When it is plus 8 here and sunny with no wind, in my yard can sit in just a T-shirt and feel warm. But we are surrounded by trees and such. If I were to go to town it is windier and unsheltered and I would wear a coat. In the evening I would definately still wear a winter coat. MOO

I just don't see how you could do that, but then again you all probably don't get how I could live in 120 plus degree weather and never wear shorts.

I wonder why all the Canandians dress warmly for hockey games if they didn't feel cold. There was a group of Winnipegians that would come down to see The Coyotes play because The Coyotes used to be The Winnipeg Jets and they wanted them back. True blue to the bone hockey fans. Even they wore heavy clothing.

Also, when we thought they were going to go back to Winnipeg our goalie at the time didn't want to go there because it's so cold, and he's from Russia. 😄

Maybe all the Alaskans I know are wimpy wimps. I have pictures of them wearing jackets when they visit. In one picture my friend was wearing a heavier sweater than I was during the holidays.

I think that the crown had a focused job to do in THIS trial.

a. provide proof MTR acted as part of a team in the kidnapping, rape and murder of TS.

I believe there are many unanswered questions relating to many people in regards to this case. But that was not the focus of the trial.

I believe that there was MORE crime associated to this case; but again it was not the focus of this trial.

I do believe that although there are some missing pieces in this case they are missing because it is not the focus of the trial; the focus is who was present and directly responsible for this brutal murder, rape and kidnapping.

I have no doubt that LE has "the numbers" of anyone associated with this case and aside from this trial has pursued where info has taken them. We may hear about it one day. But not all of it at this trial. I don't think either of them is "connected" but I do wonder if they didn't think they could somehow make money of this crime someway in addition to succumbing to their natures. IMO

Again, I have no insider info this is just my opinion.

There are four things I believe for sure. LE, crown, RS and the evidence. MOO I think that LE took their job seriously and left no stone unturned in the quest for justice I feel assured that anyone that needed "a legal sorting out" and charges got sorted. IMO

Wimpy Canadians is all I can say.

I have played in arenas where my feet froze solid.

We Canadians are so hot blooded, our ice melts during the games.

Is Gretz still there? Met his dad about 10 times over the years......great guy.

Would love to buy a place in Arizona..........but ownership is compiicated there......no mortgages for Canadians.

We own land in Saskatchewan.........not nearly as nice as Arizona........lol.

Hmmm Arizona vs Saskatchewn for property tough choice. Are you helping to harvest the "genuine Saskatchewan Seal Skin" for the most rugged Canadian of all time Super Dave Osborne ? Lol. Or are you still busy with the Toronto Polar Bear hunt? Lol both jokes for our American friends here....

I've played in rinks where drops of sweat would freeze before they hit the ice! Haha

Maybe someone told them it gets cold in the desert at night.... Cold to a person from Winnipeg might be 50 below at Portage and Main! Lol they were just being prepared. Haha

JMO, but the key point for me from today's testimony was that the witness saw Tori acting very comfortable with the person in the video.

ok so how does that exonerate the accused child killer?

I believe the teacher when she said Tori forgot her butterfly earrings and went back in to retrieve them.

Butterfly earrings were found at the crime scene.

Oh i believe that too.

I am sure i heard that the jury can ask the judge questions?? I wonder if they will or can ask why MR was in Mount Forest if it wasn't to harm Tori?

I think it is disrespectful to Tori, and all the other children killed by child predators, to say that anyone who knows about stranger danger would not go with a stranger (or however it has been phrased.) Predators know that kids will go look for a lost puppy; that is why they use that lie as a lure. Do you think Kristen French was stupid for wanting to help a seemingly normal couple with directions? Predators know what lines to use to lure their victims away.

IMO, it doesn't matter if Tori had seen TLM in passing, with or without her dog. It doesn't negate the following pieces of information: that Tori was in MR's car; that he transported her without her parent's knowledge; that her DNA was fund in his car; that he was at the place of her death; that she is dead. It also does not explain why, if as some like to claim, he was an unwilling and unknowing dupe, that he did nothing about this horrendous crime.

