I really hate the fact that the defense has to try to make Travis look like he was this terrible person, it is such a weak defense that even Arizona law says that verbal abuse is not a defense to justifiable homicide. IMO, she really would have been better off stabbing or shooting him just a couple of times in the knees non life treating and then ran to a neighbors house and have them call 911. What she did was over kill. I hope the jury realizes she has never even had a bruise because of Travis, as far as what I've seen. If I missed something I apologize. I haven't heard any police reports about her being abused or stalked as a matter of fact she was the one who was stalking Travis. Of course the defense has just started their case, but I just don't see much hope or justifiable homicide. If this jury comes back with anything other than first degree then something has to be done so juries understand reasonable doubt. If 1 thing is reasonable, it doesn't necessarily mean you have to rule that way. It's a collection of facts put together that makes it reasonable doubt. IMO I think the instructions should go into depth on the meaning of reasonable doubt.

ok, I missed the thing that happened to cause Jody and several ppl in the gallery (TA's family) to burst into ters, lean over, leave the courtroom, etc. I must say its prob ther first time Jody authentically cried, or shes been practicing and is getting better at faking it.

SO WHAT HAPPENED? What was said or asked to make everyone bawl?????

PPPPPLLLLEEEEAAAASSSSEEEEE tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have to keep reminding myself what I believe is the truth about Jodi that she does not feel deeply about anyone but herself; therefore, any tears would be for herself. IMO, she's playing a part in a play, and her role is to be the dirtied one wearing the old prairie blouse. We're suppose to think Travis did this to her. She's gearing up for when she has to get on the stand. I doubt she is going to be able to move these jurors. JMO

Dang, wouldn't you just know it. My special friend wanted to come by and see me so I scheduled it for the jury lunch break ( I know, this is shameful) and when he arrived, he announced that he had taken the entire afternoon off and would not have to leave for the whole afternoon. I'm just now trying to find out what happened today, please tell me that JA did not testify while I was donning my French maid outfit?

Legally, can't they say what's on the death certificate (which I would assume would be homicide). It wouldn't say killed, or murdered. So I do believe Juan shouldn't be throwing around the term Murdered just yet.

Just MO.

Mel

The prosecutor is operating under the opinion that the defendant is indeed guilty of murder. Why would he not use this term when describing what happened to the victim in this crime?

It they are progressive lenses, don't give up! It took a week or so of wearing mine most all the time to get used to them. Now I would never have the other type.

Same here.

I think it would be a mistake to talk to Jodi in a less than respectful way. One that I could see him making. Honestly IF she takes the stand he should just give her the rope to hang herself, not yell at her. It will not fair well at all.

I don't know, he might work her up into such a frenzy, that she might just, lunge at him.

Is that strange that they continued with Lisa AFTER the jury left?

They were doing voir dire to see if she could testify to that before the jury.

Hopefully they prepared them as prescribed. I'd let them know! I have progressives, my third pair plus fourth being sunglasses and I love them.

Yeah, they checked them with me at the store to make sure everything is alright. I think it's just adjustment for me to get used to.

No "back door" cracks, now.

Back door cracks, :laughcry:

Hoping it's that Travis and Lisa were smooching when Jodi came in the doggie door!
Me

Me too - that would be absolutely brilliant for the jury to hear! Can you imagine - your stalker lady friend coming in through your doggie door? Who does that!

Jodi that's who!!

But a homicide could not be homicide without murder though, right? Im confuzzled!

hom·i·cide
/ˈhäməˌsīd/
Noun
The deliberate and unlawful killing of one person by another; murder.
The police department that deals with such crimes.
No, a murder is a homicide, but a homicide is not always a murder.

Generally, a homicide is the killing of a person. No more, no less. A murder is an unlawful, usually intentional killing of a person.
