This may be the first person that we hear testifying about abuse from Travis if he testifies.

OOH OOH, I can vouch for this Linda.

We have a doggy door the same kind and size as Travis. We have a sweet neighbor girl who is a sophomore in high school and is slightly special. She loves our dog Pudge, like he is her own (she loves all of the neighborhood dogs for that matter).

She dog walks and pet sits for us when we are on short trips. She is also legally blind (I realize how silly this is sounding).

Anyway, one time when we were gone for a week when we came home, all was well, but when I asked her for the key to our house back she admitted it had flown out of her hand in our yard and she was never able to see it, to find it!

Her family came to help her look for it but they weren't able to find it.

Poor kid, she was so nervous. When I asked her how she had gotten in and out of the house she said, "the doggy door."

I could hardly believe it. This girl is about 5'6", very nice figure but muscular and with very broad shoulders.

She still to this day will sometimes come in through our doggy door! She is friends with our children too, and its sort of a joke.

I think people underestimate the ease of crawling in a dog door. I've done it in a pencil skirt, not by choice so much as necessity. I'd get the kids loaded into the car in the garage and realize I'd locked the door and left the keys inside. In through the dog door I'd go.

I am not a lawyer, but I don't believe the entire testimony would be considered hearsay because the witness would have seen the marks and could testify to them being there.

If Arias decided to be called upon as a witness, I believe that her having told the ex TA caused the bruises would fall under a hearsay exception. Otherwise, I'm not sure that her saying TA caused them would be allowed.

Yes, further indicating (IMO) that Ryan was just a pawn in her scheme rather than an actual dating interest - as was just mentioned, Travis dated other people after the JA breakup but she didn't. One would think if she had any real intentions of having Ryan as anything other than an alibi (and to make TA jealous apparently which failed), she wouldn't have made up Margaritaville knowing she'd eventually get caught in the lie. Although, with psychopaths & pathological liars, the truth and the lies are so convoluted...who knows.

Possible Gus story:

Fact: JA talked to TA for around an hour between 3 and 4AM June 2. She then left at 530am-ish for her road trip.

Possible scenario:
She goes to Santa Cruz. According to a poster here who said she saw Gus' calendar, Gus was in Santa Cruz that evening, June 2. That would place both JA and GS at the same place where they may have talked.

What if JA confided to GS that she had spoken with TA earlier that morning, and that he wanted her to come to AZ (had suspicions she was going to UT to see 'another guy' and he had a pang of possessiveness). Jodi was struggling with this decision b/c although she was trying to "move on" and establish a relationship with Ryan B, she still loved TA. What if she confided that she was going to go to Mesa and try to sort things out with TA for either: 1) a permanent final stop to all contact; or, 2) a reconciliation to get back together.

Maybe that's what Gus is going to say. That could work FOR JA in that it shows more of a spontaneous trip, that TA had invited her and that they were still wrapped up in a mutual, albeit dysfunctional, relationship.

It could work AGAINST JA in that it definitely puts her as planning to go to TAs house that night. And maybe she told Gus she was going to stop by unexpectedly and surprise him. this would strengthen the premeditation part of the pros's case. (But then why would she even tell Gus this if she was planning to kill TA?)

Anyway, just thinking out loud here about Gus' information and what he might have to say.

You don't sound racist to me. I have wondered why Mr. Martinez pronounces "Arias" in the way he does cos he does not seem to have any kind of accent otherwise. As far as the no death penalty in Mexico, wouldn't the prospective jurors have been asked if they could give the death penalty? If not, wouldn't they have been dismissed?

OT: When my family moved from Tucson, AZ to Marfa, Tx in 1969, I was shocked to find out that the elementary school there had recently become desegragated. Hispanics go to one school, Gringos/white people went to another school. Eye opener for me!

I too, have wondered why PT/Juan Martinez made the spanish pronunciation of JAs surname as well in recent arguments, in his opening statement, he pronounced it in english. Oh well, he must have a reason.

I was thinking the same thing. I am pretty small 160 lb and I think I could easily get through that door just by looking at it.
