Okay folks, will be scarce for a while. Leaving in the morning to take the red pony to the Port of Miami for shipment to Bremerhaven. From there off to Homested to catch the IRL open test and then flying out to Germany. Will be popping in and out once I get my schedule fixed. Just wanted to let you all know in advance.

Pack_fan - very nice win this evening by the NC State ladies, was nice of NC State to rename their floor at Reynolds for Kay Yow - she is a very good coach and I was glad to see her back on the sidelines. Excellent !
ooohhh, I'll miss ya!

See ya when you get back.

Hugs

LOL, my hubby ignored all safety warnings as usual. Men!!! (Sorry, guys.)

I stood by with the phone in hand ready to dial 911 though.

We've certainly learned something new. We'll be preventing ice dams in the future rather than being the victim of one. What a pain. Now we need to dry out the attic and get the living room ceiling fixed.

All this time I kept thinking my problems are nothing compared to some of the news articles I read here (after I got through the initial shock!).

Raisin, safe travels! I'm looking for any Nascar cheating comments you may have. I have only seen a few seconds of that coverage here and there these past two days and want to know what the heck these grown men are thinking!!! :slap:
Stoping in for a bit this evening to say hi to everyone!

Taximom - I really have little to say about NASCAR unless you want to talk Tony Stewart ! I'm not sure about the Waltrip thing with the oxygenate - that seems like cheating to me and not welcome in my line of thinking. I think the rest of it was pushing the envelope on the rules. I don't have any problem with that as probably every team does it in every racing discipline on a consistent basis. Gotta figure out where the line is before you can cross it...

Glad you got your roof situation taken care of - lots of problems. Dry out the attic good so you don't get any mold growth going up there ! Hope it all works out okay! ;)

Good to see you RC, just checking in myself as there has been no news to speak of. Hope you are having a great time and getting your dp "fix" before heading out of the country.

It has been 15 years since I have been on a horse. Guy I used to work with used to train horses and I would ride with him occasionally when he needed to get them out and let them run. His family owned a farm and it was a lot of fun. I would love to ride but don't have the time right now. Got my hands in so many different things right now, I'm afraid I might turn up missing if I told my lovely spouse that I was going to take up horses as well. I have already spent the better part of this week in the dog house so I must be on my best behavior. At least for now..... Next year may be a different story :D , keep me in mind.

Enjoy the time in Germany and keep that red pony between the white lines.

My mom has a lead foot, so I was not surprised when a state trooper
pulled us over as we were driving through Georgia. Hoping to get
off with a warning, Mom tried to appear shocked when he walked up
to the car.

"I have never been stopped like this before," she said to the officer.

"What do they usually do, ma'am," he asked, "shoot the tires out?"

lmao

You took the "fun" out of it - they were driving at night in cars without lights! I'm not sure how the phototog got this pic given the lighting conditions and speed involved but it is a neat picture. Still not completely sold on the color scheme of this batmobile.

Lol, It is a good pic, but I had no idea what I was looking at and I'm a curious buggar. Dunno about the rest of it, but the blue's nice :)

The blue is what I don't like ! I call it pepto bismol blue - not a pretty blue IMO but I'll live with it since Motorola is sponsoring this car big time and that is their color. I will say it is very noticable on the track, just not saying brute horsepower to me...but then again nothing in my mind compares to the #5 F248 Michael Schumacher drove last year.

Thanks :)

Now that's a wicked photo!.....and I can see it lol

Gonna show my hubby when he gets home. Been a while since we 'sniffed the fumes', lmao. Actually last time was the dragsters, and we had a guy sitting behind us who was louder than the cars while explaining things to his missus!! So funny, because she was sitting with her hands over her ears.

I would love to learn dressage. I just can't afford it. BTW, Charlie, you may want to check in at home. Big storm coming. We expect it any time now. Predicting gusts of 60 mph and 7 - 11 inches of new snow through tomorrow. Here we go again. We still have snow on the ground from the first snowstorm just before Christmas.

The BarnGod and a friend and neighbor went down to La Junta today where they had it really bad. Said farmers are talking about their dead cattle and horses lost in those storms. Drifts are still 4 feet high in town. They went looking for a horse at the sale there. Friend has Thorougbreds he races. Needs a good track pony. This is the third sale they've hit and not bought anything yet. Last week I kicked him because he didn't spend $1200 for a seasoned ranch horse that cut and reined like a champ. They're really going cheap. He could have bought a great Percheron for $250 that rode and drove single and double. We could sell that horse in the Spring for $2500 at least at the big draft horse sale. We lucked out big time when an Amish farmer came in with a trailer load of Alfalfa loafs. (4x4x8) We bought the trailer load for $70 per loaf. They are advertised here for $165. He wanted an empty trailer because he was purchasing farm implements to pull behind a Pioneer forecart. So, we may get through the winter with enough feed after all.

Have fun on the Autobahn, Charlie, cant' wait for you to get back. Love your updates.

LOL! I can relate! My mum is very lonely and when she visits from out of town it is simply incessant chatter. I can leave the room, get some laundry together and when I get back she hasn't missed a beat. I do love her though!

BarnGoddess Sorry to hear about your weather! So sorry about people losing their horses and cows. I'll keep all of you in my prayers tonight. Glad to hear you'll probably have enough feed. It must be terrible! :blowkiss:
