Human remains discovered in Thomas County
Thomas County Sheriff’s Office working to identify skeletal remains

The Thomas County Sheriff’s Office tells WALB that utility workers were clearing down trees on Hansell Chastain Road and Hall Road when workers discovered the remains.
Officials say at this point in their investigation, they believe the remains have been there for about a month.
Latest article includes sketch and details:They also do not believe the remains belong to any of the three currently missing people in the county: Trent Hires, Marlina and Greg Hurst, who have been missing for two years.
“The condition of the remains, we believe this person would have been out here for a month to two months,” Watkins said. “At this point in the investigation, officials believe that the person might have been walking along the road.”
