Personally, I think Kaine would have known if Kyron was planning on being in the talent show. Getting up in front of an audience is either terrifying or exciting, depending upon your personality, and I don't think a child would hide either emotion all that well, over something like this.
Which then makes me wonder why he equivocated when discussing it. He never denied it; just said there were some questions about it. I can't imagine it didn't come up in conversation in the morning when Kyron was feeding the cat and Kaine was telling him to have a great day, love you, b'bye!
I am wondering, since it is STILL, now going on 347 posts, whether the title should be changed, since this talent show is most decidedly NOT confirmed, at least with regard to Kyron.![]()
So, if it is J that was called before the GJ, it's interesting that Schreiber herself was not called before the GJ, but her son J was. Why do we think that he was called? I always figured it was because he was the last one to see Kyron at 9:00. But maybe there's some other reason??
But it has, to our present knowledge, BEEN confirmed by several parents at the school and the child that was to perform with Kyron. Has anything been in the media that has discredited those accounts?
I may have missed those links.
If not, is it responsible of us, in our sleuthing to decide ourselves what witnesses we will credit and what ones we will hold up as gospel? How would we agree on that? Would that not cause confusion?
If these witnesses have confirmed in a credible media account that Kyron was to be in the Talent Show...by what criteria do we now pronounce them not believable and change the thread title?
Since it is well documented that each person will typically come to his or her own conclusion regarding the veracity of statements made by any particular person regarding this case,(true) it would seem self-evident how witnesses are credited or discredited.
debs said:The fact is, parents of children (and one friend of a parent of a student) state there was a talent show and Kyron was to be in it. His own parents state that there is some question about that. Seems to me it is the parents discrediting the parents of the other students. I don't think anyone doubts there was a talent show at the school that afternoon from 1-2:45. The only question is Kyron's participation in it, which then says to me that, regarding the case of the disappearance of Kyron, the talent show still isn't confirmed. Whether the title is changed or not will not change that particular fact.
I wonder what a two minute talent looks like.
A surprise for who? Each parent has a reasonable explanation as to why they weren't going to be at the school that day. We know Desiree hadn't planned to come to Portland to pick up Kyron since Terri and Kaine were going to drive him down to his mom's house.
Who would Kyron want to surprise?

By our own personal preconceptions? But that is NOT a trump card to the rules of this Website. The title cannot be changed on any one group of members point of view ALONE. We go by MSM links not individual members preconceptions in assessing information. There are reported witnesses who testified under oath that Kyron was to be in the Show. Have they been discredited by other MSM sources? Other witnesses who also testified under oath?
If you are referring to some other standard, respectfully, it is NOT self evident to me. Please explain.

stmarymeads said:There are witnesses that say Kyron WAS to be in the show that testified to the Grand Jury. I have not read that other witnesses IN SWORN TESTIMONY discredited that. If this has happened, then I'd like to be informed with that information and read it myself. Has this happened? This would make me better understand your point of view if I could read the link to the parents who testified that KYRON WAS NOT to be in the Talent Show.
Stmarysmead, you know of a person who testified before the GJ about the talent show? I hadn't read that anywhere, can you linky please? That's exactly the kind factual info we're looking for here. TIA
Sure Billy. I'm going on the first post that started this thread.
" Talent Show confirmed
a 9 yo testified @ GJ last week, confirms he was to perform with Kyron at the talent show, but never saw Kyron at school that day...
KOIN news at 6, no link yet "
I'll read further in the beginning of the thread to see when KOIN posted. This appears to be a Twitter post.
I was always curious about that. I thought GJ testimony was kept secret. Did the child tell reporters?
Maybe the talent show was just for students and teachers.
Maybe Kyron THOUGHT the talent show was just for students and teachers.
Maybe if Kyron felt he was punished whenever his daily report was not good enough, he feared not "bring up to expectations" in his little performance. and that Terri might punish him for that.
Maybe he did not WANT his family there for the above reasons or any of many other reasons: feeling shy: feeling more comfortable just performing in front of kids; feeling unprepared; feeling unable to meet Terri's ideas of excellence; so many things the child might have felt.
Maybe he wanted to surprise them all and come home and tell Terri he was praised and did well...to compensate for the reports that seemed to upset her and maybe embarrassed Kyron. Maybe he thought if Terri were there, he was doomed to fail in her eyes again.
