'll try to fire the DT and go with lie 2 or introduce lie 4. I think it will be lie 4. MOO

Frigga,
I'm sorry your insights are born of experience, but applaud you for sharing so that we can all understand.
Wonderful post.

I do think people like her need to be studied...like bugs. Study their brains, etc.

Did you ever see the documentary on the Hillside Strangler?

He convinced MANY psychiatrists he had multiple personalities...until one uncovered the hoax of it all.

Wow, it's on youtube:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3ENaaLGjJA"]The Mask of Madness (Kenneth Bianchi) 1984 - YouTube[/ame]

Edited to add, this is not AT ALL as tragic as Dear Zachary...but fascinating for those interested in personality disorders in particular sociopathy.

I vote for medical research. The one thing that so far has me stumped is why now? Why Travis? How would her craziness lay dormant til the age of 28-29? I really need to hear from the ex boyfriends and friends. Would also really like to hear from her extended family!

I wonder what the fine is for spitting on someone?? .....

It could be more than a fine if you have aids or tuberculosis. I wonder if someone dying of aids would be willing to spend the time they have left in jail just to spit on Casey Anthony? That's something to think about when your in disguise in public Casey. The more she lets these so called video diaries leak out the madder people are going to get. So no it's not getting better day by day. Sorry I know it's off topic but my blood boils over that name and Jodi your not far behind.

No, I am far from any expert. I just happened to know that, that's all. :)

I am at a loss for words reading of what you and your father had to endure. Where you are re-victimized by the court system and representatives. Sadly, it does not surprise me.

Your perseverance seems to have drawn results in the end, that was a very powerful statement that you gave. You were a strong fighter for your sister. It's sad that the family has to take on such a role. I hope you and your father had good support.

I bet ya $1 the DV expert will bring it up though.

Also, people keep saying she texted a woman from TAs phone, but she didn't. Rather, she thought about it and then backed off. Just clarifying...

VELEZ-MITCHELL: And in one of her online conversations with this new boy toy, Ryan, Jodi admits secretly going through Travis`s phone. On it she finds the number of a woman she thinks Travis is secretly dating while still having sex with her. Listen to what she decides to do next.

BURNS: "I decided to text her back, quote, `Time to cuddle with Jodi. Good night.` Then I deleted the message, went to sleep, and never mentioned it to him. One day while he was taking a nap, I took his phone and read his text messages. Bad, I know."

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1301/09/ijvm.01.html

I am not caught up yet in the thread so this may have already been said, but, Jodi is a liar. Jodi told Ryan she thought about sending the message but didn't, that does not mean that it is true. Again, Jodi is a liar and anything that comes out of her mouth or is written by her can not be relied upon to be true and accurate.

MOO

Thank you Sulamith. I do think part of my place in these situations is to educate people (and families of victims in particular) about what the system is really like.

These men were not "mentally retarded" until the Supreme Court ruled we cannot execute the mentally retarded. I have joked that if the SC were to rule we cannot execute women, we'd have years of appeals arguing over chromosomes. And I'm not exactly kidding. This mental retardation argument could very likely be used with Jodi once she lands on DR. In fact I'd count on it.

One of my issues in this case and our case is the way the association goes both ways. Now that a vicious killer has been deemed mentally retarded, how does this impact the TRULY mentally retarded? Are people supposed to worry that Johnny with Down Syndrome bagging their groceries might be actually a cold blooded murderer waiting to attack them on the way to their car?

In this case, all truly abused women (and men) should take offense at the characterization this argument throws THEIR way. Do abuse sufferers turn to pathological lying, murder scheming, stealing? It goes both ways ya know. And it's all because someone , somewhere, wants to SAVE A MURDERER. It's just f'ing crazy.

This is what gets to me, ethics play no role here. It's become may the best liar, and manipulator win.

Thankfully, I am not one of those people! Never was, even as a child watching my neighbor beating his dog, I reported his butt, cussed him out and told him I was gonna do it! I called the police and the SPCA. Action to my satisfaction did not happen soon enough for me, so I removed that poor dog one night and gave him to my aunt. Who was as huge of an animal lover as myself. Some may call that stealing. I don't.

My parents...were not happy by this. Oh well.

that's great you did that. I remember when i was about 30 and my husband and I just moved into our first home. one day i was out walking and noticed a neighbor across the street was trying to remove a frightened cat from a trap. this creep was trapping cats in his yard! i confronted him and insisted he give me the cat. i took the cat home and called another neighbor who came over and looked at the cat and told me it belonged to the family up the street. so we took it up there and i told them about this creep neighbor. then about 6 of of us went over to talk to the man. his wife answered the door and said he wasn't there - which was a lie. i learned his name--"Sam" and whenever i saw him, i yelled "there's Sam the cat trapper man!". i wrote letters to all the neighbors informing them of what Sam had done. a few months later they moved.

I want to know why the police didn't respond when called right after the second tire slashing incident!
Was there some hostage situation at the bank? Was there an outbreak of the trots that caused every officer to take a seat on toilets at the same time?

I don't think men are taken seriously (in many cases) when they report a woman stalking or abusing them. In alot of ways men are failed by the justice system.
