Why would he need to "plead the 5th?"

Because he lied...? Was there no one in the car with him and he lied and said there was and now he's being forced to tell the truth?

OR

Was there really someone in the car with him and he's trying to "protect" them in some way from the big bad Chris Hughes?

OR

Was there someone in the car that he doesn't want anyone to know about because it's something else entirely/hinky?

OR

Is Gus just trying to play games?

we could really go out on a limb and say it was Skye in the car with him..... not.

Interesting! I wouldn't be surprised if CH was harassing or intimidating anyone who isn't lined up 150% in support of TA. Maybe there is misconduct. Why would the defense just pull it out of their butts without any foundation whatsoever?

misconduct by whom though? what does juan martinez have to do with it? nothing that i can see.

Having real doubts about this company period!! The people that work there, the level of service provided and fear of retaliation by certain people in high places. What kind of triangle is that anyway?

It's a circle. :floorlaugh:

So what's worse...

Chris Hughes asking to see the entirety of an email exchange prior to answering under oath?

or...

Gus Searcy refusing to answer a question when ordered to do so by the judge?
Looks like he's answering now?

Here you go:

I am getting sick of seeing JA's mother and her crowd laughing and talking! How rude is that?:furious: Then the camera pans over to TA's side of the courtroom and all you see in their faces is sadness and heartbreak. Also, Jodi looked back at her mother's bunch and when she turned back toward the front she was laughing, too. Well, honeybunch, it is going to all be over but the crying soon! :great:

IF a higher up in his Legal Shield company can NOT get an attorney at what is it 3:00 pm in the afternoon... What makes us believe that anyone who buys that product can? I think his so call legal insurance is a scam... proven by HIM! He provides legal services to those who cant afford legal help.. Right??

This is classic. Thanks for the laugh!

Hi! I read about it in my local media along the way so at some point it was reported. I thought Victoria Jackson resigned as her attorney...??

Were these letters hand written or emails? They cant come in but I wish the issue of her forgery could.

Hi :) Yes, I remember an onslaught circus (seemingly) of attorneys resigning, trying to resign, etc.
I *believe* she has tried to submit these letters several times (and continuing). They have always been referred to as "electronic copies". I never knew what that meant: scans or copies of a handwritten letter, or email, etc.
It was mentioned somewhere that a cellmate helped JA forge them.
I would not be surprised if one of the witnesses for the defense is an expert in handwriting analysis.
And YES - Agggh! The issue that she had the AUDACITY to forge letters that would basically be the only "evidence" to support her bu**s**t defense is unbelievable, and I hope some door will be opened and that will be slipped in.

This is how I'm reading it. The prosecutor asked him how often he talks to (forget his name). He asks the prosecutor to define often. Gus then says every month or so(?)

The prosecutor then asks him for his phone number which Gus says is irrelevant. The prosecutor tells him that's not how it works.

The judge calls a sidebar and then the prosecutor comes back and asks him to write down his phone number. The judge tells him it will be sealed. He then asks to plead the 5th.

Is that about right?

No. Gus said there was someone with him in the car when he had the famous conversation with Chris H. Juan asked who that person was and Gus said it wasn't relevant. After a sidebar Juan asked Gus to write down the name of the person who was in the car... that's when Gus freaked out a little bit.

Didn't you hear? It's a circular triangle!

Its a dome!

When was this person supposedly in the car with Gus? I have my gut feeling!

  • #2,295
Me thinks there never was another person in the car OR the guy in the car will say something totally different.

My thinking exactly! He's wondering which foot to put in the flame because he's busted as a liar no matter what he writes down or doesn't. Does that make sense?

In other words... He's weighing his odds - Liar? OR contempt of court? Which way shall he go???

I am literally :floorlaugh: Laughing on the floor and laughing out loud.

This thread has been a riot.

I cannot wait to see what happens after the "break"!

eta: OF COURSE I do not mean this trial or the subject matter is funny (should go w/out saying but I feel I should clarify)... but Gus, you really can't make this clown up.

I almost missed this. I was reaching for the mouse so I could go cook a salmon filet. Priceless.
