Whats with this GS person, grinning all over the place like a mule eating saw briars? He's a bit grandiose and quite full of himself. I wouldn't believe anything he said. MOO
:floorlaugh: That made my day!

Yeah, neither would I. He came off as very full of himself & the kind of sleazy salesman who makes you want to take a shower. :moo: And he seemed very touchy that the prosecution didn't return his calls, yet if you think about it would a solid upstanding citizen who wants to volunteer information try to force it on them like that?

So, you think that a person can stab another person in the back 5-6-7-8 times or more and THAT is still self defense? Can you advise how far along in the attack this would have to come to make it self defense? I'm really curious to know.
Let me preface this with my actual belief. I think she's guilty and I think she snapped and killed him out of jealousy or some other rage (possibly that he wouldn't take her back, or that she was going to Cancun and wouldn't take her). I've said this multiple times on the forums. However, that is only my belief, and just because I believe something does not make it true. I am willing to concede that my beliefs may not be factual, and keep an open mind because evidence and testimony is still forthcoming. I will not just shut down and refuse to consider other theories or possibilities that may challenge my beliefs.

With that being said, I think it is possible that someone who has been abused may act in self defense and commit overkill. I don't think anyone has to be attacked for any specific amount of time, but not confining the attack to the two minutes means that the two weapons did not necessarily have to be present at once. JA may have left and returned with the second weapon because the first was not effective.

I'm pretty sure that the defense has a bit more on their plate than throwing forum chat ideas into their mix. They have a lot more to worry about at the end of the day than to sit at a computer. I know it's been known that sometimes people come here to read who are on high profile cases, but I have always found it odd to think that this would be a place to come to get ideas. I think they have enough problems with what they have now.

During the Brad Cooper murder trial in NC I personally saw the defense browsing WS on their laptops on more than 1 occasion. And WS came up in the trial itself as one of the defense witnesses had posted several things about his theory of the murder after it happened and his WS posts were used to impeach his credibility. So never say never. State prosecution teams generally don't have time or the inclination to visit WS or necessarily even know about it. But defense teams sure do and some of them (no, not all) will float some theories to see how they 'play' to the public whether it's to a forum or in the comments at the end of a news article online.

Is the doggy door that black space? I don't see how even Napoleon fit through it. No wonder poor little dog had accidents on the carpet and the roomates's bed.

Wasn't there much talk about Travis never locking the doors?

She's tiny, but I can't imagine her crawling through that. Unless... She shed her human form and slithered through as the monster she really is.

That doggie door looks standard in size; our old 65-70lb dogs used our doggie door with ease so I'm sure she could cram herself in. She seems skilled at doing that in general.

The defense opening statement is not evidence nor is it proof until it is proven in court during the defense's case. The defense opening statement is also information that they have received from Jodi. Jodi that lies. Jodi that has every reason in the world to paint herself as a victim, a good moral person, etc. Jodi that has every reason in the world to paint Travis as an abuser, a pervert, a liar, an immoral human being, etc. If one is taking the defense opening statements as facts, then one is setting themselves up to be disappointed.

MOO

Your prerogative of course. I believe the DB part of the opening statement, that DB had just gone through a painful divorce. To my knowledge, no one has alleged that JA 'caused him to leave his pregnant wife' except rumor on WS. But that was the original question, right?

After watching all of Insession, I finally understood what today's hearing was about and according to Beth Karas, it doesn't seem to matter that Chris Hughes found out right away from his wife that Gus Searcy was to testify, called him, or watched TV. There was no prosecutorial misconduct. Juan hadn't contacted Chris and Chris didn't guide Gus's testimony. I thought Gus was a real sleaze- constantly smirking (he reminded me of Gollum in Lord of the Rings/the Hobbit). Gus lost the credibility battle to Chris Hughes, IMO.:twocents:
Juan was a masterful pitbull. Hope he gets to rip Jodi to shreds!

Didn't one of Travis' roommates or friends say they saw her coming in the doggie door? I really think I heard that but I can't remember if it was in testimony or in a media interview. Are we sure that's "the" doggie door and there is only one of them? It's hard to tell by a photo how large it really is. And where there's a will - an obsessive, sociopathic one at that - there's a way!

I think, if Jodi's defense team is floating ideas or monitoring this board, I'd like to say that with all the confusing theories and mountains of evidence to speculate on, the only strategy that makes sense to me to clear it all up is to put Jodi on the stand. She might even need to testify twice. You know, open and close your case with her. I think Wednesday afternoon though would be the perfect timing.

You're welcome! :seeya:

And to bolster her case with Violene, dress HER in a Snow White costume! :floorlaugh:
