She inherited his dog.

Is she the dog sitter? I think it is very telling, if it's true as stated that Travis left instructions in his will about the dog. Who thinks when making out your will at such a young age that your animal will survive you???? jmo

Horrific. I actually wish I had not looked.
Regarding the chest wound ... I have a hard time figuring how the knife would have gotten by the sternum and through the ribs to the vena cava.

I should add that I have seen several LDS members on other sites that are not thrilled to have T be a "spokesman" for lack of a better word, for their faith.
They are basically disowning him because of their judgments about how he conducted his life. This is so sad. To loose a beautiful life is bad enough, but to have him scorned by his own - after his death especially - is very disheartening.
My prayers for T's family for the strength to endure.

That is sad but please know thats a small sampling of a church with 14 million plus. I feel very confident and hopfull that among Travis family they are recieving much support in the mormon community.

The jurors questions would take all day!

I hope defense is keeping an eye on those juror questions. I can only imagine what questions the jury would ask Jodi should she take the stand. I also see Juan going over every lie she ever told on those videos and to the media. I see Juan as being very, very controlled with her but persistant and pushing the right buttons, so to speak. Putting her on the stand may not go quite as they plan. jmo

Well, Jodi had lots of practice with the knife with all that tire slashing she did. I imagine you have to hit a powerful punch to go thru a tire or a chest.

I see this more of a personal issue between the brother and sister towards Travis. Mormons are suppose to judge themselves and judging is suppose to come by way of God and how they repent from what I understand from the testimony during this trial. If anything else this trial has given many a view of Mormons that the average person would never have had. They are a very tight, supportive, respectful group and appear to help one another out. I do not feel this has hurt the Mormon community at all by calling attention to them. jmo

Oh my. I haven't been watching all of the trial, but just seeing the entire yesterday testimony and cross. This PA Juan is unbelievable! How does this man do this without notes, so quick on his feet. I am floooooooored. While I understand he must live/breath and understand to the depth of his case, but how he gets an objection and immediately turns it around.............I am in AWE OF THIS MAN as a prosecutor. In jawdropping awe.

He is a one in a million I believe as to SKILL SET for this job. How old is he? How can he be doing this all by himself is amazing.

Anyway, back to regularly scheduled programming!

My Day in Court Part 2:

So...the deputy on and off all afternoon kept coming out saying "I'm trying to find you girls two seats". And then after the break he pulled us in (just as I was talking to my friend Michael Keifer, a journalist covering this for the local paper and he was trying to get me a way to get in). We didn't sit together (ironically her name is katie!) but we both got in.

The environment in there is so freaking intense I can't tell you. I felt my anxiety level go up the minute I sat down. It is such an intense vibe in there. Saw Lisa for like one second of testimony and all the other final witnesses for the day.

I made a bunch of notes so here goes:

The size of the courtroom is like a huge ballroom you might find yourself in for a big wedding reception. I can't impress how LARGE it is. Jodi is WAY far away from the jury. I could barely see her today with my view.

The jury is attentive, many taking notes. I'm fixated on this one female juror in the front, 30 something, tri color hair, she's paying such detailed attention. I keep thinking she could be foreperson. She's WAY in to everything.

Tanisha's husband holds his arm around her waist every time she stands. Looks like he's literally holding her up. good man. He looks much younger in person than on tv.

On Jane Valez Mitchell yesterday an older female friend of Travis was on as a guest. I met her today When the younger sister Desiree 's name was called as a witness, she sharply turned around looking at the person behind her with a long long WTF type stare.

All of Travis ' family are in suits and dresses. Very dressed up.

Nurmi takes forever to get to a point.

I once again talked to their Victim Advocate and she handed me her card saying "tell them tomorow you're with me and you can get in". :great: It was after I asked her if she'd slip a card to the family for me tomorrow. Which I will do. And I will mention the WS community on my card to just so you know.

At the end of court, Juan walked up to the family, checked in with them, he said "are we good?" and they nodded. I'm glad I saw that.

I think that's it for now. I'm going back early tomorrow. I will get in for sure and can stay for the morning (have to work in the afternoon).

I'm thinking tomorrow will be a BIG day. Just a hunch.

Now gonna read some posts and CRASH. :seeya:

Thank you Katie, good job.

Thank you especially for telling us about Juan checking in with the family and asking "are we good." He is doing a wonderful job for Travis and his family.

And yet why is it the defense struggles with its questions, fumbles their papers etc. They have had years to prepare and these are their witnesses to boot. IMO it is much harder watching the woman DA than it is watching Nurmi.

Good morning, my imaginary friends!! :)

I'm baaaack. What a day.

Ok so I got to the courthouse about 12:45 and tons of people were already in the hallway waiting to get in. They themselves had created a makeshift lineup with numbers and we all lined up against the wall. The Deputy in charge was letting in as many people as they could. Some idiot charged in ahead of me and they cut it off literally as the person before me got in. :furious: (yeah I confronted him later and almost got in to a thing in the hallway but that's neither here nor there).

I remember the self-assigned "number girl" who, after a few frustrating days in line at the Casey Anthony case, decided to bring a Sharpie pen and assign numbers. She wrote numbers on people's hands as they got into the line. She was great!

Am I remembering right that this trial was projected to wrap up early in April? Two whole months of listening to witnesses like the defense put on yesterday? I don't know if I won't go mad. Even a couple of weeks sounds like it might be dicey to my mental health.

Its strange. We have been in the defense case this week but I cant remember a thing that has really helped JA and can only remember the WOW moments when Juan revealed more evidence through the DTs witnesses.

IMO

It's probably been said already but I will bet the farm the same knife used to slash tires is the one used to murder Travis.
