I have a problem with any church leader who leads someone to The Lord or religion, , baptizes them and then tells them it is okay to have anal sex. Not such a good person in my book. Really creepy.
Every word that his friend, Chris Hughes ,I take with a grain of salt. Isn't he the Mormon who allowed Travis and Jodi to use his house as a sex pad?

I blink and I missed the hearing! I guess I'll watch it on IS (which I taped). Sounds like I missed an interesting morning.

ETA: Vinny is talking about the felon Anthony saying she must be PO'd that Arias is getting all the attention, and her lastest pictures and BK filing is no coincidence. You know what - he's probably right.

And something must have been leaked to him (Juan) or headed him (Juan) in the right direction, because of all the possibilities, how would he (Juan) boil it down to "it's probably going to be all about Gus and I better have Chris get down here from Utah". Something must have given Juan a heads-up.

Someone upthread said that the PA knows what is under seal, just noone out side of the PA, DA and judge. Was Nurmi under the impression that Juan would just sit there and take these accusations and not defend against them? I think it's all a part to delay, delay, delay because he knows this is a BS attempt for a mistrial. jmo

What information does Gus Searcy have? I know he has a reputation of being a "sensationist" and is a unreliable source, but . . . I do wonder if Jodi visited him while on her trip.

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Anybody know what he might know?

i feel it is going to backfire on the prosecution that he continually verbally assaults witnesses. Just my opinion.

Couldn't disagree more. He doesn't deal with ANY bull. Gets to the facts and the answers. Cuts straight to the chase. He's blunt and to the point. Especially in a long, drawn out case full of defense BS he makes it clear as day. I remember his line of questioning and his witnesses' responses. The defense attorneys, not at all. They are ineffective, dull, and forgetable.

Then again I don't view what Juan does as verbally assaulting, I think he's the one person there tasked with keeping this she-monster off the streets forever and he takes getting justice for Travis personally. I like my prosecutors to take command of a courtroom.

She is, because Casey's radio interview just happens to take place in Phoenix, the very city where Jodi's trial is taking place! Wish I had the photo somebody posted here of Casey yelling "Amateur!" at Jodi!!!:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Chis is the one who called Juan. Juan had no idea what GS was going to say but obviously Chris did. jmo

I guess GS said he has info. that will hurt Jodi, but will help her. I'm beginning to believe that he means it will hurt her emotionally, but will help her? I don't know. I guess we'll have to wait for his testimony.

what a let down.
I thought at the very least we would know what the allegations of pros. mis. would be about today.
It was mildly amusing to see scummy lawyers vs scummy salesmen.

Apparently not much, the prosecution had zero interest in calling him back. Probably wanting his 15 min. of fame trying to insert himself into this case.

Well, we ALL heard Gus Searcy mentioned in court. I just don't remember if it was in front of the jury or not. But the fact of the matter is that his name was televised, as well as there being a mention of Lisa Andrews, there was a big to do over the defense wanting her to appear. It was not a big secret....we all knew, and anybody else who was watching the trial on that day.

So clearly Travis had real friends who are watching this trial. If I was his friend I would have picked up the phone and called Sky and told her, or maybe she saw it for herself. Chris says SHE told him about GS, and he called and asked what's up, or texted to that effect.

So now, Chris has spilled the beans that the DEFENSE lied to him and his wife about those letters which were forged. If I had been Nurmi I would have just skipped over that bit now he went and did a lot of mumbling about "finding the emails" and such. I do. I cannot see how this tactic can possibly turn out well for the defense.....and see even less reason for all the smirking that was going on over at that table today.

So you think Travis was a bad person and a creepy hypocrit? Character assassination just on its own as a commentary on him as a person or part of a defense of her murdering him?

The witness lists are usually filed and are a public record so there should not be a problem with Sky and Chris being told who was on the list. I really don't understand what the basis for the misconduct allegations is unless it's witness tampering.

They said this text message was in January so I'm assuming it was after the trial started. I don't know if Chris Hughes was on either witness list, but the witnesses are typically instructed not to communicate about the case with anyone else and in this case would be instructed not to watch the trial since it's televised. I do not know if this is what normally happens in Arizona though.

I think after hearing Beth and Jean, that it probably has to do with intimidating or influencing (attempting) a witness. A reason the defense may not have disclosed the issue might be that exactly for this reason (misconduct), that they don't trust the prosecution not to do more of the same, thus keeping things secret until they get into court.

But I find it interesting that, while not knowing the misconduct allegation, Juan was READY WITH HIS OWN WITNESSES. That makes me think Juan knew perfectly well what the issue was (and obviously he did). How could he know that unless the issue was valid? Hmmmm.

I also wonder if Gus Searcy is Mormon or an "outsider."

This case is stinky to me. The judge doesn't seem to be very engaged. It feels like she's going through the motions and wishes they would be done because she's already at the outcome and these details are inconvenient. I know I'm reading a lot into her demeanor, but I have not seen a judge be so detached from the proceedings.

I couldn't agree more. What's up with this AZ court? This is crazy.

I think that the Judge and the prosecution have both had other commitments that they have had to fill, hence the trial not running 5 days a week.

Or at least I hope that is the case! Because at the moment I am honestly not that impressed with the Arizona Justice system, given that it has taken nearly 4 and a half years to get this case to trial and they are not doing full weeks.

If it is frustrating for us, I can't even imagine how bad it must be for Travis Alexander's family and friends.

I just really hope it is other commitments that have meant the case cannot sit 5 day a week.

It really angers me when I think of how long it has taken to get JA to trial (I followed this case since August 2007) and nearly every day we have had a different mistrial motion then the break.

I do think she is 100% guilty and is not a victim. But I want to see her get a fair trial and a watertight conviction. I don't want to see a guilty verdict overturned down the line.

I'm a Brit so I don't believe in the DP, but I would like to see her in solitary confinement, where she can't manipulate or hurt any one ever again.
