Theories discussion: What could have happened to Haleigh? #3

I used to go to a training center for dogs regularly and in one section they did scent training. The object with the scent was brought in a sealed box and shown to the dog. In the middle of all those smells in that huge building the dogs could find that one article. It didn't matter that they were surrounded by every scent imaginable because the place was huge and full of animals and people. They are trained to focus on the one scent and track it. That whole scenario of them having to throw the bedding outside to get a scent just makes no sense to me. What on earth was inside that MH that made it impossible for the dogs to get a scent?

We agree on something. It makes no sense what so ever to me either. Did the dog handlers, themselves, pull the bedding outside or was it a detective on the scene? Plus why use the bedding at all? They contaminated any possible evidence, like fibers/hair/DNA, when that was done. All they had to do is get an article of clothing that her wore for the dogs to track. Use the clothes that she wore to school that day.

No offense, but most drug dealers are not in the business of abducting children. What were they going to do, hold her for payment and then hand her back over and expect nothing to happen? To me that makes no sense, dealers are not idiots, especially when it comes to LE. If Misty owed a dealer money, she was there, take her. We have all heard that Amber and Naynay were working off drug debts at the pink house where their clothes were taken so they couldn't leave. There is also no evidence that RC was involved in drugs.

I don't follow what you mean. Are you saying a drug dealer broke into the home and stole Ron's gun? I have never heard this, do you have a link to this info.? "What else previously?" I have no idea, I didn't know the home had been broken into and items "of value" stolen, is there something to back this up? The RUMOR that was perpetuated by CS's brother and fiancee' about RC that he said he was 75% sure he knew who took her has been shown to be untrue, if that is what you are referring to.

IIRC LE said that the wind may have misdirected the dogs following the scent. Probably the blanket scent carried off in the wind.

It is interesting that the scent caused the dogs to circle the street that Haleigh lived on before moving to Green Lane. If one starts at the end of the scent trail, it seems to me like someone looking for Ron's old house and then going on the wrong dirt path to Green Lane.

To those of you who work with these dogs, how does the dog know to pick Haleigh's scent from a blanket that may have the scent of Jr. MC, RC, any number of cousins/step-cousins, etc. who may aso have used the blanket?

I guess that the handlers would need to remove the blanket from the house to scent the dogs, otherwise they would run around in circles in the house. Is this correct?

I still think that this was an opportunity burglary gone wrong, someone thinking no one was home and maybe even encountered an unlocked front door.

I think what beatrice is speaking of, and I hope I am not overstepping here, but Ronald sent Misty over to the Croslins to retrieve his gun when it came up missing. I also think that Cousin Joe or Tommy was the thief. I don't think it had anything to do with CS.

Tommy seems to have a need for gun. That is what he was arrested for prior to the bus stop drug nap.

Thank you for that Asti. I agree that whole blanket on the ramp issue makes no sense to me either. If Law Enforcement were working off an abduction theory, why would they allow the blankets to be pulled out like that? So much for evidence. And the propped open door. That was left for almost 2 weeks on the trailer before suddenly one day they went back and unscrewed it and took it in to the crime lab. :waitasec:

Oh, Beatrice left. Gosh I hope that is what she meant..lol. Maybe I should keep my mouth shut....lol I just thought having read many posts of Beatrice's that I had a good idea about what her personal theory was about the gun.

I found an interesting and lengthy theory posted on the internet by an author who said she forwarded her story to LE, TJ Hart and Art Harris. I'm wondering if it is okay to post it on this thread? It includes the names of players who have already been named but it connects the dots so to speak. A woman believes she saw HC at her doctor's office in June 2009 and she has identified the woman as a relative of Misty's cousin.If I need to bleep out names and street addresses before I post it I'm willing to do that. TIA

How long has this been being bantered about on the internet? It would be incredibly simple to track down this lead, so if it was forwarded to LE a while ago, there is nothing to the theory/story.

This woman did contact LE and that was the first name I mentioned in my post. I said she forwarded her tip to LE, Art Harris and TJ Hart. She turned in her tip about 2 weeks ago and because she had an address I'm waiting to see what becomes of it. It is possible Misty said she was home doing laundry to cover up for not being home that evening.

This woman believes she spotted HC in a doctor's office located in Central Massachusetts, which is 3 hours from Cape Cod.
I found the tip on Sunday and this is how she titled her post, "Why I think Haleigh is still alive 2 Weeks ago". The key player is Amber Brooks.
