My head is swimming from reading about Kyron, and I've barely made a dent in the information that's here--so please pardon me if this point has already been covered:
If Kyron is like most kids, and he's been told that he's going to to have to leave school early for a doctors appt--and he knows he's scheduled to perform in a talent show with one or more classmates at that same time, then he would probably feel that he needed to say to someone else involved in his number "say look, I'm not going to be able to do the talent show. I've got to go to the doctor."
If the co-performer didn't know in advance that Kryon would miss the talent show, then Kyron must not have told him. What this says to me is that Kyron expected to be in school for the full day, and expected to perform in the show. MHOO.
Or he might have expected not to miss a full day because of the doctor's appointment, and thought that he'd be back in time for the talent show.
