I am appalled that Jean would actually hold it against an attorney if they are passionate and aggressive or if it is not a style she likes. Lets hope to hell she never sits on a jury.:eyeroll: She would vote with her emotions and biases instead of basing it on the evidence entered.:furious:

How totally immature.

IMO
I think she makes valid points. Not liking them certainly doesn't make them invalid. A lot of people felt that Martinez behaved completely inappropriately in showing the autopsy photo. It really served no purpose (other than as a stunt), and was entirely irrelevant to the witness on the stand. It comes off as way more aggressive than necessary to a sweet little girl that was on the stand trying to help to the best of her ability.

The more I hear, the more I think Jodi might take the stand. I would have said no way ever at first (in fact, I might have actually said that lol), but now I'm starting to think there's the slightest chance. If the defense case doesn't get any better, I'm thinking that will be their only choice. Plus, I honestly don't think the defense team cares enough to do more than tell her not to. jmo

I sure hope she does. Not only do I think she will be minced meat but it makes her appeal harder to achieve if she is convicted.

IMO

Until we can hear the context of the phrase "3 hole wonder", I don't agree that it is necessarily a derogatory term. What if he is saying, "Wow, you are an amazing lover, and I appreciate all of you."?
That is the problem with the written word - as sometimes happens in this blog. Nuances are not available, no facial expressions to read. I believe the written word alone is often misconstrued - especially if taken out of context.

But..but..but...I don't think most people would consider "three hole wonder" in any shape or form a compliment on their sexual prowess. Well, I wouldn't.

I think that's a little bit of a tenuous argument.

I just said that on twitter the other day. If JA is found NG.....Betty Broderick needs a do over ASAP.

I don't see how JA will be found NG but she could get life, which she rightly deserves for murdering TA. She may have been beat up emotionally but that IMO never justifies murder.

when jodi finally admitted she did it by self defense, is that what her attorneys suggested based upon her case? Would this be her story to the defense team or did they think this is the only way she could plead? i know lawyers dont have to believe their clients, just defend them, i wonder what they really think of jodi

She's pronouncing Juan's name with a Spanish pronunciation "Huan" and rolling her r on Martinez. Casares is also a Hispanic surname.

She doesn't look Hispanic in the least to me. But, maybe her married name is Casares and her husband is. I dislike her so much that I don't even care enough to look it up..lol

Well, we already know he referred to her as a "three hole wonder" so saying he wasn't with her isn't much of a surprise. Question is, why would she just sit around and accept that kind of treatment? Maybe she was keeping score until she hit the magic number of insults and really got even.......

Hi, Wishbone. We don't know in what tone "three-hole wonder" was delivered or, in fact, who said it first. And Jodi might not have taken it as an insult. After all, they did apparently have repeated sex romps and take nude pictures of one another; something I have never even thought of doing with any girlfriend. Jodi was hot to trot and I suspect that whatever his second thoughts, Travis was experiencing his first full discovery of erotic adventure.

....Unfortunately, it helped get him killed.

I think it's clear from Nurmi's pretty apathetic stance what they think. At least the female attorney makes it seem like she cares.

Well, me either, but I am so skeptical after THE TRIAL THAT SHALL GO UNNAMED.

Good questions. Women hold lots of leadership positions in the church. Often, women are thought of as naturally being more spiritual by nature. Just what I have seen- not speaking for the church, of course.

In this case, I think JA was good at reading what different people wanted her to be. I think this young man was taken in by her personality and her expressed interest in changing her life, etc. I think he was probably disappointed that Travis didn't hold the line more so JA would have a fair chance to change her life. KEY: Remember, this young man has not heard the other testimony yet. He is also not watching the media. He still has no clue of all we have seen and heard. I believe it will be a surprise to him when/if he hears the other testimony at a later date.

Welcome to WS! :)

Judges have to be very careful in a murder trial where the death penalty is an issue. They also have to be very careful to keep the jury happy. If the jury gets disgruntled with hours or schedule, it is difficult for them to really listen and weigh the evidence. I suspect they do lunch each day at the same time so the jury can make plans for lunch and keep them. Also the media. There is so much to a trial like this. They also didn't have the court room this morning due to another case. It is tough for any court, no matter how big, to handle a trial of this magnitude. There is also A LOT of work behind the scenes.

I've served on a high profile triple murder and rape trial so I am somewhat familiar with how the jury feels and I did take advantage of the long lunch breaks sometimes to get a little work done and make work calls. I can tell you that just sitting around in the jury room waiting for court to begin and every day starting late is a real aggravation. An advantage on the trial I was on was that the courtroom was designated just for that trial and the judge wasn't shared. The trial venue was changed to my location so the judge and courtroom was designated for the entire trial, which was better but here were so many sidebars the jury was almost in the jury room more than the courtroom.

Nurse....in another thread I believe you made mention that the disallowed letter supposedly from TA was available to read in the Court Minutes linked on the first page. There are a LOT of minutes there, would you be able to direct me to the correct date, or even the correct month? If I'm mistaken about you having made that comment or that a copy of the letter exists, my apologies!

Hi Candy,
The letters themselves are not in the court minutes. Only the court procedures surrounding them.
By 8/7 they are already asking for a sample of Jodi's handwriting to prove them fraudulent, so it was slightly before that.

I just don't see it that way

The only way that makes sense to anyone is if they find it acceptable for jurors to have their own personal biases in a case and dont have to weigh the actual evidence entered in any trial but can base their unjust verdict on such nonsense.

As a juror several times over to even contemplate such a replusive thing.... I find highly insulting and offensive.:furious: I would NEVER thwart justice for a victim because I was petty, bias, and immature to hold it against either lawyer and anyone that does so should be locked up for breaking their oath imo.:furious:
