My son never got earaches, but I guarantee you if he was crying from one and I had good insurance, as I am SURE she did from where Kaine works, I would be waiting at the Doctor's office.

During the day, I can possibly see driving around for a bit, but I would NEVER then go work out and leave my sick child in daycare. I'd bring him back home if/when the driving had calmed him down.

I bet she does have receipts from her shopping. So where was Kyron? I also agree with another poster that he could have been covered up in the back of the truck. That makes me so sad. I was hoping against hope she handed him off, but now I think something else happened... I had been quite supportive of her, but with this new information-NO.

She is involved. IMO.

I bet she can prove she was at the workout center too. She took him somewhere during that fake earache drive.

FWIW, my son had earaches/infections constantly at that age. There were weeks when we visited the doctor several times. He was very close to having to have tubes put in. However, when my son had an earache normal life did not stop. We still had to shop and do all the normal stuff people do. Ear infections are not catching and so it is fine for kids to be in contact with others and rather than constantly pumping your child full of tylenol/advil all the time it is normal to try to sooth them to sleep and see if their pain/mood has subsided when they awake. Sometimes when a toddler is tired but cannot get comfortable enough to go to sleep because of the stuffy feeling from an ear ache they can cry and fuss in such a way that would make you think they are hurting but they may really just be crabby from needing sleep. IMO most parents experienced with this sort of thing wouldn't medicate or run off to the doctor immediately. I certainly spent some time driving around when my boy was sick with an earache trying to get him to sleep. Good thing nothing happened to any of my loved ones while I was doing so because I wouldn't have been able to account for each street I drove down or for even how long I was gone.

This is the only thing I've seen regarding Kaine coming home, I've not read anything where he describes what she was wearing. However, I DO remember discussion with posters wondering if she was wearing the same clothes as she had on that morning, so maybe the that's where the mix-up happened.

A: KAINE – No, I was in the office that day until about 1:45 and arrived back home a little after 2pm. Terri was already in the house, on her laptop, when I arrived. I kissed baby, grabbed some food, and worked from my home office until about 3:30 at which time I put shoes on baby and we started walking down toward the bus stop.

This near play by play description that Kaine gives of his arrival at home after a short day at work is the reason I do not believe TH's claim of driving Baby K around for 90 minutes hoping to soothe her earache. Aside from the obvious inconsistencies in that explanation to begin with (why not take her to the dr? Why rural roads? Why dump her at the gym shortly thereafter? etc.), I believe very much that Kaine would have said something about this. He would've mentioned coming in, kissing Baby K, and then something about a toddler with an ear infection (and as most of us know, there's always something, ear infections make little ones miserable). "Baby K was finally napping" or "Baby K was crying because of her earache, so I picked her up and tried to comfort her" or "I gave her another dose of baby motrin because her ear was bothering her", you know where I'm getting at. But he doesn't. He describes a quiet, relaxed scene. TH is sitting on the couch on her laptop, and the baby sounds like she's awake, near TH. After about an hour and a half (right?), Kaine emerges from his home office, puts shoes on Baby K, and they walk to the bus stop, with Terri following behind by a couple of minutes. Now, would a baby with an ear infection so bad she needed to be lulled to sleep that morning want to walk (not be carried) outside for what is a bit of a distance for her little stride? No. Probably not. Bottom line, Kaine gives good descriptions of events, IMO, good detail. I am sure he would've mentioned something about this. But no, he describes a completely normal, quiet first half of the day, complete with a mother sitting on Facebook, not tending to a sick baby; and a little girl, not napping or fussing or anything, receiving a kiss from her dad upon his arrival home and then taking a walk to meet her brother's bus after 90 minutes of what? Playing? Kaine didn't mention Baby K napping or having to wake her up or anything. She didn't sound sick, IMO.

God forbid, I think LE may be retracing their initial steps, trying to do it quietly, but there is no way to do that, with the wall at the school.

Retracing their steps seems like a very wise thing to do in any investigation. But, it is probably more a case of new information, which recently came in. Whatever they tell bystanders and the media needs to be taken with a grain of salt, as the investigation is most important; not answering curious people's questions.

I in no way think they have started back at base one. That doesn't mesh with all the reports we have, nor with the way life usually works. Life keeps moving forward, new details of old situations are added as new people's information is checked out, as stories change when the pressure is put to bear (ie: Terri's friends). Then, there are the sources of technical information (video, for example) and new and already collected records (bank records and phone records, to name a couple) come in and are gone over, along with those sources already collected that need to be looked at again, due to new information.

