Oh for Heaven sakes...I should have known better to double and triple check my links before posting. Just saw the word ONTARIO and I got all excited. I just knew it was too good to be true. So you didn't get the gist of the form then obviously. Well the form was just a general example of what inmates may be able to purchase from canteens, with their own money. I would imagine the one I linked from the Ontario County Jail, New York is quite similar to what's offered in Canada's correctional settings. No?

So yeah, DM would need credit/cash on his commissary account to purchase soap, shampoo ect. and to pay for haircuts. If no one is putting money into his account, he cannot purchase these things and perhaps that is the reason behind him appearing in court with long, stringy/greasy hair.

This link may help to give you a better idea of what is available to inmates in Canada, from canteens. Products the jail does not provide to inmates free of charge. It's been posted before, way back there somewhere. HTH.

In a different vein, DM's lawyer was being discussed over in LB's thread. I found the following of interest about DPq.

In 1985 DPq was the Crown Attorney in the prosecution of the notorious Hamilton mobsters, Domenic and Anthony Musitano et al, of the Musitano Crime Family.

Domenic, the above Mafia don, died in 1995

Circa 2007, DPq was the defence attorney for Angelo Musitano (Domenic's youngest son .. brothers Angelo and Pat took over after their father Domenic died)

So when I explained the connection of the form and DM's unkempt appearance, I am being accused of ridiculing? Is it also ridicule reporters and journalists are the ones who take notice and report in MSM that DM Millard looked much different today from these pictures, his hair was long almost to his shoulders and greasy. Or is this just your approach to make judgement of me? I am curious to know.

I have great concern and curiosity as to why DM has changed his physical appearance while in custody. For someone who always seemed conscientious of his appearance prior to incarceration, I find it very bizarre and odd DM has let himself go. There has got to be (a) justifiable reason(s) for DM to have adopted his new appearance don't you believe? Or would you suggest it's been forced upon him?

It doesn't matter how much money DM has at present if no one is supporting him and seeing to it that he has access to it does it? And of course even if he has millions, he is limited as to how much money can be deposited into his commissary account. OTOH if he's flat broke, well that could also explains why he looks the way he does...he cannot afford hygiene products. Then again there could be numerous reasons why DM appears the way he does. Could it be he has lost all hope knowing his future consists of a life confined to a jail/prison cell, he is depressed and doesn't care about how he looks (or smells)? Or is it for shock and awe? Does he look forward, thrive on or get some personal satisfaction reading what reporters and journalists have to write about him? Perhaps he is trying to disguise himself hoping people and witnesses won't recognize him? Maybe he is physically and/or mentally ill? Or again, perhaps no one is supporting him and seeing to it he has money in his account, he's being frugal, whatever the reason, IMHO I'm very concerned and curious to learn why DM does or prefers to appear this way before the public and judicial, legal personal.

I'd also imagine that Penquin Random House is not interested in a story about a couple of guys awaiting trial for a couple of murders (or just one awaiting trial for three) unless they knew how strong the cases are against them and how sensational a book about the upcoming trial(s) promises to be.

SC made an interesting point: the detectives on this case will be working the case full tilt right through the trial, investigating fully as any new information comes out. The investigation has never ended and will not end until the trial is over.

Just as some of us suspected. Who's going to have the addition charges? DM, MS, CN, all three? IMO this is very telling and not looking good at all for the accused. Not that it looked good from the get go but...
