I hope Gus will release a statement or hold a press conference letting us know what happened behind closed doors and also let us know how he's feeling and what he's going to eat for dinner. And also a whole bunch of other irrelevant stupid crap nobody cares about.

Baaaaaaahahahah!! Me too! Me too!!

I think GS lied about someone being in the car and Martinez is grinning because he knows this.

Explains why GS wants to plead the 5th (perjury) and why the judge is suggesting he seek legal council.

In other words, there was never another person in the car and this witness is a liar!

So, what's the sore now? Defense = 0 for 2? With Prosecution stealing one from the Defense. (It's like chess!)

It's as if this all a big game to Mr Gus Searcy, he is a grown, somewhat intelligent man... is this a big joke to him? Some perceived game of cat and mouse, an evening on the high school debating team?

I swear, he is surreal to me. I have no understanding of someone that has no concern for a murdered man. Very strange to me. He has a wife and children, from his video sounded very much like he loved his mother and father. Where does this come from? Is he a grifter or what. What does he hope to accomplish?

If this is really payback for the prosecution not calling him back then I would say Juan Martinez is psychic. Think of the havok this man could have actually wreaked if he was working with the prosecution. He could have easily caused a mistrial.

Just when you think it can't get any more weird!

still no reason to be murdered 3 times over. no excuse.

I give up. The point apparently cannot be articulated in a way that elicits any understanding. When my coworker told me his thoughts I understood what he was saying; I had asked him for his perspective and he shared it.

If I was a juror today I might have asked the question "do you know where someone can find a long sleeved turtleneck ball gown?".

I love hearing from Travis' friends, he had so many.
Jensen had never heard of the defendant before Travis was murdered.

CH replied to a TA email where CH possibly stated he didn't approve of the way TA was treating JA. We haven't heard all the details of the email just that snippit.

Ok, thanks. Anyway, so Chris Hughes may be called by the defense to testify about his opinion that Travis was not treating Jodi right.

I doubt very much that Chris said Travis was physically or sexually abusing Jodi, and the defense will be nuts to call Chris as a witness knowing his strong feelings about Jodi murdering his best friend.

In any event, no reason to think Chris will lie or that his testimony won't be credible.

NO KIDDING! he smiled and smirked through the entire thing. That's just crazy.

Just curious...was your co-worker shown the photos of Travis after he was slaughtered?

Hello everyone! I havent posted in a while... mainly been lurking during this trial because there's no point in saying something someone's already said better lol. This place is kinda like reading my *diary*-- when I come in here & read a majority of the thoughts & ideas posted here.

I was being facetious. Some found Chris belligerent when I would argue Gus was much more so.
The two are not mutually exclusive. What's hard to understand about this?

Just because Witness A is more belligerent than Witness B, does that give Witness B free reign to be belligerent, just to a lesser extent?

If there was an issue with it, the attorneys can address it. In fact, the PA allowed the document into evidence. The PA could address the issue on cross-examination if he realized the error he made.

I know you guys hate when T's behavior is singled out. But 2 weeks ago I told my male coworker (who is the same age as Travis) about this case, the stalking, the crazy, the sex, and then the murder and it was HIS opinion (his, NOT mine), that if a guy plays with "crazy/obsessive" then something bad is gonna happen. Not usually murder of course, but it can and does happen and my male coworker saw the "gray area" of Travis continuing to have sex with someone who was stalker/obsessive. Just throwing it out there cause this is coming from a straight 33 yr old dude who never heard of this murder and has no idea who any of these people are and no bias one way or the other.

I must say that once JA moved back to CA, that should have been it for TA. No calls, no emails, nothing - no communication with her at all. I'm sure she would have pestered him to death (oops), but he should have deleted the msgs, etc., as soon as he knew it had anything to do with her. If he had done so, she may have come for him with weapons sooner, but maybe not.

He was a good man, and he knew she was aiding & abetting him to be less than he wanted to be, but refusing to communicate with her would have helped him recover more quickly, poor guy.

Just thinkin' about this...

I didn't show him any photos but I did describe the injuries and the combination of stabbing, slashing, shooting, dragging. He said "that chick is crazy mean!" He too believes she should be locked away forever, at a minimum.

i thought you could only plead the 5th to use against self incrimination?? and once you call the 5th, can't you no longer answer questions??? you cn't pick and choose which question you decide not to answer once you plead it can you?

bump - do we have any legal eagles who know this?

I'm gonna head over at noon and see if I can even get in. I may just stake it out outside the courtroom and see if I can grab a seat wherever one is available. Not sure if the morning people can save their seat for the afternoon. I'll just go scope it out and of course check in here via my iphone once I'm in...or not. ;)

Anything in particular you want me to check out? I hope to talk to Beth K., Nancy G and maybe that Troy Hayden if I get up the nerve. Last time I got to speak with Juan Martinez at the elevator...if I get the chance this time I will definitely congratulate him on his stellar day today.

I may slip a card of condolence to Travis' family. I'll just see. I met their Victim Advocate last time.

Katie, I can't wait to hear what you find out - from the outside or the inside! Are you on Twitter and if so, can we follow you?

Do you know yet what you will be wearing so that we might spot you in the courtroom?

I think the card to Travis' family is a lovely idea! That is a very sweet and thoughtful idea.

I think we all agree that Travis was an imperfect human being. Defending Travis and believing that Jodi brutally murdered him without justification is not the equivalent of thinking Travis was perfect and flawless.

I think most of us also agree that Jodi murdered Travis without justification, legal or otherwise. Pointing out that Travis used bad judgment ("was playing with fire") when he remained engaged with a clearly unstable, stalker-ish ex-girlfriend is in no way implying that Travis somehow deserved what he got, or that Jodi was justified in murdering him, or that he brought this on himself.

He is under oath right?

I think he just made that up and thought that would bolster his fairy tale more.

If he doesnt produce the name and if the person doesnt verify what he says is true he could find himself in deep doo with the Judge.

I just told my hubby how strange it is that some people just want to desperately insert themselves in high profile cases even if it means lying to do it.

IMO

He's going to have to give up the person or admit he's lying. Can he retract that statement he made on the stand. Would a lawyer say he misspoke? Doesn't really matter it makes the defense look like fools.

What in the hell does he mean finding the judge credible?
