This Family is United

I'm pretty much convinced now that they have come to accept 1)that Caylee is dead 2)Casey is responsible, yet they can't accept that she might have done it intentionally. I'm pretty much convinced that they believe there was an accident of some type, maybe the pool accident theory that has been floating around from day 31. I am going to feel so sad for them if it is proven that KC either killed Caylee on purpose or accidentally by sedating her so she could go be with TonE (I happen to believe one of these 2 things happened - and either one is more horrible to accept than simple negligence).

This deserves a thread unto itself: I am broken.

What does that mean?

he said "i am broke." not to say he didn't mean to say broken, but he didn't. he said broke.

What happened to the brother who threw his sister under the bus many xs during LE interviews..Who didn't hesitate to tell TL (?) she's a chronic "liar" & "thief" just hours after finding out Caylee was missing for '31' days..Who told KC to cut the BS in her first call home from jail..Who told her face-to-face that Caylee came "first" on his priority list then her, then mom, then dad..Is it the same brother who said "this family is united"..Who most feel made the memorial more about KC then Caylee..Who may have been using a webcam during his speech while nobody watching was the wiser.

I really want to know who the hell is LEE ANTHONY? I hope to find out (for sure) some day cos trying to figure it out makes me head hurt way too much!

This deserves a thread unto itself: I am broken.

What does that mean?

It means he is destroyed, in anguish, it is hard to get up every morning and breathe.

He can't think, every physical movement hurts and Lee doesn't think it will ever be better.

IMO

As I said on another post I feel sorry for the George and Cindy
as being grandparents because they loved Caylee as I love my
grandchildren but if I knew mine did something to my grandchild
I would always love them but I would have to tell the truth of
what I know my parents always told me if you are in the right
I'll take up for you but if you are in the wrong I want.

 LindaFaye. And you said that all in one breath, and in a nutshell. Thank You!

If this family is so "united" then why is it that Caylee's grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. were not at her memorial service? Where are Caylee's other family members? I think they are the one's who are "united" and they are willing to accept the fact that Casey is the only one responsible for the death of Caylee. Were they "banned" from the memorial? I cannot even imagine the pain they are also going through. Was Shirley (Great Grandma) there?

It's all so strange! They have offered no other ideas on who they think murdered Caylee so what is their deal? As long as Casey gets off it will all be OK?

Caylee has been an afterthought from day 31 imo. This was evidenced by Cindy and the rest of the family never asking for her return from whomever they believed had her. They used the emotional capital as a family instead, to obfuscate, obstruct, ingratiate wealth, and coverup. They wasted that capital imo.
I am with you on this!

It means they are united in stating the innocence of KC. They are going to uphold her innocence til the end. They will stick up for her, love her and stand by her. Whether they really think she is innocent I don't know but they are going to be united in proclaiming her innocence until the end.

Shirley was behind Lee..GA said his dad couldn't be there cos of his mom?..He said his brothers-in-law were there but did that include Rick?..That would be a shocker..That's really all I think anyone knows!

Been there. But WHY? Because KC is in jail charged with the murder of her daughter? Because the media and public won't quit hounding him? Because his father just tried to kill himself? etc.

Or,

Is it because Caylee was murdered? As should have been the reason in the memorial as to WHY he is broke?

Very often, when tragedy strikes a family, it causes anger and hostility, and eventually, splits up a lot of families. I think it is very touching that the Anthonys stick together in their support of Casey and are united in their love for each other. They have chosen to say to the world, "You may hate and despise us, but you will not break us apart."
Lee also said, "...but this family is incomplete... I am incomplete." Obviously, he is torn because his sister is in jail accused of murdering her baby girl. This has to be one of the hardest things to deal with in any family. They have lost a beloved niece/grandchild, and their sister/daughter is facing a trial for causing that loss. Ask yourselves how you would deal with that. Put yourselves in their place and try to figure out if it would make you feel better to hate your sister or daughter, and turn your back on her... or would you prefer to band together and draw comfort from each other, in the hope that someday you would find peace. I know what I would do.

Ditto! TxLady you summed it up so well! Exactly how I feel.

Cindy was sure heavy on the caressing of George and Lee while they spoke at the memorial. That struck me. I think she sees herself as the one who brings comfort. (Very much an RN quality). She still looks very thin, I hope she is receiving comfort for herself and allowing herself to need.

Just an observation. It is my opinion that this affection was all for show, the cameras are on and people are watching. I find it highly unlikely that she is a comforter behind closed doors.

Sorry. But the family itself appeared to speak more of Casey than Caylee in this service. There was of course the minister and the singers, etc. who DID speak of CAYLEE, but with a preponderance of: comforting the family. For a minute, just isolate what the family said. In all, George said the most about CAYLEE, and that was overwhelmed by the rest of them either overtly or cryptically speaking about and for: CASEY, IMO, as always.

All of the above ..

Why is it so hard for you to understand that Lee is a broken man right now ..
His whole life has been ripped apart ..

He said he was broke, they were all broken ..

I find the whole "You may hate and despise us, but you will not break us apart." to be a load of bull. This family is so beyond dysfunctional. It appears to me that Lee and Cindy say what they think people want to hear and in the process they look like fools! ALl in all I thought the service was beautiful. Georges message was truly heartfelt and I believe pure. The memorial service though was about Caylee not about being "united" talk about Caylee and your love for her the memories you have of her. I think Cindy saying that Caylee was just like her mother was twisted and sick. Caylee "has your compassion." Lets just assume for a moment that KC is completely innocent of any involvement at all, does a compassionate mother wait 31 days to report her child missing? Does a compassionate person tell lie after lie after lie while family and friends wait for the truth? I don't think so, that kind of logic is twisted. They appear to me to be re-creating a life in their own minds that they did not live, attempting to make things appear to be more normal than they are/were. I just don't get it. On another note and this may make people mad but, they had no family step forward to offer their support, no friends/ co-workers step forward, no pastor or church family step forward and yet yesterday they suddenly became what appeared to be a strong family of faith. Don't buy it, not for one minute. I actually feel rather bad for saying that but, after all that has gone on it appears to me that they are attempting to be/act like who they think the public wants them to be. My dad is an attorney and he told me once that everyone in prison becomes "born again." Oh really! I am a christian and I do hope that this crisis is the family brings them to a saving knowledge and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I do believe that there is forgiveness for KC but she should still be held accountable for her behavior. I believe the same is true for anyone else in the Anthony family that may have knowledge of what happened. OK I have gone off on a tangent and need to stop. Sorry if anyone is offended, guess I needed a release.

The affection may have been exclusive to the event, but I don't necessarily think it was just for show. Everyone had to get in front of a huge audience and say a few words from the heart, and that's difficult, so mom gave a comforting touch.
