How do you explain her having the weapons that she brought into the bathroom that were used to kill Travis? :waitasec:
As I stated:

It's easy to claim that she just had the gun in her purse, she was attacked, so she went for the gun.

A knife may have been retrieved later, and this could be attributed to her being in a temporary state of whatever because she was "abused so much". Which I think is what the defense will try to say.

It shows a history of violence or abuse towards the defendant.
I disagree. Do you remember that the email that was sent to Chris from "Travis" was a forgery??

It shows that Chris received a crazy email from (who he thought was Travis) and that he did respond to it. At the time he responded to the email, he had no idea that the letters were forged.

Being the very close friend to Travis that he was, Chris responded with what appears to be a very long email back to his friend who he thought was in some sort of crisis.

What it also proves is that Jodi was already premeditating a possible defense for killing Travis.

All IMO, JMO, MOO

The defense will likely state that they knife was just "sitting around" because they had recently used it in their sex play.

Do you believe this personally or are you trying to figure out what the defense is up to?

Imminent danger is the key word here!
:)

She can say she felt she was in imminent danger because of prior physical abuse. "He got that look in his eye" sort of thing. idk

Given there were only two people present, a history of violence towards Arias would make it more probable that there was another round of violence towards her.

It doesn't prove she was in imminent danger at the time, but it would show that it may be more likely the defense narrative is true.

I gave up trying to catch up on the last thread and instead caught up on THIS thread whilst replaying the little bit of InSession I had recorded earlier. I just have to say, Beth Karas is so darling on tv. Loved her very amusing "reinactment" of Nummi's redirect of Mr. Brewer.

Other than that, I'm wondering if Gus Searcy is going to appear tomorrow in Judge's robes and attempt to sit on the real "throne" in the room.

Oh I didn't know that it was proved a forgery?

That does seem to be common sense huh?

Except that the abused often doesn't know and if they do they won't admit they are abused according to the Psychology Today article I just read and posted about the line between abusers and victims. In fact it said that often the abused goes out of their way to defend and protect the abuser.

Not saying anything about JA or TA just commenting on your comment and the article I just read.
I swear I swore I'd go to bed before 5am today.

While that is most assuredly true the distance between them makes that very unlikely in my opinion. It is usually distance and most importantly no contact that allows a victim to see abuse with clarity. (Granted though on average a victim will return several times over too for a great myriad of reasons.)

To bounce off your post...there was a Canadian study conducted that showed only 25% of abuse victims killed their partner. In light of that it seems impossible that nearly every woman accused of killing their significant other has been abused. JMO

If TA acknowledged abuse, it may be allowed as a statement against interest. I find this unlikely, though.

I thought that the only part of the e-mail they did not wish to be read was the first part - TA's portion. Maybe I misunderstood.

I think you are confusing being read by the witness and being admitted into evidence for this hearing.

Here take a listen again.

I made the assumption that he complied with the judge's order. It was not televised or disclosed. I could be wrong - it should be on the court minutes whenever they are posted.

Thank you for answering! I thought JVM or Nancy Grace would talk about it, but NO. Then I thought Dr. Drew might talk about it, but NO. For some reason I am obsessed, hate to admit it because Gus makes me feel quite ill, but I really want to know if he got charged with Contempt. :jail: He would have never left a Texas courtroom after acting like that without at the very least a fine and a night or two in jail for good measure! My jaw dropped when the Judge said to Gus... more or less.. 'OK, you can get an attorney and come back tomorrow'. I was literally floored at her response. :waitasec:

Whoever questioned my story earlier - this is why I responded the way I did. This is now the second time in this thread I'll explain that I believe she murdered TA, probably with premeditation. I've believed this since I started talking about this case two weeks ago:

I'm just trying to remain as impartial as possible until the defense presents all they have.

That was covered in the opening statement. In his newly decorated home TA decided to cut the cording off of a pillow or curtain pullback (we don't know exactly) with the knife and tied Jodi up. Of course she is not tied up in those pictures and she looks like she is smiling so....whatever. You don't spend thousands of dollars decorating you home and start cutting up curtain pullbacks. FYI, Flores claims they found no rope. Surprise, surprise. I guess she burned those, too. jmo

Did it ever come out how the witness list was leaked?

Gus seemed to claim that he did not even know he was on the witness list when he was called by Chris. So, how did Chris find out? Was it through Sky or directly to him from the PA?
Last night both Beth Karas and Nancy Grace said that witness lists are public info., and that Sky could have gotten it as soon as the clerk filed it, but it didn't matter even if it was leaked early, since it is public knowledge.

Maybe he'll have a gold plated gavel to match his brooch. :floorlaugh:

Is there ANY proof there was a history of violence towards JA?

And you are doing a good job. Keep up the good work. You make us think. Helps us to exercise those brain cells.
