I do not know if specifically it was Anna's habit, but I know a lot of kids immediately go outside once they arrive home to play. I believe whoever took her knew enough about her patterns to pick a time when she would be home and not being watched.
How would all of the rain recently (that day?) have affected someone planning to snatch her? Would someone in the close vicinity have thought, "oh, it's too wet today, she won't come out to play", and thus eliminating anyone in that area... and therefore pointing to someone from outside the area (and by that I mean outside of Half Moon Bay).

Good point HOT, like a local may have put it off for another day. But a person who had made a special trip there, would hang around to make the attempt, just on the off chance that she would come out.

I really don't want to bring up the numerology discussion again, but something just hit me. If Anna's DOB is 9/25/1967 was lined up with her name Anna Christian Eifee to come out to whatever outcome number it was. It makes sense to me that if her DOB was changed to something like 10/24/1967, those numbers would add up also. Example:
9 + 25 + 1967 = 2001
10 + 24+ 1967 = 2001
11 + 23 + 1967 = 2001
12 + 22 + 1967 = 2001
8 + 26 + 1967 = 2001
7 + 27 + 1967 = 2001
6 + 28 + 1967 = 2001
5 + 29 + 1967 = 2001
4 + 30 + 1967 = 2001
3 + 31 + 1967 = 2001
I can go on and on going into the year 1968, but my head is hurting already.

Spiky & Hot,

I sent you a PM with a link to download the spreadsheet I have. Let me know when you get it and I will take it down, so its not all over the net.

I was looking at the numerology last night, to see if it was really worth pursuing the "eifee" angle, and I thought all the numbers had to be reduced to one? I had trouble finding a good resource that told you how to add them. I dont know if anyone has found this, but here is the site I used, since the Kabalarian site wont actually tell you...

http://www.starsforetell.com/php/showContent.php?linkid=21

Does anyone know if Brody used a middle name? that would be helpful in determining his numbers.... I thought at one point anna's mom mentioned both he and GW (or Anna?) were supposed to add up to 27, which didnt make sense from the standpoint that they are supposed to be reduced to a 1 digit number (1-9)...

I'm confused - am I missing something?

There are numerous (no humor meant) numerology techniques. Whichever one Brody believed in, both he and "Anna Christian Eifee Waters" added up to 27.

We have not been able to find any middle name for Brody.

I was just curious...as to whether annas mother had posted an inquiry to any of the adoption reunion boards. Is it possible she was placed for adoption? Without knowing what birthdate the 2 Gearoges might have given her I guess that would be difficult. But it might be worth perusing them if that is possible.

I have posted on Adoption.com a listing for Anna (it seemed to be the biggest database). We have not had anyone contact us yet. The theory that Anna would believe that she was adopted instead of abducted seems to make the most sense.

It was through that site that we located a woman born in San Francisco on the same day as Anna who was adopted and was searching for her birthparents. It turned out to not be Anna. (See "Possible Matches for Anna" thread, post titled "Susan Ward")

Thats what I was thinking - that she would be thinking she was adopted and so naturally she would go to an adoption site if she were looking for birth parents.

Im sorry that has turned up no matches. Of course...it is hard to say how much a child of 5 really remembers. If GW had told her her mother had died, she may have believed that and so may not even be searching.

Just was a random thought - glad someone else thought of it too.

Anytime someone independently comes to the same conclusion as we have, it helps by validating our thought process. I know that Annasmom, Joe Ford and Annasbro have spent the last thirty-three years running possible scenarios in their minds (me for the mere last year and a half) and it is real easy to come to some very wierd ideas. Coming up with the same conclusions that we have made is not a duplication of effort - it tells us that we are not crazy and may be on to something. Thanks, Scotch117!

Just some notes on the significance of the number 27:

The meaning of numerological representation

Number 27 is the first number inscribed by 🤬🤬🤬🤬 Sapiens on Columbia from Branzeni--38.000 BP--, the oldest known document to date, that deals with Primordial language.

