No idea. I agree with the other attorney who posted (sorry- trying to remember names). I think they are trying to hold him to the Mormon standard of things and trying to show he may have fallen short.

But, goodness gracious, even in the Mormon faith, he would have always been loved and welcomed and cherished. And, it looks to me like he was trying to decide between two worlds. To me, it looks like he was able to live the Mormon lifestyle with support when JA wasn't around, but when she was, he did things he wasn't probably proud of.

It makes me so sad for his family to have to go through all this. It is my understanding they are Mormon too and probably didn't know a lot of this before the murder. How awful to have to sit through this.

Mormon youth do mess up. Everyone messes up. Get over it. He was a good guy. He was trying, like we all are. Most of the times where Mormon youth don't follow the standards as far as sex, they went to far because they were in love, etc. and "messed up." But, here, I don't think Travis had a fair chance. This was more than sex. This seems to be an obsession with someone who was bent on getting her way. He was outgunned with her. Particularly as Mormon kid, who did serve a mission, to me (JMO), she was far more sophisticated and conniving than he could have handled....or anyone, for that matter. It makes me very sad to see them try to bash his character. So sad. This isn't even a fair match to begin with.

TA said made a sarcastic comment - JA said something back and she became emotional and then went upstairs . . ..she didn't just stand there andtake it she said something back - TA went up there for 20 min before DF went up . . . . neither TA and JA were happy because DF went into the backpak . . . . into the car they went to Havisupai . . . pretty quiet -silent - neither were sayng mean things to each other

Picture taking . .. TA was asked by JA to stop so JA could take pictures (while we were driving - that sounds familiar) . . . . if that did occur happened on the way to Grand Canyon - a point somewhere they did have a "squak" something to do with taking photos. . . don't remember exactly

Havisupai - 3 nights 4 nights . . . . 2 or 3 full days in the Canyon - everyone had a hammock and sleeping bag - swim in first waterfall. . . .sister and JA were talking then TA and JA were talking - we were far enough ahead of them they were having a disagreement about something. . . .. we went and swam for 1.5 hrs. . . we were done swimming it was a substantial amount of time . . . TA put these trips together - - Sedona and Grand Canyon . . .. I wasn't dating anyone .. . .my Sister was safe for everyone to take. . . . part of the reason tookyou along was TA didn't want to be alone with her? . . . . Interesting that it was this guy who kept inviting Jodi over AFTER TA broke up with her.

OK, I have been trying to bite my lip, BUT, this guy seems to me like he thinks of JA as the little, naive female who is expected to step off the path because she is weaker, and needs the male protector to look out for her and guide her along the proper way. He may have felt TA had more responsibility to be devout, because the females can't be expected to do as well as the males.
