Thank you RC for this interesting update and the links!
This case is so far from being considered a cold case, huh? Something big is brewing!

I think the new investigators have honed onto something of great value here. New sets of eyes help.

I've believed all along that JY is not so smooth, :loser: not as smart as he thinks!

What do you think is going on here?
Did he use a board from the deck as weapon? Did he paint over evidence? Or just hose down the deck to clean up evidence?
Something's caught their attention.

I just think we are seeing the beginning of the end for JY.
Wonder if Mama will again be giving another "interview" on his behalf ?

Wonder how JY's sleeping at night?

Have your sound on for this!

How absolutely eery!
Listening to the guy talking and knowing Michelle was bludgeaned to death in that house is just sickening to me!
I don't think they will be able to even give the house away!

Sad. So sad.

Thanks for this link - did you notice the deck was visible behind the french doors ? According to the re-enactment on NC Wanted - the door handle the perp grabbed to enter was consistent with the french door handles.

I suspect the deck has something that NC SBI is interested in - perhaps as you think the perp used the deck to wash off some things, clothes, murder weapon etc. If so, there may be some saturated stains on the undersides of the boards or between the boards. Did the perp lay the murder weapon down on the deck - ding the deck or drip blood to the boards ? Guess that is possible.

Hi RC. Yes I did notice the deck being easily visible through the french doors and I remeber the re-enactment as well, which I'd bet is pretty much based upon known facts of the case, wouldn't you?
Yes if they hauled off deck boards, there's something they've zeroed in on related to tht deck.
JY has hung himself somehow I think!
They're working hard on Michelle's case and I just feel like their hard work is coming together for them and hopefully justice will come soon.

A few ideas on what may be happening in the case right now...

http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/story?section=local&id=5792799

Thanks for the link Sweetmop - interesting. A couple of things caught my attention. First the entire warrant is now posted at NC Wanted - inventory list - one thing of note is the warrant was sent to Jy in Etowah - previous warrants were sent to Roger Smith so there is a bit of a difference. However, the last couple of lines in this article states Jy's lawyer declined to comment...may be nothing just something I noticed.

Interesting take on the stain - I would suspect since the house was put on the market, someone may have spruced that deck up to make it look nicer and hide any weaknesses in the wood. It is possible the stain was bought after the murder for totally innocent reasons. Being more suspicious something tells me that that some lab analysis detected something similar to the components of the stain from a sample collected from the scene in the bedroom as being a possibility or from confiscated clothing in the luggage taken from the suv on 3 November 06. Or as previously stated when the warrant came out - something lead SBI to think there is a direct relationship i.e. maybe they noted a missing screen from the upstairs windows that overloook the deck. Perhaps in one of the photos they noted a bloodstain on a window sill leading them to think something was tossed out the window and collected by the perp as he left...guess we'll have to wait and see.

You're welcome RC.
And thank you for your thoughts.
I agree that the warrant being sent to Jy is interesting. Roger Smith is still representing JY isn't he?

Something really must've caught the eyes of someone in their review of the video or the pictures of the deck and crime scene.

Maybe this will turn out to be the missing link they have been waiting for.

He could very well have sprayed himself down with a hose while on the deck. There might be traces underneath...

My immediate thought on that was because the article says "has declined to comment" they meant in the past.

I'm going with your suspicions. This stain has turned up in some other analysis imo.

This is the pits. jy's the only one who knows whether LE is onto something. He's either sitting back and having a good laugh or he's doing some hand wringing and having less sleep. Let's hope for the latter. Whatever he's doing at least he knows this is not going away.

Jason can laugh as far as I'm concerned. LE's continued commitment to this crime should at the very least be unsettling to him. They aren't going to quit until they have your weasel a$$ locked up where you belong.

Christmas Ornaments to Benefit Michelle Young's Daughter
Posted: Dec. 5, 2007
Raleigh — A group of friends of Michelle Young are doing what they can to benefit the slain 29-year-old's daughter.

Carol Nelson, who was Young's supervisor in Progress Energy's tax department in Raleigh, and others will sell ladybug Christmas ornaments in Young's memory during First Friday in downtown Raleigh. According to Young's mother, she loved ladybugs.

The money will go into a scholarship fund for Young's daughter, Cassidy.

"Obviously, this is for the benefit of Cassidy, but we are hoping that it will keep Michelle's case alive and eventually, hopefully bring her killer to justice," said Kim Linder, the organizer of a grassroots campaign, dubbed "the Magnet Militia," that has helped keep the case in the public eye.

Young was found beaten to death in her Wake County home on Nov. 3, 2006. At the time, she was pregnant. Cassidy, then 2, was by her side, unharmed. There's been no arrest, and authorities have not named any suspects in the case.

"There's a big sense of frustration, but we also want the investigators to do what they have to do to have a good case against whoever did this," Nelson said.

Wake County District Attorney Colon Willoughby said investigators work on the case every day and recently searched Young's vacant home again, more than a year after the homicide, because new investigators added to the case had never seen the crime scene in person. (more at link)

Apparently Michelle's mom shared info to get this grass roots project going. Why don't any of the Young's do something to honor Cassidy or Michelle? Why is her employer being the ones that take action? The Young's are so obvious, it sucks in their respective attitudes. It is about Jason not about anything else. Let the baby see her maternal grandmother at least! The baby does have the right to know her relatives.

You're right cp. This is my first encounter with these 'mountain folk' and it's obvious they have this air of supremacy: How dare LE treat jy's mother the way they did; how dare they think their jy had anything to do with this; and if Linda Fisher thinks jy did this then she just won't get to see Cassidy anymore!

This heinous murder just breaks my heart. I can hardly focus on any other case because I want this killer to be arrested. They (LE) keep saying this case will be solved...well they know who did it so let's put the rest of the pieces together and charge him!!

Taximom - thanks for posting this link!

Hi jilly!
I feel the same as you in regards to the Young clan. I know all about the "blood is thicker than water" saying, but this clan has taken that saying to a whole new level, haven't they? And look at all that JY has had his family sacrifice for him? He feels quite entitled, doesn't he? He bums off of all of the family in his persistant silence, yet mama and sis are doing pr work for him?

His first priority was to lawyer up and then take Cassidy out of the only surroundings she'd ever known, and head to the mountains. Yes they're quite a strange bunch, and with no regards for Michelle's life death or memory! Wow.

That arrest can't come soon enough for me!

It gets worse. I just read on another site that jy was on a cruise in the Caribbean with his daughter, mother (questionable) and new girlfriend on the one year anniversary of his wife's death. This new girlfriend apparently is from Atlanta and has money.
He's just thumbing his nose at the whole thing. I'm gonna repeat your words - this arrest can't come soon enough for me either.

This is bad. When they take on the new girlfriend so soon you have to wonder if this wasn't the plan after all.

What???
You mean there is actually a woman out there that is that dumb?
Hope she knows self defense.

Geez, wonder what her story is?
Pitiful!

P.S. Hi Jilly! Long time no talk to - hope you're doing well! :)

Oh it was definitely the plan, imo. Some are wondering how he would have met this woman from Atlanta. I think there's a strong possibility he could have known her before the murder...
