Truth:
Jodi drove from Mesa to Utah to visit Ryan, showing up approximately 24 hours later than scheduled. 250 miles from Arizona, Jodi called Travis' cell phone and left a message asking him to go to an Othello showing in Oregon the following week.
SO eerie.
Truth:
Jodi told Ryan that she cut her hand on a broken glass at "Margaritaville" where she worked. No such place existed.
Yes, further indicating (IMO) that Ryan was just a pawn in her scheme rather than an actual dating interest - as was just mentioned, Travis dated other people after the JA breakup but she didn't. One would think if she had any real intentions of having Ryan as anything other than an alibi (and to make TA jealous apparently which failed), she wouldn't have made up Margaritaville knowing she'd eventually get caught in the lie. Although, with psychopaths & pathological liars, the truth and the lies are so convoluted...who knows.

Well, she's dragging him back to the bathroom, away from where he left most of his blood. So I think it's safe to say he's dead or very close to it by that point.

(I know you weren't answering me. I'm just butting in.)
I think its most likely after the throat wound but I'm playing devil's advocate. He was at the absolute, minimally least incapable of defending himself - whether incapacitated, near dying, or deceased.

So why continue murdering him? In a way a longer attack makes the prosecution's job even easier imo.

I have. I am not claiming he was only stabbed once. I'm saying that we do not know how far along the attack was when the picture was taken. The picture is not a valid basis to surmise with any great specificity the duration of the attack or when it stopped.

The belief is the area on the rug is where she cut his throat. This is backed up by the picture of her dragging him back through the hallway as you can see the blood streaming down his shoulder. I saw the video of when the goalie had his throat cut with a player's skate and the blood pouring out of his neck looked just like Travis' picture. This player could still move. I believe the ME stated the shot to the head would have rendered Travis unable to lift his arms, not the cut to the throat. I believe, too, what the ME said about the bleeding from the throat is that blood would drain from his head and he would lose consciousness in a very short time. jmo

I think, if Jodi's defense team is floating ideas or monitoring this board, I'd like to say that with all the confusing theories and mountains of evidence to speculate on, the only strategy that makes sense to me to clear it all up is to put Jodi on the stand. She might even need to testify twice. You know, open and close your case with her. I think Wednesday afternoon though would be the perfect timing.

You're welcome! :seeya:

Do we really know JA did not date anyone after TA? There was that married man who spent 2 hours in the car with her and wanted to leave his wife. Bet that wife is getting roses every night since this trial began and is still trying to figure out why. lol

  • #446
JMO but I believe this firmly-- almost everything the defense is suggesting and much of what I'm reading theorized as "what ifs" for self defense are usable ideas at best but really are not likely, believable, factual or most importantly reasonable.

I've gone both ways with analyzing the facts and details closely and pulling back looking with common sense (or what I think is common sense) and there is nothing to even mitigate her actions. Forget about anything less than premeditated first degree murder. And yes, I know we haven't heard the defense case. The excuses and theories are simply not plausible and I cannot see 12 reasonable minds looking at the evidence in this case and not being convinced beyond a reasonable doubt.

(Daughter was hogging laptop all afternoon, so I'm way behind-like last thread)... I just heard on Nancy Grace a little while ago that Jodi tried to plead Guilty to 2nd degree Murder which is only 10-23 years and Juan said "No!"!!!! It's not up to her to decide her terms, it's up to the prosecutor to offer a plea, and for her brutality 10-23 years is a joke! She'd still be a young woman when she got out. She deserves life in prison without parole at minimum!

I think so, too. I did make a comment about defense's loud ties the other day and today his tie was very nice. Suited him, not like the others. He looked more professional today. I do like Juan's choices also. lol

My thanks button is acting up. Fast paced thread has my eyes spinning in my head.

I'm going to make dinner because I'm an artist and a chef.

I love that game!

I just had a thought, so I'm a philosopher! :floorlaugh:

I think the tire slashing is true. We may hear more about that later on before the trial is over. Which would mean she carries a knife with her. The same knife she used to slit an innocent man's throat.

The blade had to be at least 6 inches long and extremely sharp and one that would not break because it literally took chunks out of his skull.:( Most kitchen knives are bendable made of thinner material and would flex and the tip would break when doing that amount of damage imo.

Imo the knife did not come from Travis' home just like the gun didnt.

IMO
I totally agree OBE, the woman slept in her car, she was drifter, a chameleon, adapted to her environment/situation, hence would definitely have a knife in her possession for protection. I have no doubt she would know what type of knife could penetrate tires effortlessly, thus she carried one that could cause extensive damage in these types of situations/threats.

