The above few posts reflect why I am so interested in those FBI papers on GW Doogie was looking into. Especially if those papers might offer names which may have been destroyed by GW or destroyed from the safety deposit box owned by GB.

It's my opinion, if the names aren't going to be blacked out it is worth it regardless of how long it takes....... This has been an ongoing investigation for a long long time, and a bit more time even if in the background for the time being is by all means worth it.

Any update on that Doogie? Have you finished reading the docs and any decision? If you decide against this, may we ask why you decided against it?

SherlockJr has been able to locate and have a brief phone conversation with MH. MH has promised to call back in a week (after some visitors have left) and provide what information she can. Our thanks go out to MH for whatever help she can offer clarifying her role in the early search for Anna (she was involved in 1974).

This private detective has returned my call this evening. Unfortunately she does not remember the case at all. Some of the names that I brought up sounded familiar to her, but she was not able to recall anything about Anna's case.

I'm new here, so forgive me if I sound naive... but how could a PI possibly FORGET a case like this? It's not like you see them every day.... something isn't right IMO.:waitasec:

I'm wondering about records... doesn't a PI keep records on the cases he/she has worked?!?! This sounds a little suspicious to me....

Hello rmf and welcome to WS. I thought the same thing. It's not like this PI is in their 80's and would forget things, she is much younger than that. She has offered to call me if something comes to her later.

something is not kosher with the pi with a missing persons case that u worked on in the 70s with alot of twist and turns the bfh brody and waters how could u now remember the case something fishy is going on i am 26 and i remember things that happened to me when i was only 4. i even remember them telling us about white vans when i was in like 1st grade and how we needed to stay away from them. i also remember things about other family members that even they don't remember at first but when i go into more details it all comes back to them.

I certainly doubt back in 1974 Anna's case file was not as huge as it is today. There was no BFH until the death of Anna's father in 1982. There was no mention of the couple who tried to lure Anna a few weeks before she went missing. I would imagine most of her case file in the beginning was the search of the creek and the noting of a white van, carrying two over-friendly males, driving down the road.

If her participation in this case is as we suspect (merely a friend of a friend taking a look at the case to provide some suggestions), then the fact that she can not recall it 33 years later does not surprise me. If I understand the nature of her particular business, she was working primarily with "radical" lawyers involved with high-profile clients such as the Black Panthers and anti-war activists. That she would not recall a case where it appeared at the time that a young girl had drowned is understandable.

I think that the next step here is to do what we can to verify that she was the PI who was the "friend of a friend". The intermediary friend seems to have confirmed that, but his memory is also sketchy.

Ok, someone explain this to me please....I just watched that darn movie "Zodiac", and I have a question here, why and who was the George Waters mentioned in this case, and also the fact that it was the early 70's...it weirded me out...especially all the cryptic handwriting that made me think of Brody, orchestrating something, really weird...I have read all the stuff on Zodiac, but 'George Waters?" whom was this man in San Francisco?

Right after I saw the Zodiac movie, I addressed this issue, but let me do it again since that was a while ago.

The George Waters mentioned in the movie was an early Zodiac suspect who had been stalking one of the confirmed Zodiac victims. Several things about this GW grabbed my attention - such as the stalking of a coffee shop waitress and the fact that he was born in the Phillipenes. However, this GW was a bartender in Vallejo and had a family in Napa (not a doctor with a family in SF). Same name with some wierd coincidences, but definitely not the same guy.

At one point before the movie came out, there was some speculation on the Zodiackiller.com website about our Waters being the same guy. I was reviewing it and getting excited because one post I was reading sounded so much like our Waters - even down to some very small facts. Then I realized that the post I was reading had been cut & paste from this site and the brilliant writer whose work I was fascinated with was...me. My wife has always said that I am my own biggest fan.

Thanks for clearing that up, I am not a big movie goer, thus I just rented it. The whole time I was watching it, I kept thinking of Brody masterminding it, and making Waters do it. I didn't want to go through that much research work, to come up with the wrong guy, like in the movie, and I just knew you would have looked into this already! I knew the story, but not that well, and it got me thinking ALOT.

LOL...I love the fan club you have unwittingly (or very wittingly!) started, I guess I am a member too!

Like InterestedNHelping I rented and watched the movie Zodiac last night and scared the crud out of my hubby when I screamed, "what did he just say? Did he just say George Waters?" Then I rewound it several times to make sure I caught that right.

Anyway, I came on here and saw that y'all have already covered this!

Gotta say, for awhile there it just really spooked me because although I don't post on Anna's threads I make sure and keep up (clearly I missed the Zodiac topic though!), and she and her entire family are in my prayers!

Something elsewhere reminded me about the FBI file for GW which was mentioned awhile back. Is anything happening with that? The Evelyn Wanek connection brough it back to mind, while we are trying to find connections. I wonder how many names and associates other than GB might be listed in that file.
