Hi fellow WebSleuthers, I'm sending you a ferocious storm. We're waiting for up to a foot of snow to cover trecherous ice on the roads. We started to get a rain/sleet mix about 11 am this morning. Two of our people at our Ford dealership are volunteer firemen. They were out on I-70 for 4 accidents involving ice on the highway. Slow down people. Four wheel drive doesn't work on ice.... By the time I got home at 6:30 (traveling down back roads) our entire yard and drive was covered in ice. Try feeding horses while you're trying to keep off your butt. Of course, the Queen of the escape artists had to get out for a romp, taking a few calves along for the ride. All you want to do is get them fed and go in to start a fire in the wood stove and hunker down for the snow on the way. Yeah, right !!!

I don't know if I'm going to be able to get to work or not, depends if enough snow covers those icy roads. Going over our overpass over I-70 we saw 4 vehicles stranded and/or rolled within 1/4 of a mile. I've decided if the news says I-70 is closed, I'm staying home.

So beware folks, it's on its way to you. Be careful

OMG! I couldn't imagine weather like that over here. Hope you and everyone over your way are ok.

We just get bad storms and the occasional tornado plus cyclones (hurricane's to you guys and gals but ours circle in the opposite direction). Accidents here in those conditions are msotly because idiots over here think "oh have to get home fast" and they speed up!

Hugs for you and a nice big warm cyber blankie to keep ya warm :)

Belated Happy Birthday BarnGoddess, and I suffered for a day and a half in that same storm I think you have now, as it swept up from the SW and put 300,000 families out of power here in Portland Or.

We will survive, right? Another big fat storm will hit here tomorrow, and I'm going to tell it to swing north and completely avoid Colorado, and thank you Mr Storm. LOL Scandi

Be very careful BarnGodess - the job isn't worth it !

I can relate to the activities which bad weather seems to spark in the creatures - hope everyone came up for you when you waved the bucket !
Tell the escape artist to stay put - its too bad for even her. Check in and let us know how you are doing - keep the fire going luv. Will be waiting to hear from you ! Stay warm and on your feet.

you're probably right, but i can't help but wonder if this "next news" will be months & months & months away...it makes me sad that justice is taking so long for Michelle's family, although i DO know some cases (well many) have taken years for justice to prevail....i hate to whine & be so impatient, but that's how i feel this morning, relating to Michelle Young's murder:(

very good idea BG...did you stay at home?

couldn't help but laugh at "Yeah, right!!!"....the 'picture' of getting the horses fed, start a fire in the wood stove, & hunker down for the snow sounds sooooo comfy...
...while reading your post i have a James Taylor xmas cd playing...him & Natalie Cole do a wonderful, cozy version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside".....

getting another cup of coffee, so i can keep dreamin...lol

46 degrees right now here, & suppose to get up to 67, ugh....(overcast, dreary)

Well Charlie and folks, I am staying home. Colorado Dept of Transportation (CDOT) has a great website that's kept up to the second. They closed I-70 all the way to the Kansas border, so no way am I leaving. Woke up to at least 6 inches with a predicted one to two more feet coming. The worst will be later today when the wind starts. We're expecting winds up to 35-40 mph. So, it's a real blizzard. We'll feed everyone and stay in and watch it pile up.

Glad you stayed in BarnGoddess - with that wind - major white out and big huge drifts huh? Better to stay home and not get stuck away.

You start getting stir crazy - I'll try to help entertain you ! Keep the fire going !

Belated - HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!

I'm joining the whiners here too, and stomping my feet while I'm at it.

Barngoddess, :HappyBday !!! (Belated, from what I understand.) I hope you had a nice day.

We are not expecting any snow, not even for Christmas day! It's just not Christmas here when it's almost 50* out.

I've heard United out of Denver (hub) has cxld all flights, incoming/outgoing. Not such great news for all the people expecting to leave town for family parties, or all those gifts that are probably still in the mail.

Bunker down and stay warm out there.

Build yourself a nice fire, get into the comfy clothes and wrap yourself up in a blanket with your laptop! Oh, and add some hot chocolate and watch it snow!!