Why then exactly has this number cast such a shadow over the time?

1) The New Testament contains 27 of chapters.
2) Book of Proverbs (The Bible) has 27 verses.
3) God crated man "male and female" in the 27 verse of the Genesis.
4) The Sephiroth Path (Kabbala) has the numerical sum 27 (27 = gift of five powers to the Soul)
5) Brahma-- (I AM THAT) = 27
6) The Word (Ishvara is AUM=OM) OM =line 27 (Yoga Sutra of Patanjali.
7) The Vedic astrology alludes to 27 houses of the Moon.
8) The Egyptian papyrus consists of 27 stanzas
7) 27 is the highest number of the Platonic Lamba series which God created the soul of the universe (Plato, Timaeus , 35 b)

I don't know if anyone has gone to the site SFgenealogy.com, but there are lots of pics on there from the early 1900's through present day. There are school pics and yearbook photos from elementary - high schools for each decade, as well as pics from Society groups and all kinds of organizations.

I tried to see if I could recognize Brody in any of them but my eyes are too bad. It might be worth taking a look. I have always thought he felt that he was 'of status' since he liked to appear so dapper all the time.

Since we really dont know where Brody came from or when he popped up in SF, we may get lucky and find him in a photo.

Please don't think I am crazy, but could it be as simple as GB adding up the letters in Anna Christian Eifee Waters name, which would be 24 and then adding the spaces also, which comes to 27? Now, trying to figure out his real name is another thing.
I have searched on the social security death index for anyone who died in 1981 in Ca. and then did a search with this list against names on the regular Ca. death index. I have been able to find all of the s.s listed except 2 people. No where can I find these 2 people. I wonder if when GB died he wanted his name listed as GB on the death certificate and maybe was drawing a small check from s.s. under another name and GW had to contact them so the real name is recorded with s.s. and would not show up in Ca. records. Does this make sense??????? If anyone wants the names to help me search for them pm me and I will send them to you. I don't want to put their names and s.s. on the forum unless someone tells me it is o.k.

Adding to the above post- in the s.s. death index for Ca. 1981, I also added the last zip code for GB (94109) the death month/year (12-1981) the last city he lived in (San Francisco) last state (Ca.) With my added info I came up with a relative small list. I didn't make myself clear in last post. DrDoogie, I googled the address you gave me to get the zip code. Will you check the BFH on any correspondences/ letter and make sure I have the correct zip?

GW & GB received their mail mostly through a P.O. Box with a zipcode of 94101. Waters did occasionally receive personal mail through his places of employment. Your Google search results of 94109 is probably correct for the physical address.

While digging through the BFH, I uncovered some notes made by Joe Ford in 1982. His excellent research turned up the following:

1) Brody can be traced back to San Francisco to 1945-46. Margaret Kukoda can also traced to SF as late as 1943. (Since both were from Pennsylvania [MK for sure, GB we believe], it seem quite probable that they met there and travelled to SF at the same time.)

2) Brody and Kukoda can be traced for sure as living together some time prior to 1962.

3) Margaret had a life insurance policy active when she died (Surprise, surprise! Any bets on who the beneficiary was?).

4) There were stories mentioned by Waters that Brody had been in politics at one time. Waters also said the GB had been a boxer (It's odd that I found this note today, because I was looking at the portraits of Brody yesterday and was thinking that he had the look of a broken nose...like a boxer!)

5) Margaret Kukoda used the alias of Mary Kay. She may have also used the alias of Margaret Kay (not confirmed). There are references by Brody where he refers to her as "Margie".

6) In 1951, there was a SF listing for "George and Marion Brody". It is not known if this is GB and if "Marion" is Margaret.