I don't think that Tori knew TLM, but I don't understand why, if they were hypothetically acquainted with each other, that would be a game changer for some. You can be kidnapped by someone you know. Besides, even though TLM took Tori to the car, it was MR's car and he drove it away. He kidnapped her too.

I posted a Dateline series not too long ago about stranger danger. Children who were told about stranger danger were set up while their parents watched in shock. An ice cream truck comes along and the guy asks the kids if they wanted ice cream. The kids approach. He then asked the kids if they've ever seen the inside of an ice cream truck.........guess what? In an instant they were lured into the truck. An eye opener!

You're right. Regardless of how many times we teach our children about stranger danger, these monsters know how to lure a child. Whether it's ice cream, puppies or other.

Yesterday's testimony was a huge waste, imo. I don't fault the poor lady.

Whether Tori knew TLM or not is irrelevant. Whether TLM went inside the school to stalk victims is irrelevant.

Tori could've been playing at a park or playing in the schoolyard and she would've still been a victim.

Wasted day and one less day closer to justice.

This is just an observation but many stated that they were withholding opinions on the evidence in this case until the defence had their say. Now that all the evidence is presented it seems that it is not the case. I wonder how many are holding on to preconceived notions having to do with rumors and innuendos during the early days of the investigation? I am really quite shocked. Again, everyone is entitled to their opinion, i just find it curious. JMO

I started reading yesterday's trial thread right after work until bedtime :) I want to thank everyone for posting throughout this trial. Its unfortunate by the time I'm here my posts are mote and happy others of like mind have pretty much said what I wanted to.

I'm really unhappy that after a 4 day break they weren't prepared to get one witness thru and to closings yesterday and today???? that is ridicolous, have they been too on time that they need another break to take it into next week? This all in the public's view, I for one will be making sure I bring it up to my MP. When you have an unsequestered Jury and such a high profile case why take the added burden of risk?
I'm sure this Jury would like to just get to the end at this point without unnecessarily drawing it out.. and that is my opinion. Not saying to rush here... but sheesh another break??? after one witness... to prepare for a closing that I have a feeling is not going to be much since the defense can't talk about what 'he never proved' (that MR was duped and oblivious to where, what he was involved in) imo

mystic

i agree

i wonder if nowadays people are expecting a video of the crime? well we did get some great video's that showed MR looking pretty sure of his surroundings. And I have enough common sense to know that an 8 year old would be crying to go home... who hides a child they are babysitting?

Not sure where you heard that but I don't think they can ask the Judge why MR was in Mount Forest. They can ask the Judge to have parts of transcribed testimony read back to them or view evidence but the Judge can't answer questions about testimony.

I totally agree. I'm sure this jury wants this over and done with so they can move on with their lives. This must be such a burden on them.

Furthermore, my taxes are paying for MR's trial. Lock him up and throw away the key already!

I also believe the Grandmother's testimony was skewed (and not on purpose). I just think by the time she saw the video of TLM walking she could have put another person with a white coat going in the school that day or another day... and if the grandmother left before the woman with the white coat came out of the school then how did she see TLM and VS walking? nah, something was mixed up with that statement, surprised that the defense took the chance to put her on the stand with her having 2 separate incongruent statements.

So your opinion is that TM got on stand and lied at her own daughters murder trial? Or do you feel JG introduced the two and he has been dishonest during the whole investigation? Since these are the only two ways TLM and VS would have known eachother.

JMO they could have met walking down the street, perhaps with their dogs, it doesn't mean TM or JG introduced them IMO

Can anyone post a link to any evidence as to the drug debt theory? The only time I remember it being actually entered as evidence and not as a lawyer's suggestion (which is not evidence as we've learned) was in MTR's interview with police.

Has anyone who wasn't implicated in the crime ever said anything to that effect? I'd like to see that evidence.

Crown attorney Brian Crockett said he wanted to address "some of the speculation that's been out in the community," and asked if McDonald owed anyone drug money at the time or had received a ransom call. She said no, but that Goris had ripped 20 or 30 OxyContin pills off someone, worth about $400.

Well this is the thing. There was no dna on the pea coat that belonged to Tori. So there is only TLM word that he was hiding Tori. JMO

I am not trying to defend MR. I believe he should be in jail.
