No Way! Juan has zero reason to offer one and zero reason to accept one. It's all up to him!!!

Aside from that, judges do not get in the middle of plea deals as they are being explored by either side. Those are negotiated directly between the state district attorney's office and the defendant's attorneys. So in judge's chambers, a plea deal is not hammered out/negotiated there.

Not that I really think someone stumbled across the murder weapon somewhere in the desert, but since a few people mentioned it in the light of those new evidence tweets, I just have to ask this:

Would it at this point make a real difference if the weapon was discovered? I can see how the gun might be hugely important because if it were really JOdi's grandparents' gun, it would go a long way to proving premeditation, but the knife?
After all, she admitted to killing Travis, and neither the knife nor the gun were recovered, so it's clear that she disposed of them somewhere. Since the question isn't if she did it but whether or not it was premeditated or self-defence, discovering the knife would not really matter, would it? Not as much as finding the gun.

Hi - My understanding was that it was fired into the right brow, and lodged in his left cheek bone.

I saw the perfect hole it made in his forehead (skull) right above the right brow. In a persons Travis' age the brain sits right up against the skull. There is no way it could have missed the brain.

The left cheek is just where it wound up after it had lost all of its velosity which wouldnt happen the second it entered his brain.

IMO

If not, this is very poor planning, IMO. Especially if court is dark tomorrow.

Having read other replies: I do not believe he was shot first considering the ME evidence, and having read about what being shot to the head would incur besides the obvious: Scull fractures, brain damage, blood loss, unconsciousness, and other injuries to the rest of the brain that one does not consider like massive concussions, etc. Being shot first does not fit within the scheme of things IMO.

I am with you in being very fascinated with this question. I too do not see her taking chances. I think there was something. I have mulled over wether she lured him into a sexual bondage situation. There was that silky rope found at the crime scene, in the pools of blood.

I think she shot him first for the following reasons:

1. Because she brought a gun with her intending to use it.
2. Her interrogation statements indicate, if you read between the lines, that she shot him and the gun jammed, (and I think she started stabbing him as a result).
3. IIRC, I don't think the ME stated it would be impossible for Travis to survive for a little while after a gun shot to the head.
4. We have seen people survive gun shots to the head, like Gabby Giffords.
5. We have a poster on here very familiar with guns and with 25s who stated that a 25 would not easily or instantly kill a man like Travis.
6. I think jodi would have believed that a gun shot would immediately incapacitate him while stabbing is more iffy and she would not have wanted to get so close to him such that he might be able to disarm her, which a knife would require.
7. Travis was sitting down in the shower right before the killing began and the trajectory of the bullet shows he was shot from above from right to left which mirrors how he was sitting right before he was killed.
8. Her stories about the intruders probably mirror to some degree what actually happened.
9. Travis was found with the head wound facing away, and towards the wall of the shower. We know that he left the shower during the killing and was dragged back into it and we know he was shot in the shower. It makes no sense that she would shoot him and then pull him back out and turn him around so that the head wound faced away from her. Too much work.

I suppose it doesn't matter much except stabbing first may indicate a bit more ruthlessness on her part. But either way, this is one of the most vicious murders I have ever seen.