I have spent the last 3 days reading so much here, learning about Anna and my heart breaks for the family who still searches for her! Somewhere out there are answers to be found for all the questions we have!
One thing I'm curious about is why did it take a week for GW to be found after his suicide? He was working as a Dr and I would think that if he did not show up for his shift an alarm would have been sounded and someone would have come looking for him in the first day or two. I do understand he was let go from one of the jobs but didn't he still have atleast one other job? Did he tell them he would not be in to work? Did he leave any type of note at all?
In the years he supported GB, when he filed his taxes would he have possibly claimed him as a dependant? If he did then would he have needed to put down a ss# for him?
I'm sure there are many people around SF who would remember the two men, people who worked/lived around the hotel, co-workers and patients of the Dr. The waitesses where they went to have meals. The department stores where GB went to shop. If you could talk to some of the nurses that would have worked with GW I'm sure there would be many stories they could share.
Has any thought been given of posting something in a local SF paper with their pictures to see if anyone could come forward with info. I know that will also stir up crank reports also but it's a risk that may be worth it IMO.
The fact that they had another room rented at the time of Annas disappearance is a big red flag to me and also them leaving for over a week right after.

In reading about the car and woman trying to get Anna inside the car, I noticed that her brother said she would have gotten inside but he stopped her, a young child is trusting and it's no surprise that she would have left with this woman if a month later she showed up again. It also seemed to me that when the woman was talking to her she was asking questions to verify that this was indeed the child that she was supposed to be getting and not mistaken identity!

Whoever did take her may have picked a rainy day to do it on because that meant more people would be inside and not out where they would be seen, it also helped that the creek was more suspect because of the higher rushing water, this helped the kidnapper! They also could have easily found out the time when she would be getting home on the school bus without much trouble and know the brothers who stopped her from leaving before would still be in school!

Annamom, you'd mentioned how family and friends were pushed away due to the illness GW had, would there be any of his old friends still available that might be able to give any insight at all into his dependancy on GB. When you were married did he ever travel? Did he ever talk about a "safe place" where years later he might think to hide away a young child?

Dr. Doogie, if GB had been a boxer in younger years there could be a good chance there would have been photos taken! Would there be any way anyone could look into old boxing clubs around the Penns. area?

Well, here goes nothing!

I found a George Brodie who was boxing in San Francisco in 1918, as per this url:

http://boxrec.com/date_search.php?yyyy=1918&mm=12&dd=18

I found further information re the Association Club in San Francisco as follows:

The Association Club was a boxing club in San Francisco's Mission District, during the four-round era (1914-24). It staged regular weekly shows on Wednesday nights, throughout this period. It often had as many as seven or eight bouts on the program. It was the starting point for most Bay Area boxers, who would advance on to programs at Dreamland Rink, after establishing themselves at the Association Club. The promoter at this club was Olympic Gold Medalist Al Young.

The Association Club, discontinued as San Francisco's Wednesday night club, after Young moved his operations to National Hall in 1923.

________

I'm going to do a little more checking on this George Brodie to see if it could be our George Brody, but I do have my doubts. If our George Brody was born around the turn of the century, it could be him... and we've always suspected he changed his name. However, if our George Brody was actually born when he said he was born, he wouldn't have even been alive when this fight took place.

Doogie, I would appreciate you letting me know if you feel pursuing the above George Brodie seems like a worthwhile endeavor.

Hello! Your insights are welcome and they make sense to me. GW was actually found by the hotel manager...how and why is too gruesome to describe, but you can imagine. He had a private telephone, but if people called from the clinic, of course there was no one there to answer, and I don't know whether the clinic knew where GW actually lived. There was no note, but the hotel manager told Joe Ford there were some papers with writing indicating that GW felt guilty. He never claimed GB as a dependent as far as I know, and GB had no SSN that we know of (that would make it so much easier to find out anything about him, of course.) The only insight anyone has suggested about the mutual dependency is a psychological condition known as folie a deux, a kind of shared delusion. Yes, he did travel to Europe, Mexico, etc., but I know of no "safe place" such as you mention.
