I am sure that the media has not talked to Terri. So I wonder where they got their info? From friends?

Then we don't even know if the time line is correct or who told the media the time line?

"According to multiple sources, Terri Moulton Horman says she left Skyline School at 8:45 in the morning without Kyron the day he disappeared and that between 8:45 a.m. and 10:10 a.m. she ran errands at local grocery stores and can prove it."

Official line on sources from KGW is (snipped)

Some users of KGW.com have wondered about our use of a “reliable source” for information in the Kyron Horman investigation. (snipped)

"We do not use anonymous sources lightly at KGW NewsChannel 8. We believe that in 99.9 percent of the cases our sources should be named and go on camera. But there are rare exceptions when we need to use a reliable source whom we cannot identify to get information to you, the public.

We only use these sources when we know that they can provide us with accurate and reliable information."

I'm still waiting to hear the timeline from she woke up that morning, someone and i can't remember who (or i would give you kudos for this question) asked if TH packed Kyron a lunch that morning i'm still curious if she did. If she didn't that may have been a red flag.

That's interesting. It's from July 14. It's referring only to one specific reliable source. Must be Deep Throat.

This has come up SO many times here. Would you please start a thread about this so EVERYONE can read why they do not name sources. TIA

That's in regard to only one specific "reliable source", but it is important, because now, at least for KGW, we can look for when they say "reliable source", and we can email them and ask if they're referring to that same "reliable source".

At least for those for whom KGW's contentions in that post make them feel better about it.

Sorry, I must have missed something, who or what is Deep Throat that you are referring to BeanE? TIA.

<snip>See, if I went to the gym to work out, I wouldn't continue wearing those clothes for the rest of the day, for obvious reasons.<snip>

Depending on what I'm doing after I exercise, I might very well leave on my gym clothes for most of the day, especially if I was going to spend most of the day cleaning or gardening. Just depends.

agreed i'm certainly not a fan of "sources" but seems to be all we are getting in this case. I believe that statement from KGW may have about the RO and the landscaper, hard to say as they did not reference what article this source was used in Kwim.. I say may have been regarding the RO etc as Peter Bhatia editor of the oregonian defended max's piece on that around the same time.

At least they are trying to defend the reporting style they are using?

The Society of Professional Journalists' code of ethics advises that journalists "identify sources whenever feasible. The public is entitled to as much information as possible on sources' reliability."

I did if I was just doing weights. I wouldn't *perspire* doing that (women don't sweat, ya know). And like you say, especially if I was planning on doing housework, yardwork, etc.

Something we'll probably never know the truth on unless Kaine saw it being made that morning or somebody at the school checked his backpack or whatever was left at school.

You're right---that was an excellent question when asked before.

I wonder if it's from the person who's been posting on the Oregonian website saying he's her cousin?

Long story short: Bob woodward and Washington Post + secret inside source (aka Deep Throat)= Watergate. Watergate=bye bye President Nixon.

I don't think anything has been "reported" regarding Terri's actions or conversations prior to showing up at the school on the morning of the Science Fair. Nobody has gone to the media with an official school memorandum regarding the date of the Science Fair, and a reminder of the time by which the projects needed to be picked up and removed from the school. Surely this information would have been communicated to parents in writing. No reminder about the Talent Show either.
I believe that the parents have been asked to refrain from any media discussions.
I wonder about the interview given by the student who claims he was there when the adult person said that "maybe Kyron was in the bathroom or gettting a drink of water": Could it be that these were possible explanations uttered by the other students. Maybe the boy got confused trying to describe it later on. We need to wait until there is actual testimony to see what was said and what was thought regarding Kyron's disappearance.
I wonder if maybe Terri got Kyron out of the school without anyone noticing, and she would have been exteremly vigilant to make sure there were no witnesses. Perhaps she told Kyron to go ahead of her out that exit door by his classroom, and she scanned the hallways to make sure nobody was looking their way.
Terri told Kaine she needed to drive his truck on 6/4/10 so she could bring Kyron's exhibit home. Yet, she did not pick it up. She could have picked Kyron up at the end of the school day, along with his project. Wonder what excuse she gave after?

Terri was probably feeling totally pissed at Kaine, and she dumped all her resentment on to Kyron. Kyron was happy. Kyron was looking forward to going to his mom's for the weekend, and going fishing with TY. Kyron was going to go on a trip to California with his father. (Wonder what Terri was going to do at that time. Was she even invited?)
Kyron had probably just been too darned happy for his own good. Terri wasn't feeling too happy. Terri was going to put a stop to that. She found a weapon to use against Kaine. Fume, fume fume. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. She probably had failed to seriously annoy Kaine, and he was completely ignoring her the way one ignores a pesty fly that is not within reach of the fly swatter. This time he would realize that he underestimated the ways that Terri could hurt him.
This is all IMO. I cannot tolerate anyone harming a child. It takes a mean soul-less cold-hearted person to take the life of a child.

Regarding the timeline and Dede..

Do we know when Dede started her job that day? And when she returned, what was her demeanor like? Did she say why she left abruptly?

I think this CBS News story is new:

Arrest Imminent in Kyron Horman Search?

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/07/26/earlyshow/main6713605.shtml

In it, former MCSO captain Bruce McCain says that June 4th was the last day of school. :waitasec:

He's wrong, isn't he? I was going to post this in the daily news thread, but oy, I'm not going to do it if the story is wrong. (Others feel free, of course.)

And of course, as mentioned in the article, June 11 (the possible date of the confused Dr.'s appointment) would also be when school was out.

McCain also said, insightfully </sarcasm> "Bottom line is Kyron is either alive and [sic] dead, and that's the blunt truth right now." Um, is there a third possibility?

Argh, who let this old retired duffer speak? MOO, MOO, MOO, :cow:

ETA: Just caught the and/or typo. Kyron is a zombie now?! </inappropriate humor>

ETA2: OK, I just searched the forum, McCain is now a lawyer and has commented on this case many times before. So he's not a "retired old duffer" but, IMHO, he ought to be even more diligent about getting his facts straight. How many red herrings has this man thrown to the news-hungry mobs? :banghead:
