I think most people would agree that if someone in your family were missing and possibly dead you would want their remains recovered asap. People who murder don't usually call TES to find the body. I don't think it would ever deter people from calling TES if their loved one was truly missing.
The attorneys could be working on a contingency basis. TES has a right to recover lost funds. Look at the money TES had to spend to protect the searchers identities while the DT was doing their background checks. Someone had to pay that bill.
Maybe Tim Miller just doesn't like liars. jmo
The back ground checks is a possibility to what could happen when you are on high-profile cases. Maybe it wasn't High profile when equusearch first came to Florida. This case was certainly different. I didn't think that Casey called equusearch, I thought it was Cindy and she truly thought Caylee was missing at the time. It will be intresting to see how all these suits play out.
