How far away is Plant City?

According to MapQuest, it's about 145 miles south/southwest of Satsuma.

How far away is Plant City?

Thanks Amster for posting that article. I wish we knew if it was the remains of a child or an adult. Could this be the break we were looking for.

One poster said that it is about 145 miles away so I'm assuming the estimated drive would be about 2hours? Keep me poster Amster, please!

I don't know about Ron in particular, but Putnam County schools will have parents arrested and prosecuted for their children's truancy - even kindergardeners. A big batch of truancy letters went out at the end of January/first of February.

Former PC school superintendent Geri Melosh was on The Phil Donahue Show a long, long time ago about this very issue. [honest-to-goodness]

If Ronald received a truancy letter from HaLeigh's school in Jan/Feb 09, Crystal and DCF should have received the notices Ronald received to verify Ron's claim that HaLeigh's school intended to take his daughter away from him and send him to jail. The school wants to work with parents not against them and there is a big difference between a truancy letter and a warrant for an arrest. The school must follow the rules set in place by law and the process is slow and complicated and it certainly doesn't occur overnight.

What did Ronald do to resolve his most urgent problem of his? Did he arrange to have her taken and cared for by someone else or did he kill her? He is a psychopath.

Nevertheless, Ron cannot deny he was responsible for creating this problem which involved his daughter because he was the one who had custody. The attendance records prove he was guilty and during this time period Ronald was scrutinized for living with a minor and he was hiding his involvement in drug-related activities.

I think this happened to Haleigh one to many times.


Sheffield also said she was told by her cousin of an incident where Cummings apparently hit Haleigh after the child bumped into him or smarted off to him.

If you're considering anyone talking to rc about that night....take a listen. I already know how rc would act. He gives you nothing when asked. He gets angry an defensive and I bet mean most of the time when asked anything about Haleigh. The other person involved, misty, well you see how any information she gave helps. So I don't think blaming the other side is suitable in this case. Heck, from what I can tell, rc wouldn't even let the kids talk to crystal on the phone, so highly doubt he was going to share any information with her about Haleigh disappearing.

This is weird. I have another association of AS's with a name I can't link and we have not heard of before, that lives in Plant City. The name is also linked to *drum roll, please*...105 Rita Lane...ta da!!!

The name is David G...

I am incorrect on rechecking the records. David G has remained in PLant City and not in Pomona Park. Sorry about the error...my mistake.

There is a relative or associate of AS that lives in Plant City. He did not live in Pomona Park though. I do not know the connection he has with the family. Can't imagine this find being Haleigh but stranger things have happened.

Were you referring to my quote where I wondered that Crystal hadn't heard anything? It was Crystal Cummings speaking, Ron's sister, not the other Crystal.

I won't be surprised if they rule this as a homeless person and can't identify him or her. We have so many people who come here, live in tents and die due to exposure, lack of health care, elements and what not.

Weird though the way everything seems to have connections. Relativity I guess.

After listening to Misty & her dad talk from jail, I think Misty was probably involved in a big way-not with a murder, but most definantly the cover-up & probably with the disposal. This has probably been discussed many times, but I' m beginning to think that Ron got off work earlier than reported, went home, something happened then, & he later went to that store to create an alibi. Does anybody know when he got off, for sure? Maybe he yanked Haleigh out of his bed because she had peed on his blanket, hurt her, grabbed her-blanket & all-& either took her wherever-maybe somewhere around that store or his job-or trusted someone to help him. Maybe Misty woke up, screamed, & fought him. I remember some scratches on his arm, I think. I tended to think something happened before work, but now I'm thinking, possibly, after work.