Truth:

Jodi and Travis were at one time openly dating - during that time Jodi lived in California and Travis lived in Arizona

They broke up in June 2007, and about a month later Jodi moved to Arizona and lived 7 minutes away from Travis. Jodi moved to Arizona because of Travis.

Travis was pissed about Jodi moving to Arizona and so close to Travis

Jodi did not have stable employment while she was in Arizona. Travis paid her to occasionally clean his house.

Travis and Jodi fought in front of other people about Jodi showing up at Travis' house and hanging around uninvited

Jodi accessed Travis' facebook, gmail and phone. Travis confronted her about the invasion of privacy a couple of weeks before Jodi killed Travis

Jodi snooped through Travis' text messages while Travis was napping. Jodi sent a message to a girl from Travis' phone and pretended to be Travis saying "time to snuggle with Jodi"

Travis and Jodi traveled to several locations together. It is so far unknown what time period these trips took place.

After Travis and Jodi "officially" broke up, Travis dated other people. Jodi did not ..until Ryan. whom she saw one time immediately after killing Travis.

Jodi moved to California in April 2008 because of Travis and because of finances.

Travis and Jodi remained in contact with each other after she moved to California. From the phone records we have seen, most contact was initiated by Jodi.

A .25 caliber pistol was reported missing from Jodi's residence a week before Jodi killed Travis.

Jodi rented an inconspicuous car 90 miles from her home, dyed her hair and traveled to Mesa, Arizona on June 3-4, although she had planned a trip to Utah to visit Ryan. Her phone was turned off for 20 hours from the time she left California until the time she was leaving Arizona on her way to Utah.

Nude photos of both Travis and Jodi were taken within a minute or two of each other in Travis' room and with Travis' camera. 6 pictures of Jodi, 2 of Travis. These photos were taken at approximately 1:30 pm on June 4, 2008.

At approximately 5:30 pm on June 4, 2008 Jodi took several pictures of Travis while he took a shower. Some of these photos were deleted.

Within a couple of minutes of Travis being alive and sitting in the shower, Jodi shot Travis in the head with a .25 caliber pistol, stabbed Travis 27 times in the back and torso, and cut his neck from ear to ear with a 5" knife. Jodi's fingers on her left hand were cut during the attack.

The attack took place in Travis' bathroom and the hallway leading from the bathroom to the bedroom.

Travis died from his injuries.

Jodi dragged Travis his shower and left his dead body there.

Jodi put Travis' camera in the washing machine, where it suffered water damage.

The gun and knife used to kill Travis have not been located.

Jodi drove from Mesa to Utah to visit Ryan, showing up approximately 24 hours later than scheduled. 250 miles from Arizona, Jodi called Travis' cell phone and left a message asking him to go to an Othello showing in Oregon the following week.

Jodi visited Ryan and engaged in sexual activity the day after she killed Travis. Jodi acted normal and stated that her delay was due to getting lost and sleeping in the car.

Jodi told Ryan that she cut her hand on a broken glass at "Margaritaville" where she worked. No such place existed.

Jodi sent an email to Travis on June 7, 2008 asking if she could stay at his house while he was in Cancun.

Travis' dead body was discovered on June 9, 2008.

Jodi spoke to investigators on June 10, 2008 and said that she had not seen Travis since April.

On July 15, 2008, after being provided with conclusive proof that she was at Travis' house on June 4, 2008, Jodi told investigators that she was there but two intruders killed Travis and allowed her to escape. Jodi described Travis being shot and unable to stand.

On July 16, 2008, Jodi was arrested and charged with Travis' murder.

Subsequent to her arrest, Jodi gave televised interviews wherein she said that two intruders killed Travis and one of them tried to shoot her but the gun didn't go off - at which point she was able to grab her purse and run out of the house.

Jodi claimed that she did not call 911 or report the intrusion and attack because she was afraid the intruders would harm her family.

In July 2010, Jodi's lawyer's filed a notice of intent to assert "self defense" as justification for Travis' homicide.

And that's a fact, Jack ;). Brilliant post - thank you! :gthanks:

You're right, Lotus. Not even crime of passion could be entertained due to the amount of premeditation. Were it not for that I believe she may only have been charged with 2nd degree. JMO

Wasn't there much talk about Travis never locking the doors?

She's tiny, but I can't imagine her crawling through that. Unless... She shed her human form and slithered through as the monster she really is.

Rosa Lopez was the maid from the OJ case that couldn't get her story straight