Just my thoughts on this.

Looks like the prosecution is preparing their case.

Where would we come up with the idea, that at this time, the Sheriff's Department has a lack of funds, extrapolating from that (incorrect) premise that the investigation lacks resources. There is absolutely no factual basis in the idea that, in the words from BeanE's post:

My Opinion, based on the information available to all of us: Video of the Board Meeting, detailing the DA and Sheriff Departments requests and announcements, along with numerous new stories, found by googling "Kyron Horman"

Well, in my opinion, the statement Kaine made about Terri having on the same clothes when he got home from work early afternoon June 4, as she was wearing earlier that morning, and that she still had her gym clothes on, proves nothing. Here's why:

1. Terri could have changed out of those clothes before going to the Science Fair and changed back into them that early afternoon, prior to Kaine returning home.

2. Kaine could have assumed she was wearing the same outfit in the afternoon that she was wearing in the morning. How many husbands really pay attention to the exact casual everyday outfit a wife wears each day? Not like we're talking about something more memorable, like a skimpy top and daisy dukes. Like another poster pointed out, Terri most likely owned a number of dark stretchy pants to work out in. She probably had many plain nondescript T-shirts to wear with them.

3. And, as another poster here so cleverly pointed out, Terri could have had duplicate clothing of the items she wore that morning. She could have changed into the duplicate outfit either at the gym, at home that afternoon, or elsewhere.

4. Kaine could have still been foggy about the day's events and just thought, yeah, they were workout clothes.

There are probably additional explanations as to why Kaine's statement does not prove anything for certain.

As an added note about Terri's demeanor, I am sure Terri did her upmost best to appear ordinary that day. Jmo.

It is just a feeling I have (no link) that Kaine and Terri were not on the sort of terms even before all of this happened with Kyron where Kaine would notice what Terri was wearing or what her plans for the day were or where she shopped or what she bought, etc.

I just wish this case made more logical sense to me. I get so confused trying to put it all together.

I thought we heard that her cell pings were around SI? So why are they back to searching around the school again?

If Terri removed Kyron from the school that day, then harmed him in that area, and then disposed of his little body in that area so well that after almost 8 weeks no one can find it, then she would have to be in THAT area for quite sometime to accomplish all of this.:waitasec: So imo her cell pings would show she was still in the vicinity of the school yet we had the exhaustive searches done on SI.

It just makes no sense to me if Terri did this that she would leave Kyron around the very place she knew would be searched immediately. If she did this then it only makes sense that she would take him further out in a remote area somewhere far away from the school.

If Terri did this horrible deed, she might have killed him elsewhere and if she had an accomplice, the accomplice moved the remains near the school after the search of the school was completed. It would make sense to wait a week or two until after school was over for the year.

yeah...he didn't say he kissed TH hello, or even that he said hello or anything else to her at all when he arrived home. That's the impression I got from her following him and baby out to the bus stop, too. I've worked for the government at the city, county, state, and federal levels, and dealt heavily with budgets and funding requests. It's a constant struggle to accomplishment the mission one has been tasked with, without having the money to adequately do so.

It is no small thing to ask for more money at any level of the government. It is far from something done lightly.

Based on my experience, I believe there is a real need for the additional person and the overtime MCSO requested. I can't think of any reason they would go through the pain of the funding request process if they did not need that people power, and need the money to get it.

More frequently than is pleasant, in government, when one makes a funding request, as happened in this instance, one not only is denied, but told that one must actually cut one's budget. It's painful. Especially painful is if one must put on a happy face in front of the media while inside you know you have a real need and you don't know how the heck you're going to accomplish what is being demanded of you, and what you know there's a real need to accomplish, not only without the funding you so desperately need, but now with an additional cut.

Sometimes there are some negotiations and compromises to ease some of the pain, and that may have happened here. It doesn't solve the basic problem though.

My conclusion, my opinion, is that MCSO needs money. I recognize that I could well be wrong.

It takes about 2 hours to get to Eugene.. but on a Friday afternoon, anywhere from about 3:30 on, the traffic on 217 & I-5 south is VERY VERY
heavy.
It makes sense to me not to leave until at least after 5:30 or so to not be stuck in traffic.
(from personal experience in driving the roads in this area) =)
