Witness is being belligerent.

Witness is STALLING. Read the email already, Chris Hughes! You didn't write a novella. How long can it take to re-familiarize yourself with what you wrote?

I think the point of this is to show that the Defence did have a reason to have Chris and Skye Hughes on their witness list. As Chris alluded to thinking that he thought they were put on there to keep them out of the court room. Why it has something to do with the pros. misconduct hearing, I dunno LOL

chris is gonna make nurmi stand there for 30 minutes while he reads the e-mail exchange. Good play ;) LOL

I do believe it's been reported in the media about the forged letters Jodi wrote. So what's the big deal?

Yes - Years ago, while preparation for this trial was ongoing, these letters were rejected by the court. It is documented in "court minutes", and I assume this is where anyone that was following the case would know (the Hughes).
I do not recall all details, but I know she tried to submit these letters after she had fired her legal council and planned on representing herself. When the letters were deemed forgeries (not sure of exact language, but I know some sort of expert was brought in to review them and they were deemed as such). This is when she admitted to "be in over my head" and her legal council was reinstated.
She hacked into his accounts. It is not a mystery to speculate how this could have been accomplished on her part.
Was there something about a fake email address as well? she claimed an email address belonging to TA did not exist?

That quote from Martinez = "this witness is belligerent" ?

I got it.
Nope. The witness refusing to answer questions and asking questions of his own.

I have NO problem with ANY witness reviewing info to give the most honest and correct testimony possible.

CH = slowest reader EVAH! I seriously get a "dumb" vibe from him.

His credibility for me is nil. He won't help or hurt either side.

My impression is that CH inserted himself in things too. And he's getting called on it and on things he and/or his wife said to others, the state, and possibly to Travis.

CH is being obstinate just to pizz Nurmi off.

Buffering, darn it !

Nope. The witness refusing to answer questions and asking questions of his own.

The witness is allowed to ask for the beginning of a email back and forth IMO. He isn't asking questions, he is asking for the beginning of how this email exchange started.

If I read something in the paper about someone I know being accused of murder, I can't just call the DA's office and tell them it? :waitasec:

Sure you can. But when you're a witness in a case or an expert then anything and everything you talk about is discoverable. Sometimes you want to streamline what is said/written because the other side will be privy to it. Unless it's work product or unless you stipulate certain things aren't discoverable (which happens in civil cases).

So if you're a witness it's not always preferable to just call willy nilly.

The subject matter of this email related to TA was treating JA and it wasn't in a kind way - I don't recall I would like to read the first portion

I know you are tryin to wiggle out of it!
Objection!

Begin again - Mr. Hughes do not answer until Prosecutor can make an objection

Objection - he is trying to get in what the email says . . . he doesn' have to characterize it

Overrule to that specific objection - you may answer
Yes

You had conversations with Det. Flores?
Yes
You could see TA losing it with JA right
Objection - relevance

Approach

Yes, but maybe Jodi was crying to them, and they knew Travis was dating Lisa or somebody? Was Jodi calling them acting strange?

Hi, Curious Me. I think that Chris Hughes was viewed by both Travis and himself as his mentor. I think some of Hughes' judgments were shaped by his Mormon beliefs.
